Hi ! i have to replace the battery and i don't have a Midi interface to backup the sounds. I think i've read somewhere that if you replace the battery while the keyboard is powered on, you don't lose the sounds. Any idea if it's true ? thanks !
@bgmww Hi, it probably is true as there will be power being supplied to the onboard RAM. However, I wouldn't recommend doing it as there is a chance that you could get electrocuted. I would never recommend doing any repairs on any gear which is plugged in. How about going on amazon or ebay & buying a cheap 1 in 1 out MIDI interface to do the backup. You could always sell it when you're done. On amazon UK I found this one M-Audio Midisport 1x1 USB MIDI Interface for £37.99. Good luck!
Thanks man, that´s amazing but i don´t backup my sounds, what can i do??

EXCELLENT
I hadn't used the beast for a while and up came low battery - you guided me through it brilliantly.
The Makita did the screws in record time, I held the metal frame and grabbed the cold tap for earth, changed the battery and saw the funny display.
But I had watched your vid all the way through, so no problems - factory reset and its going fine.
Thank you for this VERY helpful video.

Thanks! good vid. Love this beast of a synth.
I think you need to make sure you're grounded when you touch the innards like that though or you can fry the board with your static.
