  • My respects go out to all active and none active service men and women of all armed forces around the world that work/worked hard under the flag of democracy!

    wdw!

  • All this bickering over who are the better regimental spec. ops is honestly childish. Frankly most of the people making these comments have to brush up on their history. As for whether the S.A.S was the first spec. ops, this is answered by the proposal of Sir David Stirling to the commanding generals. He proposed a new regiment that would be air dropped and attack stealthy, the first ops. run by the Z division were in collaboration of LRDG. As for the founders; Stirling was Scottish and Lewes OZ

  • Hard Core work... gweeing through selection

  • 37.27 Capt. Price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why are these candidates walking along a cleared track/road? I thought they where only permitted to skirt along the outside of the tracks during "Happy Wanderer"? Also I have heard that the commando selection course is allegedly harder than the SAS selection course...can these issues be clarified by those in the know?

  • The SAS are British And the SASR Australian did you not notice the brits in the directors we work together.

  • watch all three of these and then say that this is the most challenging course there is

    watch?v=AT1xh3yQ0iI

  • aus SAS' i heard is SIS'

  • How big is the A Army? We are the whingeing POMs. You follow the Crown. You are Australian SAS. SAS lives in Hereford. POMs. If the German government wants you as their aiders, then you join the POM SAS.

  • i was looking for british sas

  • "worlds finest fighting force" - Next to the British SAS you mean :p

  • @UncappingBadger A quote from an article about the SASR during Op Anaconda: Even the hard-to-impress British SAS were stunned by Three Squadron's (SASR) patrols, says one trooper. "The Poms could only last four days. We managed seven without resupply on the first patrol,'' he says.

  • @aussiepride2005 The English ARE the SAS. Daft cunt.

  • @transonicbuoy1 the uk are the sas

  • @aussiepride2005 what a load of bolex haha

  • @TheGunner1324 Believe what you want mate. Google 'Phantoms of the Mountains' and read the TIME article. It's all there quite clearly.

  • @UncappingBadger no, thats not what he means

  • 8:31 he sais: ''enfaite'' a french word

  • SEALs For Ever

  • wait, although the original SAS is british and the best why do the aussies still have the same beret and cap badge? :S

  • @ozzyxyz10 Sandy beret, not maroon SASR not SAS, We are still in the common wealth and born of the original SAS hence the same badge.

  • @ozzyxyz10 there were aussies along with brits and kiwis in the original SAS and LRDG so they inhereted the traditions of those forces....

  • @ozzyxyz10 Seeing as Australia is part of the Commonwealth we share similar things with the British. One of those things is our military, the Australian military is modelled on the British equivalent, so is the Canadian military (they also have an SAS regiment). We share the same beret and badge because we are loosely 'the same group' just based in a different country with different laws.

  • How do you finish selection with a broken leg? Whaaaaaaaaaaat? I'm surprised that they don't let people reapply, since many people are not SAS material in the beginning but improve themselves later. I guess the Australian SAS isn't pressed to increase their numbers like the US special forces (not only Delta, but all branches).

  • @uchio you can reapply, as long as you dont "withdraw at own request", if you are pulled of becouse you have been performing badly, or a medical issue, that fine.

But not if you give up, this unit does NOT want quiters.

  • @wever333 that makes sense. Cheers for the answer.

  • Wish the U.S. Army would wear boonies instead of patrol caps.

  • British SAS for ever

  • british sas r the best in the world we where the first

  • This is some really tough stuff. As a US Army vet (Airborne/Ranger/etc), the Aussie Army is really the only one that I have found comparable to us. Very tough indeed.

    Ranger joke:

Q: how many Rangers does it take to change a light bulb?

A: all of them - one to actually change the bulb and the rest to stand around talking about how hard it was back when they changed a bulb.

  • to those 26 men who got selected i wish all of you good luck on your training. May the angels be with you.

    USA here

  • odd they train with the Stey Aug but then show them with a M4 variant at the end

  • @sik59rt SAS are trained for most every weapon types

  • @GoBIGclan i would assume they would be.

