  • I'm 33 years old, and this film STILL gets me to this day. It's just as scary now as it was when I first saw it 26 years ago.

  • @flopsyforce141 Hhahaha mee too. I read the comments and Im already scared...

  • @Fifa1227 statistically speaking there are 20 serial killers in the U.S at any given time so it's not just in Texas. Sleep good! :)

  • @neilhinkle6651 only 20? there's like 2 billion people in the U.S., so there are probably thousands of serial killers out there, they're just spread out all over the country. most of the murders only get reported in the local news though, it has to be something exceptionally horrific to get national attention.

  • does anyone think theres a guy just like that doing the same thing over again in texas in 2012?

  • @Fifa1227 One of the things i found scary about this film when i first saw it was the idea it could really happen. When you think about it, it could. In some isolated rural texas area or anywhere isolated for that matter, without much civilisatiuon for miles, passers by could be picked off and no one would know.

  • @shabtash it could acctually happen to u right now :)

  • poor baby

  • Have never watched the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, looking forward to it :)

  • lol hippies

  • teri mcminn is a hot babe i would like to put my head between her legs eat her pussy and suck out her asshole

  • FUCK IM 14 AND IM GOING TO CRY MYSELF TO SLEEP

  • That's why we bury most of our dead "casket in cement vault"

  • @MsFattyNinja no. But someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believed that the killer is based somewhat off Ed Gein?

  • i use to be a chainsaw wielding psycho killer like you,... then i took an arrow to the knee

  • @jecklestein777 shut up otherwise you will take a arrow to the ass...by leatherface

those arrow in the knee jokes are past...I doubt you know where they came from

  • teri mcminn is a hot babe i would like to put my head between her legs eat her pussy and suck out her asshole

  • lsd + this movie = serious mental problems

  • Hey! Where are the damn flies? What? No wasps or a trail of ants? Give me the job. I'll add some of my morbid know-how! That ought to entertain more people than the pathetic rehash that was exumed in 1986!

So....what's for Bar-B-Q at the disfunctional gas station up ahead?

  • i watched this movie when i was 5 yrs old at the drive-in when it came out before thier was ratings on movies. had bad dreams for a week..........

  • 2:16 what happed to u grandpa joe

  • there's always a fat guy...

  • i fucking love movies like this one, in the past years, they used to make horror movies with this kind of music that, i don't know how to express it... it makes you feel thrilled and kinda scared, but actual horror movies use normal music, so the ambiance is not as scary as the old ones, anyway i'm not very good with english, so i don't know if you get my point

  • this film didnt really scare me, it more just grossed me out.

  • This movie shows that you don't need an insane amount gore or a high body count to have a great horror film

  • why is it called "chain saw" nat chainsaw?

  • Home alone. Plus this movie. Equals scarred for life....

  • i got the mask the chainsaw and the movies

thas how much i am a fan

  • @Cristalis2Gee what kind and what model chainsaw is it?

  • Loooove it!

  • that's tighter than dickskin, man

  • @mispooh7 nothing wrong w that!

  • This is the best, because its the original and i just love it xx

  • This is one of the most horrifying films i have ever seen.

in my opinion it is still a film for Adults only.

  • @RestrictedToADULTS You know those shitty horror films today, right? The ones for "ADULTS ONLY" and they aren't even scary,it's a shitty plot with all CG,shitty effects and killing 987879855434 people cause that makes it horror (At least that is what the directors and plot writers think) . Now this..is something more serious.

  • @Ragefire11

    Absolutely.

  • @RestrictedToADULTS it is for real , first time i saw it i was completely scared cause i saw it at 3 am first time in 2004

  • @RestrictedToADULTS you dont see evil dead or freddy right? o and british get out of Malvinas

  • Totally the story of Ed Gein, taken place in Wisconsin. Am I a bad person that people like Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer make me proud to be a Wisconsinite? Also, the 70s and 80s make good horror movies, not like the shitty ones we have now..

  • @XbluejuiceXx u cant help that part u were born there lol i thought ed gein was tx ? hmm idk iif you think ur bad i love watching stories of ppl like gien bundy dalhmer dont wask y i guess just to learn more for possiveles law career idk but there are instering to me and always have been

  • Totally the story of Ed Gein, taken place in Wisconsin. Am I a bad person that people like Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer make me proud to be a Wisconsinite?

