I don't think its that complicated. In oct of 08 in massachusetts there was a voter initiative to remove all criminal penalties for poss. of marijuana(btw, it passed). There were two groups of people that were adamantly against it.
A. The police-They get to arrest X number of people for it, and there easy arrests. When they ask for more money for their budget, # arrests affects it. It also effects the "crime rate".
Then theres asset forfeiture, the police don't like to talk about this, but its a big moneymaker for them. Anytime you see "someshithole drug task force" thats what there job is, to steal. the cars, homes, cash, whatever they take, they keep, use it, then sell it, they get to keep the money. We need to take our right to grow hemp and marijuana, or it will never happen. 2012 We need to plant 500 million plants of hemp. It doesn't need to be smokable cannabis, just Industrial hemp with little or no THC. That way you wont care about watering, or harvesting. It will give the plants presence. 2012

But still, there are valid reasons why NOBODY should do these drugs. Marijuana on the other hand is completely safe and in fact has benefits.

There has been much in the way of (tax-payer funded) research on cannabis. Clinton is simply obfuscating herself. The tax payer and the state should not be involved with any research or medicalizing of marijuana. The bureacratic-administrative presence is not needed, as it is costly, inefficient, and quite simply, non of the govt.'s business to stick its nose in a private affair. This is a Constitutional issue that the state would rather not address head on.

You can overdose on Milk and Tylenol; something nobody thinks about, however unless you can consume 40lbs of Marijuana in 8 hours, you can't overdose on Marijuana. Nobody has died from Marijuana, though lot of people have died in prisons because they have been denied access to Marijuana after they were jailed for smoking it. We know what element of marijuana does this, its called THC and its already turned into a drug called marinol. However, it's made from synthetic THC and is not as effective as the real thing. Marijuana was popular with Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Kennedy, etc. These mother fuckers smoked, They lived succesful lives - other been half of those listed being shot. But I mean honestly despite it all should it be legalized? or just openly accepted? straight up, pharmaceutical companies can't patent marijuana so they don't want it to be legalized... for instance, I get very aggressive migraines, I used to take advil, back when I thought man made medications were good. Now I smoke when I get a headache and the difference... night and day

I don't think its that complicated. In oct of 08 in massachusetts there was a voter initiative to remove all criminal penalties for poss. of marijuana(btw, it passed). There were two groups of people that were adamantly against it.
A. The police-They get to arrest X number of people for it, and there easy arrests. When they ask for more money for their budget, # arrests affects it. It also effects the "crime rate".

Then theres asset forfeiture, the police don't like to talk about this, but its a big moneymaker for them. Anytime you see "someshithole drug task force" thats what there job is, to steal. the cars, homes, cash, whatever they take, they keep, use it, then sell it, they get to keep the money. Law enforcement calls this being "self-sufficient"

B. the second group of people so against prop. 2 were the district attorneys, the prosecutors. Have you ever known anyone arrested for a little bag of pot? What happens when they go to court? They admit guilt, pay money, and have to do some bullshit maybe. The prosecutor successfully prosecuted the case! They didn't have to do anything, the defendant comes into court, pleads guilty, pays money, this is called "quick resolution", and its like a "freebee" for them.

but marijuana makes you um ...er...um ...forget.Any smoke you put in your lungs does a shitload of damage.But if you injest it,as in cookies or cake,then it is 100%harmless.Heroin is not toxic to the human body.People die from it because they take too much and it slows the heart down to the level of stop.Just the right amount is harmless except for the addiction angle,and whatever crap it gets mixed with.
