I'm not really sure about the technology put in to headsets, especially the Siberia V2 in particular, for playing bass frequencies, does it have a very small inbuilt subwoofer?, or do they include very high-quality speakers that CAN play bass frequencies? If anyone can clear that up for me it would be much appreciated :)

People, this is marketing for gamers. There is no such thing as headphones for gamers. And steelseries is not an audio company. Buy something like Audio technica AD700 instead for your gaming needs.

@aurimask would agree if ur comment was on SS 7h review. The AD 700 is just very bad for music or movies cause of its bass, whilst siberia v2 is just good for gaming, music and movies. But AD700 is super comfortable and just perfect for gaming (thats what 7H was going for :]).

this headset. is really NOT for gaming. you need 7.1 this CLAIMS it has it. but it has it very poorly quality. well maybe its just me. i had a g35 before it broke. got this for x-mas. sold it for g930. and that my friends is a beast headset.

I had this headset he's really cool neutral sound, and quality for its price. He had an issue after one year of gaming his microphone didn't work anymore. I send it back to my reseller then they gave me a new one :) and I'm happy, because I like this one.

I want to purchase them, but I'm worried about the retractable microphone. Does the mic go out after a while? Moving parts tend to disrupt wires on headsets, well for me at least, I've used Razer's products in the past, so i don't know if the steel series is the same. Any help would be appreciated :D

@ImSoSpartan the siberia V2...they have better sound quality a slightly worse mic...unless your a music artist you wont hear the difference... the siberias weigh less but if u like that closed-in feeling you get from a really big headset the 7his better...the siberia costs less...and there is a rumor that the speakers in the ears of the 7H break after 2 weeks to 2 months of use, this hasn't happened to any of the people i know who bought it but i cant completely disregard it.

I just recently bought mine a week ago, the mic is VERY soft and wobbly, and my friends can CLEARLY hear game noise through Skype when we play together. I've spent almost the entire day trying to configure settings to get these things working right but no luck so far.

If anyone with the tech know-how would help me out here that'd be awesome, but for the mean time I'm really disappointed in this product and do not recommend it.

I bought the Siberia V2 (non-usb), this is my short review:

Pros: Fits really well, better than any headphones i've ever had. The hidden microphone works well and the idea is good. The volume and mic. controller is easy to use. The design is wonderful.

Cons: The sound... well, the sound is just simply horrific, i've very had cheap headphones with the same quality. If i compare it to a Creative 900 HS, the sound quality of the Siberia V2 is just plain bad, flat and without dept.

This is not meant as a negative statement, but if you think this sound is awesome, it's simply because you either haven't experienced quality sound in headphones or because you just can't hear the difference. I just bought this headset yesterday, and it's the best headset I've had.. and I've had quite a few. The Siberia v1(which I loved!), the Razer carcharias and the G35. And this is the best one I've had. The Siberia V2 that is. Haven't had a problem with it yet (I know I've only had it for one day x) ) But I love the headset, and all Steelseries headsets. They're comfortable :) I'll give it 5/5 stars :D

Im 15 years old. I just bought this headset.

Its extremely comfortable and lightweight. It fits my (smaller than average) head really nicely. It has GOOD audioscape for music, movies etc. But for gaming... Not that awesome. I also own Steelseries 5Hv2 and its much better for gaming than these. But they sound crappy for music, movies etc. So if you really want the best for gaming, go with 5hv2. If you wanna enjoy your music with highest possible quality, go for these. These = 4/5. 5hv2 4/5.

and before anyone adds anything stupid, I've owned several pairs of "gaming" headsets, ranging from several Logitech, Plantronics, then 5Hv2 (same as those), I moved to Sennheiser HD555, and tried PC350.

Quite funny, the HD555 cost the same as 5Hv2, are labeled as entry-level audiophile music headphones, but can properly position game sound unlike the "gaming" 5Hv2. If you want good sound, stay away from marketing gimmicks that claim to be for "gaming". You're getting ripped off.

@vexen00 They don't have mics... The HD555 costs £90 while the Siberia V2 costs £61 (prices right now on Amazon.co.uk)... I'm not sure why you are writing this comment here, it doesn't seem like you understand the purpose of these headphones. They might not have the sort of audio quality of a Sennheiser but try wearing one for 5 hours straight gaming... The V2 is really light. And again, no mic. Part of a good gaming headset is getting a quality noise-cancelling mic.

the best substitute for this headset is: (IMO) Audio Technica A700(Close cup)/AD700(Open Cup). Althought its lack of a microphone, which is not a concern for me.

pls help, i bought siberia full size headphones, and at start everything worked well, but after a while it seems like it gets wors and wors connection, so like if i turn the thingy that i plug into my computer i suddenly hear on only left side of headset. the strange thing is that from day to day the connection may be wors or better, like today it worked ok, while other days i have to turn that shit around and around to find the right place and sometimes it dosent work. pls help thanks