  • poor franklin :(

  • teri mcminn is a hot babe i would like to put my head between her legs eat her pussy and suck out her asshole

  • It doesn't matter how many times I watch this movie, when I see the part where the wheel chair bound guy goes flying down the hill I laugh my ass off!

  • @Dougy345 Oh, you say so? XD

  • the texas chainsaw massacre once you stop screaming youell start talking about it

  • Don't worry vegan wannabe girl... almost all the meat nowadays is fake

  • 04:48 i totally thought it's going to drove over this thing and like the blood everywhere >_<

  • macabre.

  • @nowwithmorekick You don't know what that is?

  • @megadethifyify No.I just thought it was kind of funny they threw that word in there at the time.I was crazy drunk watching this.

  • @nowwithmorekick Oh. Good movie, huh?

  • @megadethifyify I thought one of the newer ones was better.I forget what one it was.But i only liked one of the newer ones and this one. I don't like any other Chainsaw Massacre movies.

  • I watched 3 alien movies 3 predators 5 halloweens 3 friday the thirteenths 1 nightmare on elm street, the omen and 2 AVPs without flinching, I may not be able to watch this

  • @SuperNatashalover this is insanely remotely based on Ed Gien who only killed 2 women and stole bodies from graves

  • Thanks for sharing this :)

  • Very creepy indeed. This is a classic and one of the greatest horror movies ever made.

  • Quite simply one of the best horror soundtracks of all time....if not one of the best film soundtracks of all time....Tobe Hooper & Wayne Bell created sounds never heard before or since....outstanding.

  • The king of low budget horror.

  • @thepaperbag000 ... almots free budget, the actors had (and have) to pay to participate in this kind of films, a classic.

  • After watching the original i figured out what a piece of trash the remake from 2003 is.

  • @SuperJuliusC i agree :)

  • For those of you who are wondering... This movie was over-dubbed so as to avoid copyright so that the movie could be posted here on YouTube.

  • 6:27 Is it just me or does that guy look like a cheap-ass John Lennon clone?

  • Wait a minute! Wasn't the opening monologue originally recorded by John Larroquette? Why was this overdubbed? That just ruined the entire film.

  • My teacher (who used to be a nurse) worked in the mental hospital in texas where they have the guy that the texas chain saw massacre was based on. and she told us that they had him under so much security because he would go crazy if anyone even look at him

  • @SuperNatashalover FOR REAL

  • @SuperNatashalover Your teacher is so stupid she threw a rock at the ground & missed!!!

  • @SuperNatashalover This is based on Ed Gein very, very loosely.

  • @SuperNatashalover

this can't be cause it never happened like this :) like any other movie on "real circumstances" this refers to Ed Gein

  • They just never caught leatherface!!!!

  • I live in Texas and ish did happen belive what u want...leatherface was not based off ed gein there cases are just similar!

  • @DeathlyHurtt Leatherface or as others call him Texas Chainsaw Massacre WAS based on the crimes of Ed Gein, he wore skin masks and slaughtered people, if you don't belive it, ask everyone else here or look it up on Wikipedia it even says so.

  • Ed gein and leather face are only similar in the ways as fallows...ed did wear skin..a vest with titties and a vag ..he did eat human flesh....leatherface did not eat people..only wore the faces ...also the both had furniture made of people!

  • ed gein!!!!!

  • the 'true' story is very very different to this film, anyways(Well the story line). The only real similarity to Ed Gein(The Inspiration) and leatherface is their characteristics. Wearing skin, furniture made from bones and cannibalism. Still fucked up, but don't think a guy wearing skin ran around texas killing people with chainsaws, never happened! :P

  • horror movies are always really scary when there based on a true story

  • @Gunnedpunk totally fkkin agree if iculd give u 30 thumbs up iwuld, but ican only give u 1 for now lol

  • @Gunnedpunk its not based on a true story its "inspired" by a true story.

