The only Metallica album where the drums actually impress me is And Justice for all, and I've read in several places that some of the drumming (like Dyer's Eve) had to use loops.

A drummer's purpose in a band is to provide the timing in which everything is played, and I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate from drummers for saying that, but its true.
