  • Cleverbot brought me here...

  • Symbolically weeding out hatred is like spiritual root canal therapy. It allows us to draw upon the heavenly source of life, so that our leaves will remain forever green. Let's weed out hate and sow the seeds of peace.

  • May all youtubers be blessed with love and peace for the remainder of their lives. and may their youtube families live long and healthy and hear beautiful music like we are hearing right now.

    With joy!

    -Zachary-

  • I wish the tune of their music was a tad buit less depressing seeming.

    Oh well, beautiful music anyway!

  • search up pete philly - leaves that are green, its the same but then his style

  • I thought this version was a studio version! haha great live!! :D:D

  • thanks for posting this...not only do i love the song..but this video clip of the movie has now got me wanting to watch it:))

  • The affirmation that identifies the true music lovers from the rest, is the willingness to hear the music and the voices of thoes you have never heard before. Take care ADonovan43

  • this was a on the B side of a 45 back when A&B sides were great music

  • This is one of the most beautiful videos I've ever watched on Youtube, thank you so much for the post!!!! Fantastic song!!

  • Hey guys I'm just starting to listen to simon and garfunkel. I've found quite a few songs that I love but can you suggest any to me. What are your favorites?

  • @newrealization12 you would have to try hard to pick a bad song by S&G .... have a great listen.

  • @tonkingulf69 You can try as hard as you want... It is absolutely impossible to find one that is not great (never mind a bad one).

  • @newrealization12 I really like Paul Simon's fingerpicking talent. I recommend Scarborough Fair & The Boxer.

  • @newrealization12 Kathy's Song! is #1 " April Come She Will" is #2! for me! enjoy!!

  • beautiful song, beautiful words, beautiful video - thank you for sharing.

  • 7 people prefer 50 cent

  • This kind of music reminds me of working at the grocery store listening to the Muzak station. I love music from the 70's/ 80's like John Lennon and The Carpenter's when music had feeling and meaning.

  • All music is great. Some is just...more great then others.. :)

  • @willhihaxors so so true!!

  • thank you mom and thank you dad for raising me on the beautiful, and true music. i can never repay you!

  • Sad but uplifting at the same time. 7 peoples leaves have turned to brown.

  • How can such a sad song make me feel so good?? These two artists are simply magical.

  • There's plenty of great, soulful music being written and released nowadays, just not really in the mainstream eye.

  • i just discovered this beautiful song and i am 23 now, but i won't be for long.

  • @emehawaiiace Enjoy being 24/25 and when you get to my age life becomes interesting.

  • ok i have a question. when i get 40 or 50 will today's artists be considered as classics? and when i ll be hearing to them in the future (accedentaly only) will i be feeling nostalgic for my generation and those years?? coz it seems to me that today's music (with handful of exceptions) doesn't wake any feelings to anyone. it only a matter of fashion i believe.

  • I like the pasture.I like the bebble in brook all we say or do radiates like that action in the brook by that pebble.Ya think?

  • Gorgeous.......

    5*****.

Thanks to MorrisManDanceMan for the 'share.'

    Jennie.

  • *Sigh* Why must I have been born in an age where I got made fun of as a kid for liking Simon and Garfunkel? They're so amazing! Simon and Garfunkel's smooth sounds and soothing melodies are timeless :D

  • Wow! First time I´ve heard this song. It´s simply fantastic!

  • cool song!!regards from ireland!!

  • they did this without "enhancements:" that so many of today's so called singers use, just pure real music!!!!! God bless Paul and Art for so many memories...

  • which album is this from?

  • @lu5do It's on several albums. This version is on the album "Live From New York City, 1967" but there's a more pop-ish version on the album "Sounds of Silence." The original however is on an old album called "The Paul Simon song book." All of the versions are great.

  • Hello, hello, hello.....

    Loved this.....nice job :)

  • mmmmm the world turns a different shade, sharper perhaps, and i can hear the birds out my window, the light play on the shades

  • I just love listening to the music of these two singers.... so lyrical and meaningful.

  • Very nice work.

  • God has no favorites when it comes to color, thats why he created man and nature in so many hues .Take care ADonovan43

  • Paul Simon is maybe the greatest American songwriter ever. Who wrote more classics?

  • @SpazzyLogic bob dylan probably

  • Timeless!

  • great...

  • Awesome..Always one of my favorites..Love you guys!!!

  • notice how he said that he's 22 now in the original version on the album but he says that he's 23 now in the live performance

  • brings a shiver up my spine.. poetry in harmony

  • The harmony and video is very nice.

