On a more related note, great TD, that was some crazy luck with the blitz the only time i have come close to getting lucky in a bloodbowl game is when i injured two of a khemri teams tomb guardians before they could do anything

it isnt that bad, but this game has its own niche can call it geeky but its more for those tactical board games, with lots of reading, and takes a rather long time to complete one match... Its a bonus if you knew about games workshop products before playin

ye gods man, with better positioning of your aiding elves, you could have had you wardancer on an even str setting (1 dice so your opponent can pick a bad one), or better if you had 1 player with guard (very underrated skill), and she wouldnt have had to dodge any tackle zones to get there. Would have improved your odds of pulling off several fold, so you wouldn't of had to rely on such obscene luck (it was VERY obscene!)

I've been playing BB religiously since its release and I swear the game cheats.

You could be going for a pick up on a 2+ and fail and the opponent could need a pick up on a 6+ and pass the roll every time.

@radiohazard You have to look at it in different angles. I saw a survey , where they compared dicerolls of PC and player, and PC was a LITTLE bit better. So it cheats a little bit (but not so much) because of poor AI. You have to choose order of your actions right, then it will be much more simplier. You also have to know, that  AI is very predictable, so you have to learn to read it. btw: I LOVE this game:)

Pretty crazy ending play ... the dodge into 4 tackles zones (required 6 roll) and then the pass with a tackle zone on the thrower, followed by a catch and score .... crazy push of the odds.

Almost always works for the CPU, though... You get six critical misses in a row and he get six critical successes. I'm not kidding. I don't care about "range rolls checks", this games cheats. That's why when I win (after severeal reloads) it makes all the more satisfying to yell: FUCK YOU to the computer.

@FAButzke I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but this game does not cheat. If you play smart, you should have absolutely no problem beating the comp. For instance, the only reason this half-wit play worked is because the human opponent doesn't know the first thing about setting up a cage. He should have use those 4 players as cage corners (diagonally).

If you really want to learn the game, play it online. You'll get your ass handed to you at first, but then you'll learn the tactics.

No problem, man. I usually don't a problem in beating the AI. I do however when it get very lucky and succeeds in every roll with a critical. Don't get me wrong, I love this game. It's very, very deep and very fun, despite the learning curve.

I'm currently playing an Undead team and haven't lost a match. I have 30 or so wins a 1 draw =D

@FAButzke Right on, man. You're right; the learning curve is pretty steep. I started playing this when Dark Elves Edition came out. It took me a long time to get good at it. If you really want to step up your game, I'd suggest online play. I'm in a private league now, and I still get roasted by the veterans, but I've gotten so much better playing against experienced guys. Also, if you really want to learn, watch BloodBowlUberNoob's channel. He gives the best tutorials I've seen.

well, you could have had this alot easier -

1) cancel the assists, leap to him and you have a 1 die block

2.) you would have needed a lucky bounce of the ball (just like you had)

rest just like you did.

I didnt like 16 turns so I changed it to 20

And I dont like deaths so I disabled it in all games. And I moded few other things like chance to succesfull pick ups because it wass fucking annoying to see about 6 unsuccesfull pickups in a row! I maked it more playable for me

Sounds like you know how to get the best out of the games you play. While some get annoyed at people who mod, or use exploits or even cheats, I firmly believe that a game should be fun, and whatever you do to make it fun for yourself is acceptable. Many times in strategy games I've created maps with just one choke point to enable me to defend easily. And hey, you are so right, blood bowl can be VERY annoying at times. I've nearly smashed my monitor during unfair occurences!

When I play RTS games, assuming its one with more or less unlimited resources, I love building huge fortresses of bases with chokepoints.

sorry Paolo, I had not heard that you could disable the deaths so can't help you. I wish you could do it too, because it is horrible to lose a player you've done well with. But I think that's one of the main aspects of the game. If you ever find a way, please let me know it too. Thanks.

i havent found the solution yet Twighlight. Thank you for your answer. Agreed its tough to accept the loss of your best players. And injuries accomplish the same though, that is removing the player from the match and keeping it fair vs slow bashing teams. But you right its part of the game and i adapted my strategy, now staying at 1 square away from cage and other players. Allowing only one blitz on a player per turn to minimise casualties and cage advancement.

Its better also when players have gained some skills like Block, taking less Ko. Still early campaign tourneys are tough, especially vs Dwarfs! :)

@01Paolo Sorry I didnt see your comment back then. It was some time so maybe you found it by yourself :) What I manage to do was lower the chance to death I think. Before mod death was to often for my liking so I tried to disable it but I think that I oly made it very rare :) better than default game :)

I am not familiar with warhammer games I just like turn based games. Also I dont know why you assumed that I like american football... You are wrong boy. I dont like it but this game is interesting as a strategy game and I like strategy. I just mod it to my liking thats all. Deaths was to often.