  • I was cheering for 42 :(

  • watr is some stupid shit

  • much respect for #42 ..

  • what is the practice rifle they are carrying called and can you buy it online

  • @ghostdogblack4747 It's probably just a bit of pipe.

  • The narrator sounds like robert downey jr. from natural born killers!!!!

  • 22nd SAS Regiment is equal to America's 1st SFOD-D. The SBS is equal to DEVGRU. And I am talking about the UK's SAS and SBS. The American groups are Tier 1 and very very secretive and excruciatingly difficult to get into to. You have to be the best of SEALs to get in to DEVGRU and you have to be the best of Army SF or Rangers to get into 1st SFOD-D.They were responsible for the death of Bin Laden if you did not know.

  • @amitnayna01 And it shows how much you know. Why dont u surf a lil more on youtube and watch Madeleine Albright announcing the death of Bin Laden in 2002. Also Dr Steve Pieczenik (former HEAD of black ops and answered only to Kissinger) says Bin Laden died of natural causes, he was a CIA agent and Black ops only use Army SF NOT SEAL's as they have stuffed up too often. SEAL's are a hollywood hype and is a welcome deterrent for the real SF that do the real work. LOOK IT UP!Or would u like a link?

  • @amitnayna01 @amitnayna01 here is a link for you to learn how much you don't know /watch?v=wjtNiTm99e8

Bin Laden was already dead and U.S Black Ops DO NOT use SEAL's they use DELTA only.Head of Black Ops states this. SEAL's are Hollywood hype and welcome attention deterrent for the REAL operators.YES the Navy uses the SEAL's for its missions. But the Govt Black Ops use army as SEAL's have failed many times and are considered unreliable.DELTA have their own underwater SF too

  • @jusryan13 Hey, I'm biased toward the Army and I'm in love with the 1st SFOD-D but I do believe that the majority of the men in the operation are DEVGRU. I have no doubt that SFOD-D was there. I believe that SFOD-D is a better group as well. The Army is the best branch of our military IMO. USAF is right after that. I don't believe Bin Laden was dead all this time. I believe that he was alive till 2011. I am not a conspiracy theorist. I believe there are things we don't know about.

  • @amitnayna01 Well u also have to look at the credibility of the US Gov. They said no US troops died on the OBL op yet they did. A heli blew up on evac. Also the remaining SEAL's died in a heli brought over from the national guard in the one biggest loss of life in one hit in 10years of whole Afgan campaign. All members of SEAL team 6 on OBL op DEAD. Then theirs the video of him in living room at side view. A false picture released by the GOV itself. SEAL's hit a different target thats for sure.

  • @jusryan13 I doubt it dude. Those SEALs were not in OBL raid. Those SEALs were hit by a rocket on the way to relieve the 75th. None of them were in the raid. And how do you know it's fake. There are things we don't know about but doesn't mean we can say that OBL raid was all false based on Youtube and a few forums on the internet.

  • @amitnayna01 Im saying that it was fake in ref to the former head of black ops, former head of CIA and Madeline Albright all saying he was Dead in 2002!

Im saying that Dr Steve Pieczenik said that a Navy operation to kill OBL is outrageous. Why on earth would we use Navy for this kind of assault so far inland! (its a Delta job hands down) We also didn't get to see the body. Why even kill him? What happened to interrogation? What if there were more plans? Cant u smell the coffee on this one?

  • @jusryan13

well the U.S. had so many chances to kill Bin Laden before they actually "killed him". I did find it fishy that the SEALs were sent in and not Delta. Because Delta is Americas counter-terrorism agency

  • @167lemon Agreed! It doesnt erve their interests to kill him off so early since the pipelines they are building from Uzbekistan, through Northern Pakistan (one of the reasons they are bombing this region) down through Afganistan to the west coat of India. They did the same in Vietnam! They rolled out his death to gain support for Obama. It's a giant mafia system and they are lying to us all and using our soldiers to do their dirty work. "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".

