Umm.. No the Tesla Roadster has a range of 240 miles and recharge in 6-8 hrs with 240Volt hookup... BTW I love the TDI.. just letting you know the facts. The Chevy Volt will shake up things though. IT can go 45 miles pure electric, then continue till the gas runs out, another 240 miles or so.. and as long as you keep putting gas in it you can keep driving. Like the Prius only better.
They are dirty in that they produce much more particulates than a petrol car. Surely electricity is the way forward for the car... then just need a clean way to produce electricity.
YOu should see the particulats and soot that come out of a prius, you would be surprised. The prius also emits approx 150% more Carbon Monoxide than a Jetta TDI, even though the jetta has a larger displacement engine.

I dunno what it's called a ''Catalytic converter'' but some where at the start of the exhast pipe close to the engine it's like a filter to reduce CO2 and soot but they all need to be changed and five yrs, it will get bad mpg and grams of CO2 per 100 klm. VW copied all of this stuff because if you haven't noticed it's in the Toyota corolla and avenis. Cars that are not seen in the US. Yet the prius has less co2 and soot.

whats wrong with you a diesel cars can go for hundreds of miles before refueling the tesla can only go 55 miles before recharging for 12 hours
