  • Don't you love it when they take your money and use it to build a giant "law enforcement" establishment to control you? When things go bad in this country, and sure as shit, they will, citizens, you better be ready. Look to Syria to see the future. They can only print money to disguise our bankruptcy for so long.

  • Welcome to the revol u tion.

  • This took a lot of courage to do. Bravo!

  • Just a small notice: cost and payments refer to voluntary business, not extortion's (taxes)

  • BRAVE!!!

  • Your property taxes go to a school system with unionized employees. YOUR fat property tax bill goes to fund teachers that get full pension, free healthcare, and overly inflated wages.

  • This video is an ultimate fail. All you succeeded in doing was making the poor clerk that works there count it all and then be humiliated on camera while you are yelling political crap. Great, so Keene got its money and you go after a poor soccer mom. All you've done in this video is come off as a coward that goes after defenseless people. Oh, except the part where you chase a cop with a camera because you were asked to leave.

  • Why are people like this being arrested while people like those of the Westboro church are "protected by the constitution"

  • @ADVERTlSEMENT you have to protect everyone regardless of beliefs or no one is protected

  • @TheBearnuts Most religions practice peacefully, Westboro is malevolent. They do things just to piss off people, and when people start protesting Westboro, the Church sues the government for millions of dollars. They've won many cases under "freedom of religion". Do you really think this kind of scam group is in the same category as a regular church?

  • @ADVERTlSEMENT As a Marine, I have nothing but contempt for the Westboro Batist Church. Their practice of picketing military funerals is abhorent but under the Constitution they are free to practice their beliefs. It is when people being qualifying religions or anything for that matter, that it becomes a morality issue. Who decides what's a "bad" religion and what is a "regular church" as you put it. We need to realize that the Constitution protects everything, even that which you don't agree

  • @TheBearnuts I'm not saying that Westboro shouldn't be allowed to practice religion. I'm saying that they are more of a cult/scam group rather than a religion, and only piss people off to get money from the government.

  • would've been funnier in Australia-we have $1 coins..lol

  • @MsSambo73 I have heard about people paying in pennies

  • @truckdawg43 Santa Clara county, California, has a law in their book that says they are not required to accept coins in payment.

    Learned from experience.

  • Good job. I wonder how low a denomination they would go, quarters anyone?

  • Good Job. Well Done. Using the $1 bills got their attention. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Excellent commentary.

  • This is awesome, altho I hate $1 bills. I think you shouldve just paid and then if they asked, you could explain. You seemed a bit loud and obnoxious. On the other hand, this whole thing was kind of awesome and I salute your efforts.

  • @kirby4d ian is in no way loud and obnoxious. maybe to those who are on the recieveing end of the protest, but he is a very nice and calm guy.

  • @wtfisthatsmell Oh Im sure. I meant in the context of this.

  • @kirby4d ah gotcha.

  • We are serfs and tax slaves on our own property. We rent our property. We don't own our property after it is paid for. I don't want their services, BFI garbage service is 37 dollars every 3 months, my house burned down because the fire hydrant didn't work, the police in my town are more violent than our criminals. I am sorry to say our federation of states is over.

  • Ian Bernard...not man enough to use his real name. I'm going to assume Ian hasn't gotten laid in 5 years.

  • "all right, thats that" Good job man, you accomplished jack shit. "I don't want people put in prison cells who havent hurt anybody or done damage to property." If someone films me and I don't want them too, and they refuse to stop, I want that motherfucker to be put in jail or get fucked up. His choice. These people are why I'm ashamed to call myself a liberal sometimes.

  • problem is that you only discharged the obligation, you failed to pay the debt, nothing but gold and silver can pay a debt. you would have done better to pay in quarters as they are U.S mint, Federal reserve notes are private bank notes and are in law not legal tender.

  • I'm a Libertarian, however, this guy is nuts. You need a property tax. He's saying those who don't pay it aren't harmful. Well, nor are thieves yet they are arrested. Arrest doesn't need to be based off of one being violent.

  • @YoungIvyScholar Property tax for what? What service is he being forced to pay the property tax for? You do understand that the "services" you pay to the government are held by the government because they have a monopoly on violence don't you?

  • @DavidValley To keep his property on American soil.

  • @YoungIvyScholar Why does he have to pay someone for that? Because the government "protects" him? Isn't that like the mob coming into your store and extorting money from you for the protection they give you?

  • @DavidValley There's a difference. The mob doesn't rule the country.

  • @YoungIvyScholar Sorry, if you have to pay property tax, you don't own your property. There is another term for that...its called paying RENT to your landlord. You are basically saying the government owns everything....wait, you said you were a Libertarian?

