  • 2009 and this is the best footage we can get of this :-( Mon the pipes!

  • this ..... IS THE SOUNDS OF HEAVENS GATES OPENING !

  • have loved the pipes since I was 5...I am now 54.Will go to Scotland ..it's on my bucket list.

  • ugg boots

  • I love this sound bettween the pipes and the drums. And the synch walk ô.ô

  • @CaptainChaos - Definitely would have happened in times passed, and may still happen on occasion yet today. As a Scotsman long removed from Scotland, I would strenuously state my point to "xTheWarlordx" that "I am not English. My clan fought the English after Wallace left this earth, so please remember that a Scotsman, though governed by Britian, is NOT an Englishman.

  • this song is fun to play

  • fantastic! :)

  • Dang, i've been following the Tattoo for a while, but this is the best one ive seen so far

  • so nice wish i was there,, so feeling scotland...need to go there one day.....exspecially the highlands

  • englishmen know how to war!

  • @xTheWarlordx I wouldn't call scotsmen englishmen to their face, that's a good way of getting your ass kicked... ;-)

  • amazing... and to think the Pipes were onced used in Battle to stir terror in the hearts of there enemies

  • @MultiCoverguy They are still used for that purpose. Scottish regiments often play bagpipe music full blast thru speakers on their bases in Afghan to let the Taliban know they are there !

  • There is no sound better in this world than drums and pipes playing at the same time.

  • I've seen it once and it's something I can do over and over again...

  • Ah, this song could turn a potential deserter to an immortal warrior I swear .

  • wow really nice but i would want to be the guys that walk in front and dont do anything but keep the tempo and look awesome lol

  • @migratorycocanut thats called a drum major, and pipe and drum drum majors have it easy, a good military drum major can take a little practice...

  • @go1pes lol thx for the proper terminology :D

  • @migratorycocanut anytime xD

  • JUST LOST A BROTHER AND FRIEND OF 33 RS NO MORE A BEFITTNG SEND THAN THIS TO A BURNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome, just awesome

  • some arent in line, its kind of disciplinary to be in line, and hard to do but these guys ARE GREAT!

  • @halofannatic You may be absolutely right, but that doesn't make your comment remotely right. Consider that this is the massed bands, composed of a bunch of bands that likely have never seen each other before. Even with that, they play in sync, and do a credible job of marching together. Have you ever played in a pipe band? Your comment pretty much confirms a "no" and that's sad. Maybe if you had, you'd appreciate what they are doing.

  • @twistoftime i more than appreciate what they do and i really wish i would even have the privilege of holding bag pipes. I did not mean to dis these men and women in any way at all.

  • @twistoftime ya, but i do agree with him, i have been in a massed band before so i understand the line is not going to be perfect, but when you have parts of your rank that are just like half a rank away, thats just not excusable, expecially if you have a whole display to fix it... but that was only two of the ranks, everyone else was quite fine, but i have to laugh at people who judge a band by its display, thats not what matters, its the music that counts, and thats what does matter...

  • See a Tattoo is also on my bucket list.

  • cant wait for next year !!! x

  • What a sound! I love this stuff; too bad I have never seen this in person, but it's on my list of things to do before I die!

    @cybarton, thanks for posting!

  • @pluto4325 Thanks :) Glad you enjoyed it. The tattoo really is breathtaking - well worth the money if you have a chance of going. :)

  • @pluto4325 It's mine too! ^^ I hope you get to see it :-)

  • @pluto4325 It is amazing! It was pouring down with rain when I went and we went home soaked, but it was too amazing to even care! I just love the sound of the pipes and drums:)

  • @pluto4325 Do it....I did, it will live with me forever

  • what a sound i get shivers down my back everytime i hear this its a sound of god

my up most respect to these guys

  • Magnificent!

  • Pure Magic!!

  • I watched this every year on BBC-America and just LOVED IT! This year, my dear fellow-grandparents of our grandsons will be there to see it. TherCitadel band has been invited and will, no doubt, have lots of parents in attendance, as well. What a privilege!! There's truly something very special about hearing the pipes and drums of Scotland. It's no surprise they're used, so often, for funeral marches, i.e. Chicago Firemen, etc. Spectacular tradition and experience.