  • @jusryan13

In my opinion the US shouldn't have been in any war since WW2, possibly Korea depending on your opinion. But the Iraq war was unnecessary.

I hate when US soldiers say that their defending our freedom. I appreciate you serving but you're not protecting us you're dying and getting injured for in an unnecessary war

  • @167lemon 100% agree

  • @167lemon SEALS, fishy, very good :)

  • @hexonatapeloop

    Wait what?

  • @167lemon the british sas could have killed bin laden long ago but thay got told to wait for delta but by the time thay got there he was gone

  • @hadarmarom

seals and sas are totally different, seals are closer to the SBS than the sas and its easier to get into the seals than it is to the sas.

  • @GhostDivision55 Although you're correct in everything you've stated, there are American teams that rival the SAS in competency. ST6 (Seal Team 6) and DELTA are both considered 'tier 1' special operations groups. Tier 2 would be the regular Green Berets, SEAL teams and RANGERS.

  • @Look4Edin You are correct in what u say! Keep in mind that according to Dr. Steve Pieczenik (former HEAD of black ops and answered only to Kissinger) said that the Navy uses SEAL's for special ops but the US Government and Black ops only use DELTA! He said that the SEAL's are simply unreliable as they have stuffed many missions, even some easy ones. He also said that the SEAL's are a hollywood hype and a welcome one as it takes attention away from the real operators which is the Armies SF.

  • so many dumb people comment on this video,

firstly america based its whole special force entry and training program on the 22nd sas regiment (the british sas). Their special forces founder stated that americas special forces will not be on this level due to mere inexperience and their ultimate goal is to be like the sas

secondly, this is not the australian sas's training program, it's AN ENTRY COURSE, training begins after RTI which occurs after the course and lasts 18 months, training then

  • British SAS, US Navy SEALs, Israeli Sayeret Matkal etc. are all LEAGUES above the Aussie SAS, Supreme fighting force my ass.

  • @hadarmarom Actually its based on Australias very own "Z special Unit" which was operating and destroying Japanese fleets in 1945.At this time Sterling (who forged the SAS with an Aussies Jock Lewis) failed his first 2 missions and was in hospital for six months. Australia had the worlds first Special Ops Command. Sterling was operating within LRPG. Get ur facts right. The USA based their spec ops training on SASR. Get ur info right! Australians are genetically tougher then poms.As are Scots

  • @jusryan13 My point still stands. The Australian SAS is not the best Special Forces Unit in the world like the video claims it is. Special Forces such as Israel's Sayeret Matkal and the British SAS have more skilful soldiers and tougher training.

  • @hadarmarom Its well known that the SASR are the best in Recon.Did you know that Britain, Canada, Australia, S.A, Gurkhas all compete once a year with their SF units? Do u know the score? In 1998 the score was SASR 30, Gurkhas 4, 22nd SAS 2. As for Israel, don't make me laugh.Ive never met one tough Jew in my life.NEVER so that I DO NOT BELIEVE. Yes i think the Israelis are the smartest race in the world, but as for warriors you can forget that notion.Australians are a tough breed read history

  • @jusryan13 oh look at you, Mr Racist, saying jews are not tough. If Jews weren't tough, they wouldn't have survived over 2000 years of persecution. And while i would be willing to accept that genetically Aussis are more physically capable than Semites(not saying it is true, just saying I'm willing to except it), they are definitely not tougher mentally. You see, Australians have never seen war, they have never lived under constant terrorist threat, so basically, in war, theyll just start crying.

  • @hadarmarom But I digress

  • @hadarmarom Hi hadarmarom. You're incorrect in saying Aussies have never seen war. Here's some stats: WW1 330,000 Aussies (all volunteers) fought in France, Palestine & Gallipoli (Turkey). 60,000 were killed; 155,000 were wounded; 4,000 captured (they captured 29,000 German troops & >40,000 Turkish troops).