  • @boyofSins It is kinda based on true events, i dont really like either movies, Original or remake, but i hadnt watched 1974 version since i was 2 lol, so i might change my mind

  • older scary movies have ridiculously funny actors but atleast they didnt rely in stupid cgi for everything special fx are better

  • Does it make me a bad person that I laugh whenever I see Franklin role down the hill and fly out of the wheel chair?!

  • @Purplecatsoup30 lol sorta i guess. hahaha

  • The Teaxs Chainsaw Masscre the movie is freakin awesome....and i love to show horror movies

  • The only good thing about the remake is R lee ermey

  • Umm yes this was real. This is based off of a morbidly true story..

  • @alltogetherseperate I heard it wasnt. I saw in a documentary film about that killer ED Gein that he inspired film makers to make chainsaw. Idk what to belive anymore.

  • @alltogetherseperate lol nice choice of words :) morbidly :P

  • @alltogetherseperate it's loosely based on Ed Gein, a killer in America, who killed his victims and then wore their skin. His victims were female, because he wanted to be one himself, and he would even keep the breasts attached to the skin he wore

  • i heard tht they never found the guy

  • @xhowlowcanugo ...it wasnt real...

  • @Ashleyfaulk sexy voice gradpa you got there =D

  • This is really mostly a true story, but it frightened people so much that they did a pretty good job of covereing it up..

  • This film is a real reminder to everyone that there is probably more evil crazies out there, than is already in the prisons and mental institutions!! So do please be on your guard for them, but don't get paranoid!!

  • thats the thing that gets me no one has ever hot leatherface cuz that would end it all

  • i gotta say the remake sucked. i liked this one better. ed gein killed 2 ppl and i think both of them with a shotgun. they got the grave digging part right.

they shot this in texas during the summer. and the house in this film is now a restuarant. never been there- it's texas yuck! they should've stuck with wisconsin.

  • Jason vs Leatherface...who'd win?

  • @autumnhedlund idk, but i probably have to say jason, (PLEASE NO ONE HURT ME) cuz jason's not techinecally human :b

  • @KittyKazooTV True, and pluse Leatherface is just a scared retarded lil boy on the inside (and he's human) But he's still a beast :P

  • @autumnhedlund you know it. that huge bastard scares the crap outta me!! XD

  • That shutter sound scares the shxt out of me !!!!!!

  • I agree! Classic there!!!!

  • nothing like a classic :)

  • in the anals of american history?

  • 4:39 D8 POOR ARMADILLO!

  • @Jenga18260

    it was originally a dog.

  • @SandersonCallum Ha I know I saw the special features on the special edition

  • Wait is this the remake?

  • @cluefinder29

    'remake' sucks..

  • @cluefinder29 This is the original...the remake was made in 2003

  • this scared the shit out of me, the remake made me laugh

  • @cosmokramer41 ennit

  • @cosmokramer41

The remake made me throw my empty beer can at the tv. It was so bad it insulted everything the original stood for. Halfway through I pressed the eject button on my dvd player. That learned me to never watch another remake again, unless it got seriously good reviews.

  • @McLarenMercedes yeah dude same with me, michael bay is seriously pissing me off

  • The one disliker is FOREVER ALONE.

  • this s better than the 2003 remake

  • @CoDbOPlayer1

you are smart for a CoD player.

  • @SandersonCallum i know lol

  • Who the fuck said it was real? Ur a bone head if you think this is based from a real story. Yeah Ed was a real person but not leather face!

  • jey but ist old 37 jeahrs but ist ever time good

  • @Feenster97

    Your welcome

  • thank you so much for uploading this

  • This movie is based upon Ed Gein , who was a mentally challenged , he dug up graves and made cloths out of skin and bones he found. After a while he became bored and killed two girls. One was found strung up like a a carcuss in Ed's kitchen. He was not a deranged , chain-saw weilding, mad man. Although he did make a mask out of skin, he was just another killer.

I'm going from horror movie to horror movie seperating fact and fiction, this is one thing I like to do. Thank you 4 reading.

  • sick, disgusting, twisted, awesome!

as grizzly as genius! even if it was one of the most disturbing movies i have ever seen... there was -without any doubt- a certain macaber aesthetic.

  • I meant franklin was scooby lol sorry

  • Its the scooby doo gang. Freds drivin the mystery machine and franklin is shaggy lol searchn for clues at graveyard for the missing bodies lol

  • @bud8fan1 lol, that would be hilarious if the Scooby Doo Gang ever tried to solve the mystery of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre XD Would make for a great episode.

