God, this takes me back as a kid. I remember get lemonade off the Iceman and getting 10p off the next one with the one bottle.

There was an earlier version of this ad which featured Elvis Costello's dad & a young Elvis in the background. The ad showed Elvis's dad as a lead singer of a band singing this song. A few years later they shot this ad which kept the song but had a completely different setting. This is the most famous version that everybody remembers with the guy sneaking down to the kitchen. I didn't know that there was a different ad before this until I saw a countdown on C4 of the 100 best commercials.

This version of the ad is from 1975, in the eighties they re-did it two or three times with famous people appearing from behind the fridge door. John McEnroe and Frankie Howerd were two.

The Main Singer is Ross McManus (Elvis Costello's dad). Elvis's real name is Declan McManus, who Indeed sung the backing vocals with his father Ross. The actor in the advert miming is Julian Chagrin and NOT Royce Mills.

Royce Mills? . . . where did THAT come from? Glad you could put us straight on the actor though as I didn't know his name. The actress is Harriet Philpin; The Sweeney, Dr Who, etc at the same sort of time . . .

@flametop93 I saw this commercial recently on a Top 100 countdown, and remebered it, but when i saw the woman, i thought i'd seen her before; thanks for providing the name, i've found out subsequently she was in an episode of Blake's 7 (Redemption), which is one of my fave series.

@TheUTubeTeamSucks , Yes, think she turned up in The Sweeney and so forth - she was def one of the supporting characters in the Nazi-esque 1970s Dr Who story, the Genesis of the Daleks, which seems to always get voted up as one of the best episodes.