WW2 when the Oz population was 7 million, 1 million Aussies fought against Japan in Papua New Guinea & Borneo.

50,000 Aussies fought in Vietnam War, 500 killed, 2,400 WIA.

  • @wattlebough Hey mate, gonna correct you on one thing, according to the War memorial, 60,000 Aussies fought in Vietnam. :)

  • @wattlebough Thats not what I meant. It is true that Aussies have fought in both World Wars and helped out in the Middle east, but what i was saying is that, besides the Bombing of Darwin, Australia has never really been attacked. Same with the United States. What i'm saying is that Aussies have no idea how it feels to be under constant threat, and that's why they are mentally weaker.

  • @hadarmarom Ya you're people are real tough mate, explains why you walked into the gas chambers mate. Now fuck off and stop ripping on Aussies.

  • @LeighTheGenius you seriously just used the holocaust as an excuse for why Jews arent tough. I didn't want to believe people can be that heartless in a place like Australia, but i guess i was wrong. do you understand what it means when OVER 6,000,000 Jews are SYSTEMATICALLY killed off. Nothing aussies have ever gone through can compare.

  • @hadarmarom Lol, you are an idiot troll obviously looking to stir up an argument. You think Aussies haven't suffered? You think people from the British Isles haven't gone through endless waves of shit over the centuries? We don't bitch about it, we build a bridge and move on. Now fuck off, I'm blocking you

  • @hadarmarom "Israel's Sayeret Matkal and the British SAS have more skillful soldiers"

How could you know that? You're speaking out of prejudice.

  • @cadmus98 Based on statistics.

  • @jusryan13 No, only in delta force which is America's SAS-like unit and Australians are pretty much poms ancestry-wise.

  • @katon95 Australians were populated NOT BY CONVICTS as they mostly died here or on their way here.Australia was populated by brave opportunists who dared to cross the oceans (just like a trip to Mars) all for one thing, "The Gold Rush". This is how Australia was populated! So our "Ancestors" are from all around the world including the USA, Canada, Britain and Europe. So genetically, we take the cake and its shows in the Olympics for a country with only 20 million and no blacks to win on track

  • @hadarmarom There is no special forces unit "leagues" above another. You fail.

  • @Psychocide It's a figure of speech.

  • This is not British SAS!!

  • @sweJN Sucks doesnt it :/ Oh well least it gives us a better insight to other countries SF

  • @TheKr1sC0Kr1ng13 Yes i want to see this wiht Spetsnaz =P

  • No it isn't the 'worlds best and most secret' they have based it on the British SAS and SBS units, which are the worlds best and most highly trained special forces in the world. There is nothing secret about a program showing the selection process. Just like the yanks, you love to stick SF on every bloody unit within your armed forces.

  • That moomoo mf is a dickhead, im glad american courses dont have sum dumbass shit like that that has nothing to do with the course

  • @TEXASHUSTLERS the reason that tribal noonoo guy is there is because they guys running the course are trying to represent real life scenarios and to teach the men how to deal with stuff in those types of situations, sometimes the sas have to pass through checkpoints or borders control by foreigners and the soldier has to try and persuade them to allow them to pass through, eg- they had to build a chicken pen in return for food from noonoo.

  • @TEXASHUSTLERS ever heard of robin sage?

  • These are aussie sas? I was referring to british sas btw.

  • Idgaf wat noone says the u.s. Army rangers and navy seals are juat as badass im american and have alotta respect for these guys... The only reason theyre number 1 is bcuz they are trained by mi-5 which makes them sf/secret agent.

  • Just wondering but where's the body armour? (Might be a dumb question sry for that, but I had to wear it during our course in Germany)

  • @BigMoe1290 Aussie SAS dont need it, bullets cant kill them

  • I respect SAS, but SEALs are cold, wet, miserable, constant pt and swimming with little food and 7 months basic... Yes, basic.. Think SEALs a bit harder

  • @mswoonc this is only the selection proces, the guys that are selected start on a 18 month training program

  • @mswoonc British SAS is this and more this is based of the initial period of training then UK SF have much more training like the seals and the SBS is pretty much the same.