  • @RadiantMirage Paying a tax on your property to help humanity does not mean that "the government owns everything." Stop watching so much Fox Not News...

  • @YoungIvyScholar Help Humanity? What a joke that is, most of that money goes to busybodies who try to run everyone's lives. Also, don't try to equate charity with force. If the government can force you to pay a property tax, then it owns your property. If you support people being forced to pay property taxes because you believe they "help humanity", you are supporting a class of aristocratic landlords. Also, don't put in me in some cookie cutter "Fox News watcher" group, that network is garbage.

  • I disagree with the execution, but I totally agree with the motive and, to some degree, I even agree with the tactics. It has to start somewhere. Your cage gets rattled. These people are a part of the system that rattles cages. I guess it only makes sense that they get a cage rattling themselves.

Then again, now they hate you and will act against you in the future. As where they cou'd've been allies they are now embittered enemies.

Still, I wish you peace and happiness.

  • That's one way to get a captive audience.

  • you are the man!!!

  • @thecynicalamerican There's nothing wrong with government workers. People gotta do what they gotta do to make a living.

    Fuck the government!

  • How is this peaceful? He comes across as pretty hostile and out of line given the setting

  • @travviswavvis Did he strike anyone? Did he physically harm anyone at all? The only violence that went on in that whole video was when a guy with a gun came in and kicked people out of a "public" place.

  • There are ways to get out of property taxes...this is not the way.

Make sure that where the bottom line is on the tax bill...that there is a Dollar sign ($). If not you can pay in whatever...jelly beans, coffee beans or whatever. It is a rule of commerce that a bill must indicate a currency.

  • Thats fine....if you dont want to pay property taxes. That means that if I come and I beat the shit out of you and lock up your family in the basement and take your house over...that you wont be able to call anyone to do anything about it. Seeing how you dont pay any taxes that pay government employees to come and save you. I literally can come a house jack you and there would be little or nothing you can do about it.

  • @anger42 It's really sad how people like you can't think outside the box... Is there really no way to fund personal security other than by forced taxation? You think so?

  • It is so sad to see how quickly citizens resort to violence when asked to honor principles such as peace and freedom.

The government employees either called on police violence to suppress free speech and information -- or they hid like cowards turning their backs and pretending to not hear the words of this man of peace and rationality.

Shameful bureaucratic mindsets have erased their morality and integrity.

  • Very inspiring.

You are trying to move civilization forward. Bureaucrats try to move it in reverse.

    Let's keep pushing.

  • awesome!!!

  • I just realized that Ian's last name is very appropriate.

  • Great video

Shows you what a joke this government is

  • Well done.

  • Great job! Need more people like you guy's!!!

  • this is such a great idea ...love this man

  • Awesom Job Ian & Sam and the other Free State people who are helping to spread the message of Freedom & Truth - Showing the world how these criminal bureaucracies misuse their power and abuse the people of this country.

I love how they pay with one dollar bills and I love how Ian shut that Statist serf down when he (the guy in the red shirt) tried to defend the statist bureaucratic agency - then they try kicking them out while making a payment.

    peace. love. anarchy

  • So Sam will stand behind his friend and possibly air confidential information about others, while violating their right to not be on camera. But when his rights are "infringed upon" its the fault of everyone but him? like in the airport he was so upset the cop was giving out his information. Also people do expect privacy when they are paying those bills, which is why each individual clerk doesn't bring 3-4 people over at a time to do their taxes. Grats you're a hypocrit.

  • @oswald2872 In public you do not have the right to not be on camera. Are you going to go up to a tourist in Times Sq. NYC and tell them to stop filming their vacation because their are millions of people walking around the street? I think not. Sam has every right to film inside of a public building, a building which is being payed for by public tax dollars. If those people didn't want to be on camera, all they had to do was leave or turn around.

  • Got me thinking... law-abiding taxpayers basically subsidize those who commit ACTUAL CRIMES. Therefore, the penal system should have always been self-funded, by prison labor, and prisoners should always have been only those who committed actual infractions against the person or property of others. All other imprisonments are unjust. Of course, this is an argument against the extension of prison time to victimless crimes that has grown directly with the growth of big govt.

  • @hughtub Prison labor used to be how things were done, but then the labor unions got involved and, well,... let's just say that prisoners couldn't "earn" their freedom in the private sector after unions blocked them from doing so.

  • Should have paid in pennies

  • She didn't like him recording because she knew the clerk for rude for complaining about the money. The biotch was low class sticking her finger up at him like he was some threatening her, which he was not.

