Even if Manna Dey sahab had sung only this and no other song .... he would have already been a legend no one would ever be able to surpass ... Even if you are happy and forget this fact, the reality is just what the song says.
WOW! just amazing Manna Dey! I believe Rafi is correct, Manna Dey can sing any song of Rafi, Kishore, and Mukesh. A legend he is! Voice is so soothing!
Manna Dey ji was one of the finest singers in the history of Indian music. This is indeed one of the best songs. Beautifully written, Composed and sang. Very true indeed. This is what happens in life. Even your blood relatives break your heart in time of need :-( Qasmein waaday pyaar wafa sab, baatein hi tou hain baaton ka kya
If I am not wrong, this song was initially offered to Kishor Kumar but he found this song difficult to sing and suggested that Manna Dey would be the best person to give due justice to this song!!! And how beautifully Mannaji sung it...!!!!!
@ileeshmach the comment is also very interesting ( of course song aswell) especially linking to Bhaja Govindam - nice said. on different lines ..... I sometimes think that in few cases god creates destiny but in many cases we are the soul reason (foolishly at times!) and then start crying. I do not know!

very profound.. more than than a cry of despondency.. it is cry seeking detachment... somehow reminds me of Bhaja Govindam - Mohamudgar!
Very beautifully rendered by Manna Dey for Kalyanji Anandji!