  • SUCH inspired guitar playing on this - made all the more exquisite by being unchallenged by other instruments. I didn't know of this song until YouTube came along, but it is now one of my favorite S & G creations, with its intense sadness and melancholy mixed with true artistic greatness and sounds plucked out of thin air which leave one feeling amazingly good despite the nature of the subject matter.

  • That's all there is.....

  • the wind tome means lifes spiteful comments and lonliness

  • i wouldn't say that today's music isn't good...but it's def true that there is a lot of modern music out there that has lost its spirit due to commercial hidden agenda

  • i dont like people who think that tier intellectually superior to today's music. people are just doing thier own thing and maybe they DONT know whats up btu thats not thier fault, or thier parents fault or scocietys fault. its not a fault. thats just the way it is. they'll find out eventually. and i kind of like that.

  • Ahh so beautiful!! Their voices are sooo soothing:)

  • ONE OF MY BEST INSPIRATIONS!!!

  • very good

  • Good job, Big. nice viceo and sound equal to the quality of the music. Simon was my big hero in college. And his music holds up well after all those years. Real artists these two lads.

    Thanks.

  • Peace

  • PIE!

  • WONDERFUL video: complete genius!!! Thanks so much for providing a fitting setting for this sad yet beautiful song: i salute you!!

  • Fabulous video and fabulous singers- S&G are my favorites.

  • Im totally shocked,i always thought Billy Bragg came up with the first line of this song.

  • You did a really great job on this video--I enjoyed it. So many times the video doesn't seem to go with the song! Thank you.

  • This is by far my favorite Simon and Garfunkel song. Love them !!!

  • judging by your name that isnt surprising but i'd have to say that imo the sound of silence is their best work.

very nice video, must have taken a while to find all the right content

  • manythanx bigwallypants x

  • my fukin heros

  • wow! fantastic song and a fantastic video, thank you very much.

  • οκ

  • S&G will never not be listened to

  • lol, it's funny you would say that about a song describing impermanence. :)

  • very fine video

  • My favorite part:

"Once my heart was filled with the love of a girl.

I held her close, but she faded in the night

Like a poem I meant to write."

  • I come back to S&G songs every week or so and it always strikes me how great S&G fans are. All the other boards I visit are filled with hate and scathing arguments, but on the S&G boards there always seems to be mostly positivity being sent out into the ether. Thanks everyone for the uplifting comments.

  • 10000000000

  • Beautiful, Poetic, the song of life and love.

Once my heart was filled with the love for a girl, I held her close but she faded in the night, like a poem i meant to write...

  • *****

  • This is my most favorite S&G song ever. It's sad but still so beautiful. They wrote some awesome songs.

  • great music , great voices , puts todays so called music to shame !

  • meravigliosa................very gooddddddddd

  • I started listening to S&G around 1989, the year I left school. 20 years later and I still listen to them at least once a week. Absolutely timeless.

  • Being raised on the classics such as this leave today's artists seem too discordant for my ears to submit. thank you for a higher standard

  • well said.

  • thank you and pardon the grammatical error. Should read "leave today's artists seeming . . . "

  • @treehows You should listen to The Shins.....

  • @treehows Try Kings of Convenience or The Whitest Boy Alive

  • One brilliant songwriter with one acoustic guitar and flawless harmonies by Artie... touches my soul and gives me goosebumps.

  • such a sad song...

  • beautiful

  • Very pretty fan-made video.

  • A very special friend,

turned me on to this song. :)

Love you my friend and dig this song :)

  • Perfectly executed ... that is A-C-E !!! Excellent. Thanks for this very wholesome post.

My affinity for their music and poetry spanned 3 decades - love their tunes, love these guys. 17 going 70 (67 this year), love them just the same. Can't beat their repertoire - timeless, poignant, classic. They are one of the best!

Thrilled for their upcomoing 'Old Friends' tour in mid-June here at the land down under.

More power BWP, you are doing great, keep it up.

    Namaste,

    AutumnMyth

  • Excellent video!

  • I really like the video.

  • While communication with my ex has been sparse over the past few months, he texted me "Simon and Garfunkel - Leaves that are Green" last night.

I really don't know what else to say, except that this is certainly painful yet comforting at the same time.

  • "Once my heart was filled with the love of a girl.

I held her close, but she faded in the night

Like a poem I meant to write."

Pure poetry, that's for sure...Such a gifted couple of singers! Excelent job with the video
