How can there be global warming w/o a global temp? All temps are local. An average is not a temp. You can have 100 in Chicago and -100 in Antarctica on the same day and get an average of 0, or you can have both places reading 0 on the same day. In both cases, the average would be 0, which would tell you nothing about reality. Does your thermostat run on the global avg? If not, then neither does the planet.

Theory may not equal truth, but the scientific meaning of theory is a lot different than the traditional use. A scientific theory is based off of a number of observations and is backed up by empirical evidence. It may not be truth, but it's close enough to it that it should be accepted until proven wrong.

If you take out one of the coldest areas on earth, there will of course be a strong warming trend shown since 1992. 15,000 weather stations in 1970 have been reduced to 5000 in 2000.
There is no doubt among scientists that our climate is changing (becoming warmer). There is debate on whether humans are the cause and if the changes are reversible/stoppable, but most are leaning towards the hypothesis that humans are the cause.
Global carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) levels are also increasing.

We let ALL of our Lights of Freedom shine ON! So did all of our common sense neighbors (unplanned ... and in a very large neighborhood). There are sooo many ppl who are sick of the man-made global warming and/or climate HOAX & BS. SICK OF LIES perpetuated by the oh-so-compassionate UN, AlBore, eco-freaks, obama & gang, etc., etc....in order to enslave us ever more & more. To clean up your community, do so every week...on a very large scale it becomes political...the politicians have yards of political, bureaucratic BS to get through that doesn't solve anything...but gives tax breaks for certain large companies...and this is my issue with big movements like the green movement. We can accomplish a lot on our own--on a community, city, state level...don't let DC stick their fingers in it...they will use "global" as a word to allow anyone, anywhere to do that.

FYI, Manila, Philippines 2008 Earth Hour saved 50 mega watts.
Earth Hour 2009- Recorded a savings of 450 Mega watts of electricity.!! imagine how many tons of coal we saved from burning by just one hour. imagine how may tons of green house gases was not released? we can do this.!!

1 minute til earth hour here in Texas. Thanks for making me aware. I have just turned all of my lights on. The 3 way bulbs are all being used in full force. Just to make some of you happy I did see an entire family sitting in the dark outside of their house on a street corner with no lights on by a stop sign. I almost ran into them. "While the earth remains seedtime and harvest, SUMMER AND WINTER..." Genesis 8 GOD. The earth and the climate are not going anywhere fools.

Scientists say the Earth is warming. There's no doubt about that. But it's your choice to be in denial, especially when so many experts have tested it and made their conclusion. Just know that it's a stupid one.

2. "No doubt" is a phrase that covers a LOT of territory but is self-evidently disproven.

One other thing...back in the 70's and even into the 90's these wonderful scientists were predicting global cooling. They finally got one of their theories to stick when Environmental Evangelist Al Gore came along with the dim witted people at the UN. Which one is it global warming or cooling? Depends on what year it is, what is popular and what can spread fear and alarm into the most people.

I didn't say that being a scientist meant that you're always right. But when there's an overwhelming majority, along with facts to support that hypothesis, chances are it's correct. Whether the climate is changing because of human activity or not, I still believe that energy conservation is important.

Theory may not equal truth, but the scientific meaning of theory is a lot different than the traditional use. A scientific theory is based off of a number of observations and is backed up by empirical evidence. It may not be truth, but it's close enough to it that it should be accepted until proven wrong.

No, what I'm referring to is that the weather stations in Siberia since the fall of the USSR had not been maintained, leading to fallacious or absent readings. If you take out one of the coldest areas on earth, there will of course be a strong warming trend shown since 1992. 15,000 weather stations in 1970 have been reduced to 5000 in 2000.

There is no doubt among scientists that our climate is changing (becoming warmer). There is debate on whether humans are the cause and if the changes are reversible/stoppable, but most are leaning towards the hypothesis that humans are the cause.
Global carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) levels are also increasing.