  • The Kaibil training in Guatemala is way more tougher than this.

  • @fdkfskfkvmk441254741 they suck blood out of chicken and eat salt?

  • i thought SAS trained with Rambo

  • ive seen a lot off training for Special operation forces and ive got to be honest that the Australian SAS is really good at the mind games really good !

  • 1:55 looks like Kieran from brazzers!

  • @USSEntrprise

a very very good one bud. I am still laughing.

  • No offense, I luv your video, but since it is australian it ought to be titled SASR, since tht is what they are called. :)

  • is this austrailian SAS?

  • @ContainedMax yes.

  • British and Aussie SAS. respect lads

  • USA COME FUCK WITH US!

  • 26:08 someone forgot to put his face cover up O.o

  • whiniest presenter accent ever!

  • @camraid9 If you knew who that was you wouldnt say it to his face............he is a former SAS from the Bravo two zero patrol.

  • @camraid9 well what did you expect - he is an aussie ;) at leased its not as bad as a british nature doco presenter...

  • @raysetiger285 You mean David Attenborough !! He's a legend !!

  • Very nice video. There's not much about what Aussies do, this one brought more perspective into that.

  • SAS over SASR anyday.

  • Comment removed

  • annoying voice. It sounds like a guy shitting his pants

  • simple fact is they are SAS none the less, yes it is mainly british special forces but even tho them being ozzy dont mean they aint british spec ops and to be honest SAS are the best no matter where they are from

  • Great show. Great warriors.

  • the british sas was the first special operations ever all other spec ops was trained by the sas.

sas was feared by german troops during ww2 a sas squad took out the most elite germans.

    and the lrdg were sas

  • @THEhippotype

so much of what you just said simply is not true.

  • @THEhippotype The LRDG was a separate and distinct unit, formed in North Africa and mostly for reconnaissance/intel gathering etc.. Later, the SAS were transported to target areas by the LRDG which had the desert travelling knowledge. The SAS learnt much from the LRDG and but they weren`t one and the same thing. have a look on wiki :)

  • @absoluteshower well i must be thinking of something else then, i knew that the LRDG worked with sas, im thinking of a regiment of the sas that lost its title of sas and was called... cant remeber the name but was similar to the LRDG name

  • Why is the training cadre wearing MultiCam? They bought this themselves?

  • That is absolutely fucking hilarious! Imagine having gone three days without sleep or food, exhausting physical exertion, to then have to pray to some deity with some guy who resembles a Chechen mujahideen.

And... Mumu's wives lmfao. SASR seems to be quite creative in the ways that they create mental strains and pressure on the candidates (having said that, I haven't seen any other special forces selection courses, so....)

  • @disamjisa check out the SA special forces selection, its somewhere on here

  • @disamjisa Have a look at the nzsas selection course bro. See what you think

  • @TheMessianist I believe that was SASR during Operation Anaconda.

(Just google "Phantoms of the Mountain", a Time article)

But I take your point entirely; there is a huge degree of respect (and cross-training) between the Anglosphere special forces, and all have some area of expertise that is unique to their unit.

  • @28:46 *That* bloke, somehow I could imagine him whittling down a skull with a bowie knife, and keeping a collection of Taliban teeth. Something quite menacing about him... then again, it's rather comforting to know he's one of ours.

  • Only British SAS are the true SAS I don't care what other people say

  • @harrygorrod23 By which you mean to say you have very little clue about special forces and what they think about each other.

  • @harrygorrod23 not true although the british sas training is supposedly more difficult all other sas are basicly the same australian being the most similar. although they did skip many things in this video such as evasion and interrigation which is horrible.

  • the commanders are wearing british camo's

  • @cardiffcityfc1100 I have not watched this whole episode yet, but judging by the last episode they are not wearing, "British camo's", rather they are wearing multi-cam. It is a pattern employed by services across the globe, originating from the U.S.