  • Notice how the cop didn't arrest him. Cop knew the guy was not a troublemaker and had a valid argument. Cop probably didn't like his high taxes either. Would have been different if he'd hit someone. He was nice enough to offer everyone pizza.

  • Since he was a "customer" what happened to "customer oriented" "salesclerks." Where's the customer orientation, complaining about the money. To have him as their customer, they should shaking his hand, saying, Thank you for your "PATRONAGE," if not for your "BUSINESS," we would not have a JOB"

  • Are you hearing the words the bureaucrats are using? 'Business', customer' etc..., all corporation terminology, not de jure (lawful) government words. Another thing, according to UCC contracts gotten by duress are voidable. Thus, any cop who initiates to contract with you by virtue of the fact that his offer to contract is backed by a loaded weapon strapped to his waist voids the contract before it's even offered.

  • Property tax on primary domiciles is fundamentally EVIL. It's about time some people started to do this kind of activism, since the letter writing campaigns have fallen on deaf ears. First, we will come with cameras, but if the government continues to ignore and steal from us, we the people may come with less peaceful gear in our possession.

Property ownership in the US is a farce and a lie. As long as it can be taxed, it can be taken away by force, paid for by your taxes.

  • Bills follow orders. Every time you place an order at a store you get a bill that you're obligated to pay. When cops and judges give you orders and those orders are fulfilled they are liable/obligated to pay the bill for your services.

  • It must suck to work in the county collections in a Live Free or Die state

  • ... Pizza is too expensive these days.

  • I really hate when people think that they have a right to stop me from recording.

  • Great job!!!!!! keep up the good work. I think I will do the same thing.

  • Thank you. we need more people willing to fight like us.

  • You guys are awesome, thank you for sharing this video. Best of luck to all of you.

    Peace.

  • this is just dumb. these people obviously have no clue what this dude's talking about. he'd have more of luck telling this to someone in charge and he'd probably get the reaction he's looking for. otherwise he's just making an ass of himself.

  • Expecting employees to understand the role the play in an organization is not 'dumb.'

  • "You're a douch bag for having such a hypocritical view of the situation. In fact you're an asshole for posting this on YouTube which, I might add, was a complete waste of my time. The only thing that kept me watching was the hope of watching you get tazered you ignorant little prick."

That's what a regular 16 year old dimwit would say. I say Karma is real. Whoever is wrong gets what's coming. Up down turn around, all that good stuff.

  • right on Ian! show those fascist pigs whats what!

  • Beautiful... beautiful

  • What kind of pizza was it?

  • somehow i don't think freestaters hold enough intelligence to properly quote thomas jefferson. afterall, you all choose to be stupid. thomas jefferson also said that in order for a government to work properly there needed to be a revolution every 14 years. i don't know about you, but to me that sounds a bit hysterical. maybe if we stopped paying taxes and funding our schools our status quo would be just smart enough to read street signs that tell us not to cross a road with cars passing by.

  • Mailman - Beyond the ad hominem attack on free staters, were you actually trying to make a point?

Do you think Jefferson might have been well aware of the tendency government has to grow behond it's authority, ad replacing it every 20 or so years keeps it from growing too oppressive?

Washington put it this way, "is like fire, a handy servant, but a dangerous master." But I'm sure you already knew that since the government taught you all about how it grows out of control; Didn't they?

  • Jefferson was a racist who kept his own children as slaves. Just a fact.

  • I FULLY SUPPORT YOU GUYS! In times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act - George Orwell

  • Fantastic! Ian, Sam ... I've got a great deal of respect for you guys. Keep up the good work. They don't know how to "handle" you, and that's awesome.

  • We love you Ian, and apprecate everything you do to fight for our freedom.

  • If anyone does not want to be recorded then don't go out in public. Child support, fees, fines and taxes are what fund our own demise! So stop supporting the arrogant, corrupt, criminal, evil, awry government and system. Without funds it can't function. It just takes enough of us citizens and freedom defenders (strength in numbers) to carry guns and withhold fees, fines and taxes to bankrupt and overpower the government!

  • Child support isn't paid to the government. It is paid to feed and cloth the child or children of the parent paying the child support. Child support is a responsibility not a tax. It only becomes a tax when people refuse to pay for their own children.

Bet you expect people to not use taxes to pay for their own kids education. But how do you justify other people paying to feed, house and cloth your kids with taxes?

  • You got some BALLS. Bravo!!

  • 5 stars, everyone needs to do this.

  • That would have been a lot of pennies to haul around. You should try it!

Also, you can't stamp pennies like you can with ones. My dollar bills were promoting Free Talk Live and Free Keene, so it was doubly useful.

  • I'm done responding to all of this. I wish you all luck! Obviously what I think is way different than how you think and thats ok. Again I wish you luck.

