He said what he had to while campaigning to ensure the votes of all the ignorant people. The slogans of "change" and "yes, we can" appealed to those people and now in this acceptance speech, he was able to hide behind those words. He didn't specifically backtrack. He backtracked as a whole on his entire agenda. While he admitted that he will probably fail, the crowd chanted those words without meaning and you can see in his smirk that his plan worked. This is truly the ignorance of America.

Easy, he pretty much fessed up that things won't get fixed in his first term. Then again, pretty confident he will be gone after 4 years. He's a con artist. He won only because of his fairy tail tax plan. Now, the tax cuts for the rich will remain until 2011 (back track #1) and the tax cuts for the middle class put on hold (back track #2)...Obama, Yes We Can....What a joke!

He said nothing here people didn't already know. When he's campaigning, he's saying things he needs to say to get elected. Now, he's just putting things in realistic terms. He can't change the world you know, he's only one person.

In a dream world, maybe. Not in this world, and certainly not in the USA. Obama will change a lot of things, and will definitely improve America overall, but there won't be as much change as people seem to think.

Alexander the Great certainly changed the world - Last time I checked he was one person and they didn't have cloning technology back then - so, I'm pretty sure one person has already achieved the goal of changing the world. Mmm, throw in Christ for a second guy who changed the world.

i dont hear no backtracking ,i hear obama being honest with the people ,get out of your box,and give up the path of politics of divisions,fear and hatred and give him a chance,, and respect the voice of 65 million people who want this man to lead and end the politics as usuall.
