This ice ring is caused by methane gas rising out of the lake and causing a circle. (If you don't believe me look it up yourself) Sorry to be the one to break it to u guys, but I believe in weird phenomena like this too....

In 1992 or 1993 - i think. It was a very strange circle of ice on the river in Sandvika, Norway. Looks quite like the one you have filmed here.

I think this one's for real. Can any eyewitnesses confirm the size or give the location? I'm surprised I haven't run across, but based on post date, it must be fairly recent. Also I beg to differ about the whirlpool under the ice and least in the sense that the main cause is rapid ice forming and mutual carving out of moving and non-moving surfacing in different currents of the stream. Whirlpool implies some circular current or vortex - it's more linear.

Cameras tend to blur when you zoom cause it needs to focus. Also this is not a fake vid cause what's going on is there's an under tow also known as a current under the surface of the ice that's making it spin like that.
