Okay English version is your camera person is in a bad place. I am in health care and have see someone with an axe head in the leg. Better safe than sorry just trying to look out for you freind or spouse I know you would feel bad if that axe hit them in the head. Plus I am typing on a phone and these little keys are hard to hit so I make it short.
Lets see you step away from the alder that will damn near split its self by dropping it on the ground. Split some oak or madrone. Besides i wouldnt let alder or any other crap soft wood in my stove for any reason other then kenneling.
When you are spliting Poplar and that appears to what is being plit here or a wood very similar, well a butter knife works. Lets see the strong man split some White Oak A bit more difficult!
This axe has an awesome handle, works great and has a cool look..... however, some logs are not meant to be split and should be discarded or burned whole...... No self supporter has the time to toil away with difficult firewood.
every log was meant to be split...most wood that is split is for a fireplace or a wood stove and has to fit above the current stand of fire. If a log can be burned whole, there's no reason to split it, unless you need kindling. The axe is not awesome, it's cumbersome. If you swing that wedged sledgehammer at anything under 14 inches and it doesn't split you did something wrong....not 'cuz it's awesome but 'cuz it has a wedge front and WEIGHS A TON
well I just went out and purchased this axe from a guy on Craigslist for $15. I used it on some wet sycamore, about 16 inches long and 24 inch in diameter pieces. the axe will never replace a motorized log splitter but it did better than my 8 lbs maul.

You can just about forget splitting it if it contains a fairly large knot in the log.
I have to borrow my brothers gas wood splitter for that.!
