It has to be said that the 3D techniques here are completely different to the techniques found in the works of Otomo, Oshii and Miyazaki, and the character animation in this film consequently lacks the character and depth found in the work of those filmmakers. That is a solely visual gripe though (one I would not have made had the description not made the comparison), and the film itself does look interesting.
