@yellowsparklefish337: in the serie "How I met your mother", season 1, episode 10 I think (the one called "The pineapple incident") Ted sings this song in the bar when he's drunk : ) Excellent episode IMHO : )
@jeanlutrin He sings along to the original by cheap trick.... this version by jon brion is playing during the end, when robin enters teds room and trudy has gone.
My dad once adlibed lyrics to a music box which played " Toy Land" by Victor Herbert. Mattel made the green and yellow toddler's wind up box which displayed children running across a hill, tree's and a blue choo-choo train. How delightfully nestalgic to hear the mish-mashed, inter-laced voices of the artis, piano and music box.
Love this song anyway but when I heard this version one night on my xm radio, I had to pull off to the side of the road. I was in total awe. John Brion is a genius. Thank God for xm because I would've never heard this on regular (garbage) radio.
The way the Jon recorded this song is the absolute perfect pop song. It makes me want to cry. Jon is the only person i get star struck around. I have been around many amazing musicians, very big stars... but Jon's songs just hit me in a way that no ones material does. I remember once in Seattle i told him he was my absolute hero, He laughed and said..."you could pick a much better hero man". To this day, he is my favorite song writer and performer of all time! Hands Down!
The recorded version is amazing...but live-He ripped my head off and blew my mind away with this song...he played the hell out of it on a strat along with a scratched 45" record loop...it brought about a new meaning of organized sound in time for me.
thumbs up if you found this video because you heard the song at the end of an How I Met Your Mother episode!
