@dreamworldvsreality powder makeup pigments should work, but always test first. The "sparkle" in the pigments my sink or change colors. Add just a drop or two to a toothpick of the pigment. That way you don't waste alot if it has a reaction. It's always best to "liquify" the powder in a small amount of resin before adding it to the entire batch.
I love your videos and I have bought almost all your molds and still gonna buy more. I want to know more about glow in the dark powder. How much can I pour on a resin mix of 2 ounces. 1 part to 4 part resin would be resin mix or just resin without the hardener. What amount is good for 2 ounces of resin mix?
@datashine38 The calculation is for 1/2 ounce to 2 ounces of clear medium but you won't need that much for such small amounts of resin. Start with with something like half of a 1/4 teaspoon and add more until you like saturation. Too much will inhibit the resin from curing. An easy way is to charge the Glow Powder first and then add to resin. That way you are able to tell when it's enough.
When I mixed the black pigment into mine, it turned out really sticky. It's been about 3 days & it's still sticky. What did I do wrong ? All the other pieces (without black in them) cured up fine.
@ResinObsession It's liquid colorant. And it doesn't seem to be the right consistancy. Could it be old ? I only added a couple drops to about an ounce & instead of black it came out gray.
Also, I want to purchase the polish in your eBay store. If I use the polishing kit do I still have to redip my pieces to get them all shiny and pretty ?
@AFateSoTwisted It's not old but did need to be shaken well. It has a tendancy to seperate from the oil. Shake well and add colorant to the resin side so you can add enough hardener to compensate for the colorant. The novus will buff out minor scratches but it is not going to give you the glass like shine dipping will do. thanks cindy
"There are liquid dyes and pigments made especially for resin. You can find a variety of colors online at Resin Obsession, Dick Blick, and Mister Art. Please note, this is the only type of liquid colorant you can add to resin. Normally with resin I’d say, experiment, experiment, experiment! But not with this. Any other liquid (i.e, paint, food coloring) will react with the resin – it won’t cure and will instead stay a yucky, sticky blob forever."
could you make a SCULPEY or FIMO clay mold then try this?I want to see if it would work or not without baking it it will stay soft and the piece will come out of it I imagine?
I love your videos and feel like I have learned so much from watching them that I have not seen in the resin books I've read. Even little tricks like pouring over your stir stick are great tips. Will definitely be signing up for your newsletter. Thank you!
I would love to see a video of the layering process. I love how people make pendants with a picture embedded and then a layer of glitter for the back!!! I tried to do this process...but I think maybe I didn't let each of my layers dry long enough!!! Plus like you said in the other video-I must have not mixed well enough because parts of mine were sticky :(
Thank you. Everyone is so kind. I have a bunch of other exciting things on the burner:) Sign up for my newsletter at my eBay store Resin Obsession. I've got a lot of ideas plus I will be going to trade-shows and sharing what I find. Great Day, Cindy
I love your videos! Thanks for the help! :)

I put the black in a pipette then released it while the pipette was in the resin.

Thank you for posting your videos, very instructional, how did you embedded the black?

@AFateSoTwisted It sounds like you added too much colorant. which resin are you using? is it the liquid or powder colorant?

@ScarlettZero It's best to use a resin dye.

@FunkyTreasures
What would using acrylic paint in wet resin do? It won't smoke or cause a problem would it?

Actually found my own answer to my question.
