I was thinking the show used to have better dances and dancers on it, and this proves me right. Pasha always was one of my faves, even when he did keep his top on, lol! But seriously, this is so much better than the lame dances they've had on this season, s#8. They do pretty much nothing but contemporary and hip hop with lame-o 'stories' to the dances. If they'd just dance like this again, I'd be a fan. Now, I'm losing interest. There's no heart to the show anymore. Sigh...

Pasha really developed a personality as the season went on. This dance proves that. And he had so much character even while he had one eye on his partner at all times! So impressive. Sara, meanwhile, was the silent contender, consistently getting better and better while flying under the radar. Loved the two of them in this dance. Pure magic.

@AllYouWantedx As an avid East Coast Swing/Lindy Hopper, I will take your word for it. I have started to learn West Coast, but admittedly am not very good (or experienced) yet. However, after watching this routine multiple times, I found precisely what caused me to think it was supposed to be Lindy - they do a full 8-count lindy swingout (1,2,3&4, 5,6,7&8) at 1:38-1:40. (As opposed to West Coast swing, in which the basic step is a 6-count...1,2,3&4,5&6.)

@celticbelle West Coast Swing comes from Lindy Hop, and just like Lindy, WCS is danced in both 6 and 8 count steps. The West Coast Swing "whip" is identical to the Lindy Swing Out.
