@neilhinkle6651 only 20? there's like 2 billion people in the U.S., so there are probably thousands of serial killers out there, they're just spread out all over the country. most of the murders only get reported in the local news though, it has to be something exceptionally horrific to get national attention.
@Fifa1227 One of the things i found scary about this film when i first saw it was the idea it could really happen. When you think about it, it could. In some isolated rural texas area or anywhere isolated for that matter, without much civilisatiuon for miles, passers by could be picked off and no one would know.
Hey! Where are the damn flies? What? No wasps or a trail of ants? Give me the job. I'll add some of my morbid know-how! That ought to entertain more people than the pathetic rehash that was exumed in 1986!
So....what's for Bar-B-Q at the disfunctional gas station up ahead?
i fucking love movies like this one, in the past years, they used to make horror movies with this kind of music that, i don't know how to express it... it makes you feel thrilled and kinda scared, but actual horror movies use normal music, so the ambiance is not as scary as the old ones, anyway i'm not very good with english, so i don't know if you get my point
@RestrictedToADULTS You know those shitty horror films today, right? The ones for "ADULTS ONLY" and they aren't even scary,it's a shitty plot with all CG,shitty effects and killing 987879855434 people cause that makes it horror (At least that is what the directors and plot writers think) . Now this..is something more serious.
Totally the story of Ed Gein, taken place in Wisconsin. Am I a bad person that people like Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer make me proud to be a Wisconsinite? Also, the 70s and 80s make good horror movies, not like the shitty ones we have now..

Quite simply one of the best horror soundtracks of all time....if not one of the best film soundtracks of all time....Tobe Hooper & Wayne Bell created sounds never heard before or since....outstanding.
My teacher (who used to be a nurse) worked in the mental hospital in texas where they have the guy that the texas chain saw massacre was based on. and she told us that they had him under so much security because he would go crazy if anyone even look at him
@DeathlyHurtt Leatherface or as others call him Texas Chainsaw Massacre WAS based on the crimes of Ed Gein, he wore skin masks and slaughtered people, if you don't belive it, ask everyone else here or look it up on Wikipedia it even says so.
Ed gein and leather face are only similar in the ways as fallows...ed did wear skin..a vest with titties and a vag ..he did eat human flesh....leatherface did not eat people..only wore the faces ...also the both had furniture made of people!
the 'true' story is very very different to this film, anyways(Well the story line). The only real similarity to Ed Gein(The Inspiration) and leatherface is their characteristics. Wearing skin, furniture made from bones and cannibalism. Still fucked up, but don't think a guy wearing skin ran around texas killing people with chainsaws, never happened! :P
@boyofSins It is kinda based on true events, i dont really like either movies, Original or remake, but i hadnt watched 1974 version since i was 2 lol, so i might change my mind
@alltogetherseperate I heard it wasnt. I saw in a documentary film about that killer ED Gein that he inspired film makers to make chainsaw. Idk what to belive anymore.
@alltogetherseperate it's loosely based on Ed Gein, a killer in America, who killed his victims and then wore their skin. His victims were female, because he wanted to be one himself, and he would even keep the breasts attached to the skin he wore
This film is a real reminder to everyone that there is probably more evil crazies out there, than is already in the prisons and mental institutions!! So do please be on your guard for them, but don't get paranoid!!
i gotta say the remake sucked. i liked this one better. ed gein killed 2 ppl and i think both of them with a shotgun. they got the grave digging part right.
they shot this in texas during the summer. and the house in this film is now a restuarant. never been there- it's texas yuck! they should've stuck with wisconsin.
The remake made me throw my empty beer can at the tv. It was so bad it insulted everything the original stood for. Halfway through I pressed the eject button on my dvd player. That learned me to never watch another remake again, unless it got seriously good reviews.
This movie is based upon Ed Gein , who was a mentally challenged , he dug up graves and made cloths out of skin and bones he found. After a while he became bored and killed two girls. One was found strung up like a a carcuss in Ed's kitchen. He was not a deranged , chain-saw weilding, mad man. Although he did make a mask out of skin, he was just another killer.
I'm going from horror movie to horror movie seperating fact and fiction, this is one thing I like to do. Thank you 4 reading.

leatherface was just a copy of edward geen a wisconsin resident and i dont know if this is a true story or not doesn't seem to be because they have so many different versions

@vinhbethmickie Oh yeah, cuz the rest of the world is full of nice little angels every single one of them except the USA ... I'm obviously being sarcastic if you didn't pick that up. Not to mention, despite the fact that they say this was "based on a true story" the Texas chainsaw massacre never even happened.
@fuzzy7277 the way they put us in, i believe somehow, there were the truth somewhere in this movie. maybe you dont even know becuz the usa is too large to explore! i also believe there are bunches of freaky cannibals in the us.
@fuzzy7277 my point was yeah, there are bad people in the usa, but there are bad people all over the world as well. like you said, just as the usa is too big to explore, so is the WHOLE WORLD...
@fuzzy7277 Fact is --> The USA is the most stupid place on this world xD I mean look how proud they are about their motherfuckin shithole of country. Most americans don't even know that there are other continents. I don't want to know what the average IQ of a american is :'D
@KeNnYoOsHoX2 First off, that's an opinion, NOT a fact. I'm an American and my IQ is 122, I am also quite aware that there are other places on this planet, and so is my family and so are my friends and so are pretty much everyone I know sooooo which Americans have you been talking to huh? Either way, my point is legitimate -- there are people everywhere killing each other, American or not. Also, we're definitely not stupid. most of us anyway, and if you think so, you should see a doctor, tard.
I am an American first and I latino second. THere are dumb people everywhere. I used to think like you until I went to college and I found out there are lots of dumb people outside of America. They are middle eastern, asians, and europeans. You cant single out one nation b/c there are dumb people everywhere
@KeNnYoOsHoX2 Well seeing as the IQ test is a relative intellegence test, the average IQ of an american would be 100. That's how it works. Now stop making outragous and uneducated comments.
I'm 33 years old, and this film STILL gets me to this day. It's just as scary now as it was when I first saw it 26 years ago.

@fuzzy7277 the way they put us in, i believe somehow, there were the truth somewhere in this movie. maybe you dont even know becuz the usa is too large to explore! i also believe there are bunches of freaky cannibals in the us.
vinhbethmickie 11 months ago
@fuzzy7277 my point was yeah, there are bad people in the usa, but there are bad people all over the world as well. like you said, just as the usa is too big to explore, so is the WHOLE WORLD...

@fuzzy7277 Fact is --> The USA is the most stupid place on this world xD I mean look how proud they are about their motherfuckin shithole of country. Most americans don't even know that there are other continents. I don't want to know what the average IQ of a american is :'D
KeNnYoOsHoX2 11 months ago
@KeNnYoOsHoX2 First off, that's an opinion, NOT a fact. I'm an American and my IQ is 122, I am also quite aware that there are other places on this planet, and so is my family and so are my friends and so are pretty much everyone I know sooooo which Americans have you been talking to huh? Either way, my point is legitimate -- there are people everywhere killing each other, American or not. Also, we're definitely not stupid. most of us anyway, and if you think so, you should see a doctor, tard.

@KeNnYoOsHoX2
I am an American first and I latino second. THere are dumb people everywhere. I used to think like you until I went to college and I found out there are lots of dumb people outside of America. They are middle eastern, asians, and europeans. You cant single out one nation b/c there are dumb people everywhere
siegfried0752 11 months ago
@KeNnYoOsHoX2 Well seeing as the IQ test is a relative intellegence test, the average IQ of an american would be 100. That's how it works. Now stop making outragous and uneducated comments.
