No wonder this failed, An electrical company opening in a saturated market with an advert like this was a dire mistake. It should have pinpointed the failings of its three main rivals (Comet Currys Argos) Staff with no passion about the products they sell or any idea about them. This is the reason Carphone opened up BestBuy... It was all too easy now for the last giant (currys) to spend a few quid training staff, breaking the only goal BestBuy could have won. was never going to work.
It's a shame Best Buy had to close as I frickin' despise the treatment I got in Comet and Curry's they bully you into taking out a warranty, in fact when Curry's were Dixons one employee even said I was crazy to my face.
@lyris1 This is the main reason the shop failed. In a saturated market the advert should have focused on bad service of other shops, but... we get a bloke dancing and the last five seconds, oh its just another electrical shop and american. Nowhere on the advert does it say where the shops are or why they are different, I live only one mile from one and only now do I know that they existed now they close down this Sunday. The staff have been let down by top boss poor decisions.
The people that work in best buy, pc world, or the apple store are total retards, and as soon as you get a little technical with them they start spouting a load of crap to cover their inadequate knowledge of anything technical.
All they care about is trying to sell you a load of rubbish that you don't need with your initial purchase. The problem is if they had the least bit of intelligence or knowledge they wouldn't be in retail.
BestBuy. The firm that destroyed TowerRecords, HMV, taking over Blockbuster, buying out Gamestop and about to kill Currys, Argos, HMV UK and any EB games.
Loved Best Buy when I lived in the States, it was hard coming over to the UK where all we had was Curry's and PC World! Great to have Best Buy over here, hopefully you kick some sense into these other retailers!
love this commercial!!! I wish it would be shown here in the united states!!! oh and by the way for citzalito90, there is NO hhgregg in the UK Lame-o!!!! Sounds like someone just couldn't get a job working for the blue box..... too bad for you.
Lmao the 20K a year best buy employee is thrilled to show up to his hs dropout managed piss poor customer service oriented best buy job. Where his managers will harass and threaten him about not meeting their budgets for them. Im just glad that here in america people are proud of working at a mcdonalds like retail store that pays em below the poverty line. Ill stick with HHgregg
FYI that ad was filmed in store and features 4-5 of my colleagues in the final scene. Yes its cringe worthy. But its so bad its good. A fun advert and thats what best buys about people that can give you the best advice whilst making it fun.
Why, O why put an american accented voiceover on it if it's for the UK market!?!? Most people in the UK still haven't got a clue that you guys have got stores over here, It might be good if you tried to present yourself as a bit more British, then more people here might care who you are and what you do.
@purityofnero I KNOW!!! and don't get me started on the Old Spice adverts... no one is that awesome not even my dad and he's and alligator weaselling astronaut who drives race cars to unwind.
@purityofnero lol it would take him at least half an hour maybe longer with the M25 depending on where hes coming from, lol i would have liked for people that work at the store to be in it too.
@bytecomber In all our stores you’ll find the latest and greatest technology, switched on and ready to try out, but with a new level of advice and support.
The stars of this ad, our Blueshirts, spend nine weeks training at our dedicated academy and are ready to give you advice about finding the products that are right for you.
We’d love you to check out a store and let us know what you think – contact us @ community@bestbuy.co.uk if you’d like a guided tour!
@BestBuyUK That academy--is that where the Blueshirts train for all that dancing, trick-riding, gymnastics and such? I'd go into Best Buy frequently, just to see some more of that! Seriously, this is a really fun, effective ad, and that lead guy is great! Makes me feel inclined to head on over to Best Buy! Thanks for the smile.
@TheArby1 BestBuy is an amazing company to work for honestly, its so much fun working their! no pressure and we meet some great new people. We might not go to work this way cuz we'd be locked up with white jackets on and put in a padded cell lol, but honestly arby it really is a cool company to work for :)
@TheArby1 Goodness come on its an advert and a darn good one...dont want it to be boring as it would have to be, if a guy just walks slowly to the bus stop, gets on the bus all the way to BestBuy....and no music??? get a grip!

It's strange... so American and upbeat, but walking through that depressing English village with all the brick houses.
Also, is that a pretend American accent at the end or my ears failing me?