  • @sillygrl23 I LOL'd so hard! I would watch that fo shizzle yo! Maybe they could make a new Scooby Doo movie: Freddie Prinze jr. gets ripped to shreds!!!

  • Bobby Flay is driving the van!

  • The original is best

  • It's so fucked up that it's real..

  • @ImInzide this is not real its based on a guy ths movie and psycho and i think silent of the lambs r all based on ed gein

  • @PELONSOLDIES no silent of the lambs is based on hannibak the cannibal ( hanibal lector)

  • OLD HORROR MOVIES were the best. Ex. Carrie was good until they remade it in 2002 and ruined it by using a crappy green screen. I love this movie!!

  • This was made even before I was born but its still one of the scariest movies ever made. It beats any of the so called scary movies made these days

  • Lol, I heard about this movie first time when I was playing GTA: Vice City about 10 years old. There was a small apartment with chainsaw and blood everywhere :D

  • god i was 11 years old whin i see some of this movie in video store 8 pm then i feel really scare and i run and run and run to may hose hahahaha

  • leatherface was just a copy of edward geen a wisconsin resident and i dont know if this is a true story or not doesn't seem to be because they have so many different versions

  • i remember for my 14th me and my mates stayed up and watched this film lol memories.

  • What was it with the seventies and sixties about guys referring to thier girlfriends as "Thier old lady"? Even if they are like in thier teens or twenties. I don't get that.

  • @sillygrl23 Didn't they use it to refer to parents?

  • why can't you people just enjoy this masterpiece of a movie instead of turning everything into a political debate?! I mean jeez. Get a beer, relax and enjoy the movie!

  • That looks like a realy body at the begining its sick. How did they do that?

  • the usa contains a bunch of murderous psychotic killers! fuck them all!

  • @vinhbethmickie Oh yeah, cuz the rest of the world is full of nice little angels every single one of them except the USA ... I'm obviously being sarcastic if you didn't pick that up. Not to mention, despite the fact that they say this was "based on a true story" the Texas chainsaw massacre never even happened.

  • @fuzzy7277 the way they put us in, i believe somehow, there were the truth somewhere in this movie. maybe you dont even know becuz the usa is too large to explore! i also believe there are bunches of freaky cannibals in the us.

  • @fuzzy7277 my point was yeah, there are bad people in the usa, but there are bad people all over the world as well. like you said, just as the usa is too big to explore, so is the WHOLE WORLD...

  • @fuzzy7277 Fact is --> The USA is the most stupid place on this world xD I mean look how proud they are about their motherfuckin shithole of country. Most americans don't even know that there are other continents. I don't want to know what the average IQ of a american is :'D

  • @KeNnYoOsHoX2 First off, that's an opinion, NOT a fact. I'm an American and my IQ is 122, I am also quite aware that there are other places on this planet, and so is my family and so are my friends and so are pretty much everyone I know sooooo which Americans have you been talking to huh? Either way, my point is legitimate -- there are people everywhere killing each other, American or not. Also, we're definitely not stupid. most of us anyway, and if you think so, you should see a doctor, tard.

  • @KeNnYoOsHoX2

I am an American first and I latino second. THere are dumb people everywhere. I used to think like you until I went to college and I found out there are lots of dumb people outside of America. They are middle eastern, asians, and europeans. You cant single out one nation b/c there are dumb people everywhere

  • @KeNnYoOsHoX2 Well seeing as the IQ test is a relative intellegence test, the average IQ of an american would be 100. That's how it works. Now stop making outragous and uneducated comments.

  • Damn. And I live in Texas :/

  • @SuperTeeV yeah and someday, u'll be end up just like them!

  • i love hearing about all the towns ive been to unlike movies in new york or hollywood hooray for Texans

  • lol URANNAS

  • Yay the original movie is better then all the remakes :P

  • This movie is so Freaky and Weird and i love it :DD

  • I just took photos at that cemetery today. i got some photos right up in front of where that body was strung up on the monument. Creepy as hell.

  • is not scary man atleast i get to sleep at night lol :D
