@robrobichaud @robrobichaud my friend, it is called "kemence" and played generally north part of turkey, region called "karadeniz" (black sea region). It can be played slowly and emotionally, like in this music (I prefer slow version), but in its home karadeniz it is played very fast, because of regions fast folk music. If you want to see fast version just search kemence and watch one of video. But if you want to see some good solo, search "ince saz- neveser longa"

@spiffytiffy05 A Byzantine origined instrument. Early times has 2 strings. Later developed and shaped to last figure by Turks in Ottoman era with 3 strings. This instrument calls "klasik kemençe" (kemençe means some kind of fiddle), "Osmanlı kemençesi" or "İstanbul kemençesi" in Turkish.
