@bamafan5684 What does that mean? Curves are just a preference. There isn't an advantage of one curve over another. A hockey player who uses a flat blade doesn't use it because it's a disadvantage and he wants a challenge. Again, it's all about personal preference. =)
@yuriynyr haha yeah man i know curves are all about preference!:) but i used the term "banana" to describe that most russian players curves have huge toe curves and it just forms to look like a banana..its just a term that is used to describe it i guess.
Members of KLM line were extremely intelligent players. They were not big or overly gifted athletes but they compensated it with brain. You see these guys scoring 16 goals in 3 games against Gretzky and Lemieux team while playing in Canada's barn (Canadians who unfortunately aren't really fond of an idea to play in someone elses barn).
To correct you, Moginly-Fedorov-Bure also played together in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey Exhibition Games against USA, Finland, Sweden, and Germany (Fedorov and Bure did not play the Canada Game, and Bure was purposely injured in the USA game)
And for the record with that line, Russia won EVERY Game including the USA game (full rosters) and tied Canada with just Moginly and Kovalev
They can do the same old trick Americans did in 1980. Ask Russian embassy to swap OGM with some good contacts for corn. He or she will call Bikov in the middle of the final game and politely ask him to loose.
But Canadians have to present something really good. Who knows what will be oil prices in 2010? Russians may not agree to loose el chipo!
@ebutuoy0814 sure enough but russians will always have great hockey players theres no doubt on that. It looks like russia do have some stars in the KHL such as Morozov, Radulov who was the only nashville predators at the time good when he was in the NHL. Im comfused though on why Tretyak didnt pick Zubov hes a great russian defenceman
i have to disagree with you! if you think thats what the Americans back then in 1980s was to call the Russian Embasy to call the game so they can loose it all. Back then it was not like that at all. The players in the old soviet teams they where basically part of the Russian army (red army) as they called them. So throwing a match was basically like loosing and surrending to war. But i guess there are rumers that they could of cause of the stupid decision to pull tretyak.
@gradenje40 fetisov was a defenseman.....he was not on that forward line....larionov was the pivot between vlad krutov and sergei makarov....fetisov played with alexei kasatonov on defense.....that maybe was the best five man unit in hockey history....
that was weird

Russia actually present more skill and a greater play making than Canada.
Canada is not rosted yet, but they will surely have to skate fast not to be nut kicked in their home town.

Kovalev keep alive the tradition with the puck trick.
Don't know of any other NHL player skillful enough to put what he can.
He used the puck flip on his neck in the All-Star Free shootout this year. :)
