i never played UO but i remember hearing about it back in the early 2000s, i wish i played it because it looked amazing, hows the game these days, is it same as back then or is it worse?

This brings back so many memories of wanting to play the game all night long but my parents saying I should get to bed, haha. I always stayed up to play it though, it was great. And the music will never end in giving me nostalgic love.

Now it's changed so much. There's a free server one coming out which is called IPY 2.0 It's made from an already sucessful admin named Azeroth. He released IPY in 2004 and it was the most successful server created. It's been years since, and he's planning the opening of IPY 2.0 soon.
UO Lives! Come check out Retribution, it's a freeshard that's exactly like old skool UO, circa 1999-2003. It's awsome, well ran, and lots of players already. I play everyday. Just google uo retribution and follow the steps to get it. It's free!
I believe I was one of the best decorators/designers in UO. I've made awesome custom houses on tons of shards and it was always the number one thing that attracted me to UO. I even went to one shard and was given a few millions instantly from a guild to design their guild village. Those where the days....

Unfortunatly, no.They implemented a rule several years ago where your account needs to be active for your house to remain standing. If your account is inactive for 90 days then your house decays and no one can refresh it.
Take off those nostalgia goggles. Darkfall is a lot like ultima. Okay, it's more pvp orientated, no taming and crafting skills, but there are boats, there are player owned houses and guild fights and everything. It's actually quite similar to UO.

Music, sound, graphics, history, skills, stats, community, items, quests...nothing replaces those. The only game like UO is UO. Graal Online had houses, guilds, PvP...and is nothing like UO.

If you were involved with factions perhaps you would remember my name, YenCanDo? I was with a well known faction guild, KrW. All our old school PVPers have long left. I played pacific for the first year or two, as Gannon of Yew. My guild, SOD, was friendly with CEK. SOD is gone, CEK I think is still around.
UO... what an awesome game. I played it before EA really ruined it and made it item based, and full of pussies. I played from 1998-2003. It was sadly being destroyed little by little when EA took over and care bear land was created.

I just looked around, saw an item, had to remember dates and all the stuff about it on the spot and then mention the interesting parts. Sounds fine to me for what it is. 40+ buildings spread over 4 accounts incl 1 castle 2 keeps 3 towers lots of large forges 2 storeys and small houses all over the world.

i had that same tower outside of yew.
i played on a free shard though, and they had a different form of currency, so buying it took like a few hours of hunting.
