@RossByrne96 arsenal would have been a good move for given. sczesney ( i try to avoid spelling that!) looks good but really should be given a few years to get together- i think he'll turn out a good premiership keeper but he'll make mistakes which could cost arsenal while he's learning. given on a two year contract would be a good move. but city won't sell to a rival, of course.

The Liverpool game was the straw that broke the camels back. I was there and it was totally an embarrassing match (I knew we'd go down after watching that). It was basically Liverpool v Shay Given!

im a chelsea fan and i gota say i as well give credit to shay such a poor defence he had and managed to produce some amazing saves no other keeper could. i think he should of stayed at newcastle but had a poor def which is bad but manchester city has a good def and im sure hell still love newcastle the club he stayed 4 12 years

Shay was such a legend for Newcastle! He is probably the most popular goalkeeper in the premiership, he's never complaining or whinging, just does his job (and well)!

It was that 5-1 thrashing at home to Liverpool that really killed Shay I think. I felt so sorry for him at the end, he stopped it from being like 20-1.
