Yes, the DH actually caused me to look at the OT with less skepticism when I understood about the two houses of Israel being at war, and sometimes warring within their writings. It's the only thing that makes sense of the doublets and triplets too. I recall in the 7th grade (early 70s) when I stumbled upon a doublet in Genesis, and my parents struggled to provide an answer for it.
How does the DH "increase" problems? How a story affects us is important. Who wrote it hardly matters. If _Tom Sawyer_ were written by an anonymous source it wouldn't change anything pertaining to the way it moved me and what I learned from it. Why would a biblical book be any different?
@medoelkorsan It doesn't solve the problem but it's a step forward, because it debunked the misconceptions involving the way the bible was written.
I'm not sure if you understand how academics work. When we invented the microscope and saw micro-organisms that we haven't seen before it also "increased the problems", when we invented the telescope and saw all the new galaxies it raised more questions and "increased the problem". Do you see where this is going?
What more can be said than that the Monoteistic concept of God appears to be a process of development throughout the history of the bible and the jewish people.
I can live with this hypothesis its an interesting approach.

The guy was brilliant in his day but just as modern technology makes the abacus useless so does modern history and archaeology makes much of Archer's writings obsolete. It's the leading theory in the media and popular books. But it's definitely not in the shcolarly circles. And the point of apologetics is to dialogue with people. There is no point in arguing over this. You obviously buy into this skeptical bs and I obviously don't. It's way easier to be skeptical. Try broadening your horizons beyond William Lane Craig (although very intelligent and a good start) and Archer to real Biblical scholars like Bart Ehrman ( Went to Moody Bible Institute, Princeton U.) Richard Bauckham, Tim Callahan, Robert Price (a one time evangelical preacher), etc...

Archer doesn't present any plausible counter theories. If Christianity is a fundamental truth then why do you need Apologetics? If Xianity was like you want it to be then it would just be history there would be no need to plead your case. There has been critics of the Bible since before it was canonized.

The leading British Orthodox Rabbi named Louis Jacobs lost his position because he accepted it publicly. Read Richard Elliot Friedman's "The Bible with Sources Revealed" for more info on the DH.

I think I heard that the Catholic Church accepts it along with a few orthodox christian sects. Gotta love them Catholics! No skepticism of evolution or the DH. They probably accepted it before most atheists did.
