I picked up a New SoHo 2x12' Matching Cabinet with an Alnico Gold and a Gh12h30 Gold frame Anniversary...This Tube Amplifier is alright with Stratocasters...actually a Tad bit on the Brite Side BUT Great none the less. Very Versatile too! The Magic with the SoHo is with Humbuck'in Guitars! I have never heard such Tone and with such CONTROL! I plugged in my Collings SoCo Deluxe and the SoHo BLEW ME AWAY! The SoHo + The SoCo = The Absolute BEST TONE! Doc
i love how the british are brought into guitar tone so much "it makes it sound british"....pity the english bands of today dont sound like that and just sound terrible.
@ryandude1994 when they describe amps as sounding "british" they're usually referring to the amp manufacturers which come from the UK, specifically to the marshall sound but can also refer to manufacturers such as hi watt and vox.
For me the british sound comes from el34 tubes or akin to them like the el84's here, as opposed to the american sound which came from 6l6 and 6v6 tubes in fender amps.
Of course guitarists all over the world were/are using british amps. Just wanted to clear that up =)
I think any musician who's been playing the bars for 20 plus years should get an automatic 50% of the price of these amps!! God knows we can't afford them. :(
youtube doesn't do these amps justice. Once you've heard one or better played on one... sigh... you just can't imagine the tone and responsiveness. One day 65, one day !
I really appreciated that this guy didn't just "shred" like some people do in demoes. He actually played some chords and some sweet lead licks that really showed the tonal variations in the amp.
@tomiclav Agreed; on top of that, he seems really cool and not too self-obsessed like some well-known demonstrators on YouTube, who shall remain nameless.
thanks soooo much PGS!!!! I would never found all of the obscure pedals and cool amps and such with out you. I wish you did like 3 videos each day just a suggestion :)
Very sophisticated & professional sound. Unlike the cheesy Orange or veiled Peavey or harsh marshall or annoying mesa stuff. Not as good as Laney 4 heavy stuff tho' (bit muddy).
Disagreed. Orange is not a cheesy amp...my Rocker 30 overdriven sounds much thicker and warmer than this demo. Not knockin 65 amps...they are great and I dig them. You can't even compare a Peavey or Laney to this amp, its a boutique amp and cost like 1000-2000 more than most of those amps.
Can Peter and or the Power's that be run the same setting through a Gretsch Jet - or something with TV Jones pickups - I think we'd all love to hear it.
He demo'd their pedals for the DVD you get when you buy an EHX pedal. He dmo'd them through these amps. He actually designed the 65 amps range and is guitarist with Sheryl Crow...
that beast of a head is only an 18watt?! they could have made it half the size, like the size of an Orange Tiny terror fu&#'s sake...brilliant sound however
notice how the 65 amps design on the front grill is very close to what a fender would look like if you pulled away the speaker grill. Cool as hell idea
It's not apparent by the video, unless I missed it, but is the 65 cab below the heads being mic'd? If so, what speakers were in it, and which ones were mic'd? Thanks, and awesome job!
I like your licks more than the amp, some sweet tone going on man

If the Marshall engineers aren't listening.............they better be!
This amp is very well thought out and if you love the British Rock concept...
This amp is perfect.....I like it better than the Marshall Haze.
Built in modeling effects aren't really needed because a Boss modeling pedal is far superior.
This amp is staight forward........to the point....Excellent design and sound!!

@synthwerkusa The Haze isn't even in the same ballpark as this amp. Haha
