  • On the hostile thing... I think it's just her having her game face on. Whether it's real or just for the show, she's shown a strong competitive streak before the cooking even began. She's more aggressive than hostile, and she obviously has respect for IC Kenichi.

    Most of the chefs that come on this show seem to want to show off their skills and test themselves against the ICs, so of course they're going to go full throttle, y'know?

  • I like how she chose a traditional dress, but it seems to get in her way a couple of times.. especially when time is very crucial?

  • I don't think she was hostile. If you look close Chen is pointing out the pan for her and she has a smile on her face. On the othe hand, I love this show and watch them all several times.

  • I loved liver when I was a meat eater, and I think she chose Chinese because it would seem rather hostile had she chosen the style of cooking of her adopted home vs. her native land.

  • I think the reason why she picked IC Chen is because she probably want to match Schezuan's with Korean's spicy dishes.

    She probably thought that challenging Japanese would put her at a disadvantage. Seeing that the judges are all Japanese, IC Michiba would make dishes that pleases the Japanese palette.

    Not sure what the reason might be for not picking IC Sakai, but it would make for a good show to just show Asian dishes. French dishes are just too common now (western hemisphere @ least).

  • I love liver. Couple of years ago I was involved with smoking about 3 dozen turkeys for a Thanksgiving dinner at my wife's church. No on else wanted them so I got all the livers. Lots of it fried in butter and garlic, a big pot of pate - great stuff!

  • I can't believe that lady calls her self Royal Korean Chef!!! In Japan, she can bullshit through. There are handful of Chefs who has the right to claim linage to the Royal cuisine, and Certifications are usually given by the ministry of Culture. The recipes were a guarded secrets among the chefs and are handed down from master to apprentices for generations. The last Royal chef of Korea (who was the chef for Emperor Gojong before the jap's assassinated him) had only handful of Apprentices.

  • I've never had a problem with eating liver. Of course, the only time I eat liver is when we cook the giblets that come in the Thanksgiving turkey, and that's only a very small amount of liver meat. Is there something about the texture of liver that disgusts people?

  • i wouldve gone with french. Liver is popular in Asia...she shouldve known by picking a french, she will have a big advantage. Chinese and Japanese has some knowledge of Korean food while the French probably has none

    so you must be very skilled to cook the liver very well
