I am thinking of buying a flip cam for a trip I want to take next summer (I want to live in Ireland and work for the summer) would you recommend buying one for that trip? I would like to record my time there...not sure if I will do a vlog, or just record the fun times I have.
@MsCortz i bought a flip just a few days ago so im not sure if im a good candidate to be responding but i think flip is great. battery life lasts up to 6 hours fully charged. easy to transfer memory onto a computer. but it is true that if has only 1-2 hours of recording time depending on which one your looking at. if you plan on having a computer at your side every night then flip will be great. if not. try something with more memory space.
i personally think that flips suck, i used to have one. they are good for starters, but if you want to get professional than the flip camera would not be the right camera. though i know that I'm definitely not professional lol. but hey that's just my opinion.

These things are really cheap I think I'm gonna get one. I wanna make some driving and car videos with it seems like it would be good for that since its so portable.
Actually redknight802 it doesn't run off 2 batteries like you say. This one - the Flip Mino - has a battery pack built in. The camera can only be charged up from the USB port - no wall charger included.
@ILiveMyFlip when i had one i uploaded a video to utube using the flip i have to make a montage with the flip cd editing software rather than the bit i filmed did i do somthing wrong or do you have to make montage vidoes inorder to upload it to youtube
@ILiveMyFlip i had a flip once but when i used it i go loads of different clips and i wanted to edit them so its like a movie(1 bit of film then the next with no stop or transition effect)but the movie editor on the flip cd only let me make it like a montage video and cut out bits so what other software should i use to make it how i wanted

It runs off 2 double a batteries.

You are right - you can pull of individual frames from the videos, but you can't just take stills like you can with an average digital camera.
