Her name is Sylvie Vartan (not Savie Vartan). This was one of my favorite songs as I was growing up in France. This is the first time that I heard this version though. It's different than the original but still very good. EN ÉCOUTANT LA PLUIE was the French version of RHYTHM OF THE RAIN. This song, which came out in 1963, was done by many groups including Richard Anthony (who wtote this songs) and also by the Cascades.