  • Keene activism=state of the art

    Well done!

  • Standforamerica, there are some places in where water, sewer, and yes even unbelievably garbage collection is done by individuals and private companies. (In the very city that happened in garbage is private.) -- If we are actually free in America.. why can't we just choose what state services we want and what ones we don't? You yourself .. did you notice that you DID NOT say that those that do not want to pay should be put in prison and have their home taken. Did you.. that is telling.

  • Way to go Ian. It's a harsh thing to do.. ya know.. to go in and harass those ladies. However one would expect nothing less from a private origination that hurt people. If Target was found to be promoting violence, Target employers that continue to keep their jobs could rightfully expect people to do similar things. As for the no-camera's rule. I hope you and Sam are able to file charges against the city officials and put THEM in their own jail.

  • Hi Bob,,

I understand your viewpoint, and if the workers in there would stop forcing me to pay for things I don't want to buy, support or pay for then we wouldn't have an issue.

I have a family to feed as well, and I could do that a lot easier if these people would stop demanding thousands of dollars from me every year.

Why do you suppose they have to threaten and take peoples houses (12 this quarter) to pay their salaries? You don't see a problem with that?

  • Bob, you avoided the question. . .

Do you support taking your neighbors house in order to pay for something, even if you think it's a really good idea?

On your Fire comment, over 85% of fire departments in america are volunteer. I want to pay for the services I use on a voluntary basis. That's the way it works with everyone except government.

I want competition and choice to ensure I'm getting the best possible service for my money. I wish to live in harmony with my neighbors. Do you?

  • For one thing you are wrong I'm not on a fire dept. I just wanted to give my opinion and thank your for your time. I don't think that taking someone's house is right. I just want you guys to respect my privacy if I need to go to the city hall for any particular reason.

  • Why don't you answer the question that you were asked? Why do you deflect with this bullshit?

  • i do believe he is asking Bob, not me. for my name is not Bob.

  • The reason why I didn't answer the question was because I haven't logged in till now.

  • "while having running water and able to flush a toilet."

It's called a water bill. The Water is already paid for. Why should I have to pay some extra tax for something I already pay for?

"and if your house were to catch fire you want to beable to call 911."

Have you ever heard of such a thing as local sales taxes, and all the other miscellaneous fees and permits that we are forced to pay for? Thats where the money for police and fire departments should be coming from.

  • "To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. "

    Thomas.Jefferson

  • @obscuredtruth It's government policies not the employees of the tax office that are making you pay for those things.

  • Property taxes are unjust and immoral.

One of the planks of the Communist Manifesto is the abolition of private property.

How can you own something that some entity claims the right to levy a tax on regularly?

Being a "taxpayer" is no measure of patritosm, nor a badge of honor. If government wasn't doing so many things it has no authority to do, they wouldn't need all that money that they want to take from us.

Having to pay for the privilege of keeping your own property is unamerican

  • As an outsider who's done battle with towns many times over the past sixty years, I would venture to guess that the op here has exhausted all 'civil' remedies available to him to lower his taxes or to enable him to stop paying taxes. When those in power won't listen, more up front tactics are required. Be glad this time he came with a camera and not an army with guns. Further continuance of the abomination of taxes means civil war will be the response in the future. We have had enough stealing!

  • Yes, they are "good worker drones" without a conscience. We already have a "life" and have chosen to speak out against injustice through peaceful acts to wake the "sheeple" up.

  • It is likely that this City Hall has many surveillance cameras filming the interior of the building and peoples private business. If they can film we the people and violate our privacy, why are we prevented from doing the same?

    Good video.

  • surveillance cameras are there for protection! Money is involved it makes sense. That type of filmins is not available to the public.

  • Yes comrade, surveillance for protection of the state.

  • Hahahaha

  • KUDOS!!!!!! That took balls. Thanks for sharing. If only more would take a stand!!!!!!

  • Great video. :o

  • What these guys are doing is legitimate and heroic journalism the likes of which the idiots in the MSM could only dream of. This is something that you don't see everyday because it takes courage, and that has become so very rare in our society as to be remarkable. I can only hope that one day I will be able to perform an act that will be as profound.

  • This is phenomenal! True heroes

  • Beautiful.

  • next time in pennies. That would be much more effective. Good Job

  • Good work Sam!!!!

  • This is awesome!!!!!!!!! Great job!!!

  • And what would that change? Because everyone pays property taxes, it doesn't make it right. Correct your fallacious line of reasoning and then maybe you can state your opinion as fact.

  • GO IAN & SAM!!! Well done!