  • Mumu is awesome!

  • Why is it called SASR? What does the R stand for?

  • @The021mac Special Air Service Regiments.

  • @TaReaperz thanks

  • @The021mac Special Air Service Regiment.

  • @Ahamster1

    no they are not actors..

  • Geeez!, they don't look happy!.

    Must be fucking brutal!.

  • LOL at the bermuda triangle chicken pen

  • one thing i am thinking that how hard they trained their soldier and even the selection process is like unbelievable, but what i am wondering that for almost 10 years the world best armies are fighting in Afghanistan and still they cant get hold of it? what still lack in the army or training?

  • @sbakht it's a counter insurgency. it's hard to defend your enemy when they look and dress like civillians, live amongst civillians and even fight amongst civillians. if the taliban were to ditch the cowardly IED's and come down from the mountains where they hide, it would be over in a week.

  • @airasiax well it seem to me not that much logical, because if you see how much NATO killed in the night raids innocent civilian and in Air Strikes. The only excuse you get is that an inquiry commitee will look into the matter and thats it. how do you look at this? you said cowardly (if you look back in the past two months) the attack on diplomatic area, british embassy and other much high alert and security zone. you call it coward. Taliban dont want negotiation and Nato insisting on Peace.

  • @airasiax This has nothing to do with cowardice or lack thereof. The fact that the Taliban continue to come down from the mountains, to fight huge gun battles with NATO/MNNA infantry is a testament to their courage.

Are you really suggesting that they should fight in the way that makes it easiest for us to beat them? Come on. It's tactical necessity; it we asked the SASR to fight like that, they would do it without a seconds hesitation.

  • @991weeman- actually, they do. Look it up, the info is out there. As for the miles to km. Do the math

  • The British army made the SAS and the SAS reputation not the Aussies SASR. SASR are very capable guys but not "the SAS". "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"

  • @colbro100 More dick-swinging from someone who hasn't served in the military.

If you think SASR relies in the reputation of the SAS, then you're sadly mistaken and pathetically myopic.

  • @colbro100 Yeah you might want to look into that. It's all based off the same regiment, were all commonwealth thus we have simaler units. We had plenty of aussies and kiwis in the origonal LRDG wich is what the SAS came from.

  • WHY THE FUCK IT SAYS "SAS" IF ITS FROM OZ "SASR" lol

  • @Casadosmongos Special Air Service REGIMENT. Based on the British SAS but formed with Australians.

  • @Casadosmongos because, in Aus it's the SAS Regiment, shortened to SASR.

It's just a shortening of the full name, it's still the SAS.

  • @australbanian

Albania is a nation of slak jawed uneducated gay activists (like yourself)

  • @alexmichaux98 u fag u dont even know what albania u ugly piece of shit

  • These guys are crazy as fuck but just because they have the most intense selection process does not mean they receive the best training. People often seem to confuse the difficulty of the selection process with the quality of the force as a whole.

  • @BulawayoJohn Trust me, the Australian SASReject is an inferior backyard army. The selection pool is from subhuman volunteers.

  • @australbanian SERIOUSLY DICKHEAD, GET THE FUCK OFF ALL THE AUSTRALIAN ARMY VIDEOS YOU STUPID PRICK, HAVE SOME RESPECT

  • us navy seals training is as hard, seals run 200 miles and have 4 hours of sleep during hell week!

  • @TEXASHUSTLERS

200 miles? I highly doubt that that's around 380Km and I do not think that they would do that for training.

  • @991Weeman

As crazy as it sounds, that is actually the number that has been provided numerous times.

  • @991Weeman Alexander the Great walked 50 klicks a day for 6 days.

  • @991Weeman Just remember that Australia is a nation of pigeon-toed volunteers. Similar to Israel's armed forces.

  • @australbanian WOW, you actually stopped fingering your dad and yourself to comment on the most superior country in the world, btw thanks for watching.

  • @australbanian Fun fact, did you know that the albanian defence force is trained by mall cops
