I like how you end the video with a contact number for public enforcement, and not "go veg", but the truth is, the less we buy milk, and the more we eat green vegetables and drink soy/almond/rice milk in our cereals and pastries, the more of a blow we can send the industry. They will loose profit, and we will support the plant foods business. It's been working more and more, different dairy-less milk brands keep coming out, along with fake meats. We can win
Is it sad yes, BUT, the problem isnt with the drugging for extra milk, the problem is with the population of people. They have to do this because we have such a high demand for it. Same with chickens, when we give them horomes that make them grow faster but we have to. If you have a problem with it stop reproducing or simply dont drink milk. geez
Did you know that those cute little commercials you see on TV begging for you donation to the ASPCA are a fake? Where do you think you money really goes? Do you think it goes to help that dog or cat? How about this it really goes to try to get legislation to end modern farming practices, as well as crap like this ^^! So if americans want an unsafe and unhealthy food supply keep supporting organizations who have an obscured view on the Agriculture Industry!
And for anyone who believes that cali doesn't produce veal calves, its a lie. Not all the babiy calves are girls, people! All the males are good for is to be poor abused veal calves. Look it up, what these babies endure (the males). I saw a guy on a talk show claiming Cali does not have a veal industry. ANY dairy operation supports a veal indusry by default
Some people seem to thrive on being disrespectful. I don't understand it, but it appears by comments I see all over YouTube, that it's like an epidemic!~ Thanks for your kindness.
I think you all are fighting the wrong thing. The answer is not throwing out the baby with the bath water. What you should be fighting against is FACTORY FARMS, the HUGE 1,000 cow dairies. These farms are TOO BIG. Fight for FAMILY Farms, where there are fewer animals to maintain and each animal gets more specialized attention. When farms get too big that is when people cannot properly maintain their animals. Also, how about giving farmers a fair price for their milk!
You just said "farmers... their milk." Milk doesn't belong to farmers. It belongs to the cows. Stealing cows' milk depletes them of calcium. No amount of specialized attention is going to work when their bodies have become mere commodities. It's time to face reality. If humans want milk, why don't we drink our own? (I never actually sucked on a nipple... drank cow milk when I was a baby. How strange!)
You have already made up your mind on this issue and no amount of responses or conversations about cows and milk will change your mind. One question for you though . . . what is your educational background in? Do you have a degree in animal sciences or anything else to back up your claims? And as for grass-based dairies, what do you have to say about those?

Looks like vegans brains don't fully develop from lack of protein. They still can't grasp the fact that you cannot steal milk from calves. They believe what they see on selective videos on you tube, probably too weak to do a bit of research.
All of the comments below seem to be very negative and uneducated!I love how the media can say what they want about loading animals with antibiotics and butchering them. Last I knew every meat packing plant had to be USDA approved/inspected and no animal with an antibiotic in its blood stream is able to be slaughtered.
Can we really assume that plants are fully inspected. We already know that the USDA is understaffed, and given the size of some plants, how can one, two , or even three inspectors truly say a plant is safe? Just because the are rules and regulations prohibiting sick animals or animals with antibiotics does not mean that it doesn't happen. If we think it doesn't...then ignorance IS bliss. I eat meat, and I remind all fellow omnivores that you CHOOSE to eat it. Don't complain about it.
It has been proven that the USDA inspectors are there only long enough to give a cursory glance at the animals. If they can stand, they are passed. Beyond that, nobody is there to watch or care. It's a disgrace. I'm ashamed of humans and the barbaric animals that we have become with these factory farms. Before I became a vegetarian I can remember many times finding what looked like tumors on poultry, which then landed in the garbage can. Now I know that's exactly what they were; tumors.
ah hello QHAmom..."treated better"? Organics still has "finishing" or fattening time - about 2 months confinement like this set-up. They are pumped with antibiotics to insure profits for the farmer and to protect the rest of the herd from a totally unnatural/unhealthy environment. Further, the ride to the slaughter house is horrific.Once your beast arrives they will further treat him well by "humanely" killing him.Stop needless wreckless animal breeding & slaughter for MEat based "food".GO VEGAN

In Ireland cows are out on grass they get little or no concentrate feed. They yield around 1000 gallons of milk. Calves are also turned out to grass at 4 to 6 weeks and never confined to small pens. I don't get the big deal about taking calves from their mothers as cows have too much milk for their calves the calves still get plenty milk.
u californians are greedy and cruel bastards! how can u guys sleep at night leaving those downed cows on ur lots to suffer or know that u have pushed them around with a forklift, it is blatant animal cruelty and I really think animal control need to get tougher with these guys, leaving a calf to die naturally on the flor whilst suffering instead of humanely euthanising it IS animal cruelty like it or not!
What a great vid showing how important it is to look after our animals because we are eating their meat and by products and if they arent healthy they dont have much goodness to offer us...
milk is getting too expensive anyway and bloats you up like a fat bitch. I barely eat cow. but eat a lot of chicken that comes from my family farm with free roaming chickens. Ya, that means we chop their heads off with an axe. It's been done for many many years and I'm Native American.
whatch Food INC guys - really does expand on these issues and the bigger picture today!

As I can see here also you resort to name calling. What does name calling accomplish?
Everyone has a right to their opinion but being disrespectful of others can be a sign of group think, bigotry, and/or closed mindedness.
Again just like on the Beck video suggest you take a relax pill. Enjoy

Drinking milk - eatting dairy is literally stealing milk from a baby (calf) - Too cruel for me! no milk - no meat - no problem.
Go Vegan!

You are talking rubbish calves still get milk. Dairy cows have too much milk for one calf.
cattlewrangler 3 years ago
The only reason they make too much milk for a single calf is because they have been bred and drugged to do so.
For me, I don't want to drink the breast milk of another animal and I don't want to steal a baby cow's milk.
No milk - no eggs - no meat
Vegan!