  • "is this an order"... "then you should give them a bill". Ask him if he is a peace-officer or a policy-officer, if he is "acting" legally or lawfully.

  • Gas taxes pay for the roads. Sidewalks? Sounds like government theft to me. Should the government be able to take a section of my land and say it is open to public access? I say no. Why shouldn't a private company be in charge of the water lines?

  • LOL GAS TAX. My stae gets 38.4 a gallon. The CITY(who lay the side walks down) get 8 cents a gallon.

No the the don't use that to pave roads. if it goes into a general fund, parts might. city sells tax pay to run the local goverment. city property tax pays for roads, sidewalks, fire, police ect...

You must not attend any city council meets.

  • Disneyland has great roads and sidewalks. I don't recall ever getting a tax bill from Disney.

  • incorrect.

Roads are maintained through GAS taxes, NOT property taxes.

The Term Property Taxes is an oxymoron. You might as well say you have a round square.

Common sense should tell you that you cannot be taxed on something you already own. If you are taxed on something on a regular basis, you do not own it.

What if Congess or your state decided to enact a tax on anyone with a microwave. Once a month you have to pay a microwave tax.

what if they came up a new tax every week?

  • When that one guy says that it is wrong to make government parasites count one dollar bills, it is like saying that it is wrong to lock your doors and make burglars have to work harder for their ill-gotten plunder. Don't make your master have to whip you, slave! Those government employees and their costumed bouncer have completely lost their moral compasses. They can no longer tell right from wrong. They are not collecting donations in that building. They're thieves backed by guns.

  • Taxation [is] so taken for granted in our culture that one of our most popular sayings is that "nothing is certain except death and taxes." Yet slavery was once as universal. Taxation is thought to be indispensable to civilization today, just as slavery once was. Advocates of taxation claim that since most people pay assigned taxes before the guns show up, they have implicitly agreed to it as the price of living in society. Most slaves obeyed their master before he got out the whip -Mary Ruwart

  • My favorite part is when the cop gets pwnd. lolololol.

  • Yeah, nice going.

  • standforamerica must be a cop and cops are terrorist they believe in the loss of your libertys, they enforce these new laws that go against the american way of life.

  • Plus, you didn't answer my previous questions: Who gives the government the right to take his or any of our money? Who gives them the right to steal? Who gives them the right to arrest us? Can you answer these questions, please?

  • I seriously don't understand what you are trying to say. Can you rephrase that? Oh, and by the way, you have no idea how old I am. I could be old enough to be your father for all you know.

  • Your comments show your age, and I've lean that ones that put their age in their proflie and the ones that put their age in later, end up being under age anyway. That's why the hide their age in the first place.

And the main reason you need all comments rephrased.

Maybe Dora can explain it to you.

  • Good work. A key part of the freedom movement is constant passive aggressive dealings with government. If we preach to people they will get sick of it. The key is making government actions costly and tedious, while putting succinct, logical and clear reasons when asked why.

So make sure next time you pay your taxes, pay in even smaller denominations. Give them the wrong amount and see if they pick it up. Pay late and make them chase you up. Tell them it's their legal tender so suck it up.

  • standforamerica: I don't understand why free speech is fine until you get "where people are conducting taxs" There are no conditions on free speech. There are no conditions on free press. He has the right to say whatever he wants while their taking his money. Speaking of rights, who gives them the rights to take his or any of our money? Who gives them the right to steal? Who gives them the right to arrest us? Can you answer that?

  • But, why are taxes a part of life, exactly? Why must we accept taxes as an unchanging fact just because they exist now. It is almost as if you are equating taxes with God or something. Taxes in my mind are the same as stealing. Taking money from people without their consent or at the point of a gun is wrong and immoral. So, why must we accept it? I understand what you are saying with the exceptions, but it is still LEGAL to do all of those things because of the right to free speech.

  • how is that?

  • Should have paid in pennies.

  • That took balls. Way to go. Cops are such punks.

  • in 6 months get another 20 people to do the same thing and have a tea party event on the steps of the courthouse. Call the fake media and maybe they will show up.

  • Great job! What happened to the LIVE free or die State?

  • I too posted this on facebook. Keep up the fight!

  • Another great piece of direct action. Great job guys, posted it on facebook. This is taking the best of what the progressive Left has done in terms of direct action and applying it to libertarianism, anarchy and voluntaryism. Hope you don't mind me using the A word. Love and respect to you!

  • YOU SHOULD HAVE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF OPEN CARRY, and pack yourself.

  • 2:58 I think someone calls Ian an asswipe.

This is such an awesome idea. Way to go.

You really hit the ground running with your new video Sam, Why must you play with those dangerous cameras.

  • This is totally rad!
