It's not about have a favorite - there is no best. But if you want to know, this week I'm digging Beans (ex-Antipop Consortium), next week it might be Busdriver, or Dose-One and Subtle. But one thing that I know for sure: if you only listen to hip-hop, then you have no opinion. Blacks were listening (and inventing) all types of music in the 60's/70's and now they've been limited. Where's the spirit of invention? Listen to some Chambers Bros, Coltrane, J.Brown...and rap is stale, period.
