  • I love this. I am so happy that I can hear the passion in your voice and playing. Great job!

  • I think is fantastic you enjoyed playing this beautiful song and that is what matter. I wish I could do that. Keep going.

  • Just wonderful. Thats what this forum is all about - men being themselves - kids

  • say a song is sung in G then goes to C then say D and someone does it from G but goes to a different chord rather than C that would make the song sound crap and not how it should be done

  • @marycockburn1 You are of course entitled to your own opinion on the subject, but I along with many other musicians like to play and sing songs as I interpret them and deliberately not copy others. If we all sang songs exactly the same way, there would be no point in listening to other versions as everything would sound the same. All music is subjective. Even classical music is interpreted differently by different conductors. As I said in the accompanying information (cont)

  • @marycockburn1 I am not a competent enough guitarist to play the sort of accompaniment Paul Simon and the session musicians play to Garfunkel's singing. I do not read music, but I enjoy very much playing and singing which I do by ear. If you want to hear Simon and Garfunkel singing the song, choose one of their videos. If you want to hear how other musicians interpret the song, check them out. Each to his/her own.

  • i take it this is your own way of playing this yes? and you are not playing the correct chords by paul simon on perpuse yes?????

  • @marycockburn1 You are correct in your assumption. I am playing it my own way with chords I have worked out for myself.

  • ok i can respect that and making a song your own doing it your way is fine but the chords in my opinion still need to be used in the way it is really . what i meen is for example say you want to say it in your own style different to art then thats fine but if the chords were not played to sound much like simon and artfunkels it would sound bad . its hard to explain what i meen. ill try it another way ok

  • thanks so much
