these two guys inspired us kids to be creative, to persevere, to have no fear, and to learn what pain is every time you smack your shins. I am going to ride my 1987 dyno tonight.
I still listen to "Break the Ice" by John Farnham while riding from time to time. So cool to see how so many of us express the same sentiments about these guys and the indelible mark the movie Rad has left in our hearts.
I'm surprised they're not riding their old school bikes. Thanks for posting...being 45 and missing the '80s, this is a great way to re-live it. I'm currently building a 1981 PK Ripper to ride with my kid...bullseye hubs, 401 flight cranks (single pinch wrap arounds), Pro Neck...all the vintage goodies! :)
These two guys gave me inspiration to freestyle in the 80's. Now I enjoy mountain biking in my later years, but I still pull off a trick or two from that era and impress my friends. What a great time to be a teen. They will always be my first biking idols.
when they came to cochrane for the 25th anniversary which was amazing btw eddie came out of no where on one of the bikes from the movie and did the biggest backflip of the day out of the bowl so amazing
Damn, almost 50 years old & still good enough to be on a major BMX stunt team. Still better now than I ever was when I was young back in the 80's during my prime riding years...
Dude.....this is awesome thanks for posting it. I really don't think anyone under the age of 35 can really appreciate this like us "older" guys who grew up riding and freestyling in the 80's. Just awesome that Martin and Eddie are still doing it. Brings back alot of great times growing up.
@AcesHighUptheIrons -im 31. Saw the movie when it came out when I was 6. Got a HARO SHREDDER for christmas, and the rest is history. God bless these guys and the movie RAD, or I might have ended up a computer programer...ughh...
