those are altec speakers in that laptop. they're meant to be the best in-builts one can ever find in a laptop. and you're killing them by maxing out the eq.
my brothers girlfriend has one these laptops and they are good laptops but the speakers are tinny Altec Lansing ones ok for listening to music for a while but not for anything loud or bassy
i have a toshiba satellite pro p100 it has harmon/kardon speakers and they sound AMAZING when turned up
I've got a Toshiba laptop (x205-Sli1) with 4 Harman Kardon speakers and a sub built in and they never distort even with wacky EQ settings and full volume.
mine makes that dostortion sound too. it happens when you turn the bass frequency up on media player... but i have a desktop kooked up to my little 8. pretty decent but it bottoms out real easily
How i can install winodws XP proefessional on my dv9000? when i wan't to install thats' writing me "you don't have any installed hard drivers or smth like that" what i need to do ?
Got myself the M-Audio Fast Track Pro about a week back.. Sounds fantastic! The only thing i can put my finger on are the Vista drivers, which is a disaster! The soundcard works nice for about an hour, then it starts messing up the sound.. Luckily this is not a problem in win XP. I think i`m gonna switch pretty soon. IMO Vista is some piece of sh*t!
You can blaim M-Audio for not making it work right with Vista. Its amazing that after a year this OS has been out, some 3rd party sofware makers have still not caught up to Vista, geez... Have you tried SP1? I installed it on my pc and it helped speed it up a little, not that it was slow before, its a newly built gaming system. So far Vista has been awsome. All the incompatability problems are the software makers, not Vista.
show your headphone jack from the laptop,if u dare.
u just connect to the amplifier and boom boom boom!

True that M-Audio is to blame for the bad drivers. I`m glad that you think Vista is awesome, I just don`t like the OS all that good..
