  • thats not a hit join motocross

  • Basically Dont give up even if you fail just keep going

  • The chick that bumped into her just touched her shoulder then left like nothing happend. What the hell?!

  • @16princessful I don't think it was mean spirited. They are not allowed to help each other for fear of causing greater injury. Watch other videos with skating accidents and you'll see what I mean. The skater has to get up on his/her own otherwise they'll be considered not apt to skate and thus disqualified. If a medic has to come on the ice, the same outcome will happen. That is why everyone waited to see if she was able to stand for herself or if she asked for help.

  • @MaxDexus Oh I didn't know that! Thank you for clearing it up! :)

  • Why did no one go out on the ice to help her?!! These days in sports, medics are on the court/floor/w/e within seconds for any stupid little injury -__-

  • the 2 fastest ladies at the time!

  • @WHATTHEBUCKSHOW BUCK! I FOUND YOU COMMENT! :'D

  • @MuchoTheSquirrel Midori might have told her she was okay and then walked away. But I don't think that was on purpose, the girl in the aqua dressed could have been hurt if that had ended up badly. I don't think anyone would risk such a stunt for their career.

  • does anyone know if that toe counted ??

  • That girl in the aqua dress who hit her, I think she did that on purpose. She just got up and skated away after hitting her. Yeah she put one hand on the other girls back but if it was a real accident don't you think there would of been a lot more sorrys "are you ok"s then that?

  • @MuchoTheSquirrel think there a little focused on competition, they both want to get back to their warm up right away plus you can talk afterwards too

  • @MuchoTheSquirrel You have NO idea what you're talking about. Judges take these accidents VERY seriously. An accident like this could cost a skater their career or their lives. The french skater did not help Midori because THE RULES PROHIBIT HER from doing so, as much as she might have wanted to.

  • Congratulaitions sje3s idha

  • jajajajjajaja

  • OMG WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING LETICIA YOU'RE THE WORLDS WORST SKATER HUNNY YOU SHOULDN'T RUN INTO ONE O FTHE BEST HUNNY OK?

  • That was nothing

  • Dang. I think she's the only skater I know of that skates with huge speed.

  • Oh my god. Do people actually look where they are going? And the other skater just left without apologising! I respect Midori. What a brave girl.

  • it lokked like she hit her in the vigina

  • have you ever goten hurt at school and every bodys like are you ok! are you ok ! and in side your SREAMING! and the out side you lokk ok . its horibl :/

  • Is this why they now have closed barriers? HAHA!

  • Quality hip check!

  • Respect.

  • And its determination in the skaters like Midori that I love about figure skating. A lot of respect for her!

  • フランス人

    わざとだろ。

  • "....but one of the most important things for her is that she lost nearly two minutes of crucial warm up time." Yes that is true, but I think the commentator's priorities are a little off; she just got "body-slammed" against the wall.

  • @valeriemd2b omg, you guys! Some of you obviously love the sport, but don't know very much about it's rules. Warm ups are CRUCIAL for skaters at this level. A warm up basically determines what could potentially happen during the actual competition. Judges ARE looking and taking notes on skaters while they warm up and skaters ARE REQUIRED to do warm ups for a specific amount of time. A skater who does not comply can be fined in some way.

  • @MaxDexus Yes I'm sure warm-ups are crucial (along with other requirements), but again, it's difficult to warm-up when you're not sure if you broke a rib or have a pneumothorax; that would definitely have an impact on your skating ability during the actual competition.Once you've established that you dont have a collapsed lung caused by blunt force trauma, THEN you can contemplate: "Damn, I've lost crucial warm-up time. I hope the judges didn't see that." That's what I mean by priorities.

  • @valeriemd2b You don't watch a lot of high-level ice skating competitions, do you? I've seen skaters compete with broken ankles, feet, ribs, collarbones, wrists... and they finish their routines AND PLACE. For an olympic level competitor, pain is not an option THEY ARE HUMANS and they SHOULDN'T compete under these conditions, but sadly that is not always the case. We get up, shake it off, finish the thing, and THEN whe moan and cry and let the doctors do their jobs.

  • Actually you're right, I dont watch a lot of ice-skating competitions LOL.But I'm involved in high level sports & totally agree w/ you on how determined (or stubborn lol) high performing athletes can be.& thats what Im alluding to.Like you say, they shouldn't compete under those conditions but they do. An elite competitor has different priorities than others & the commentator here has that mindset as well, but in reality health should come first ;) But I guess thats job security for docs, lol jk

  • @valeriemd2b =)

  • OUCH!

  • uhhhg pussy how would that hurt

  • was purposely

  • Power, strength, fearlessness but with humility. What a truly noble person. I can imagine every one in Japan saying with heartfelt pride that, "..yes, she's one of ours and a shimmering embodiment of the character and values we believe in".

  • xD So Wut NO

    xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD >:D

    YES!

  • Does anyone know that Midori means green in Japanese.... I love it :)

  • takes it like a champ!! luv midori

  • that is a true performer.

  • First of all, it wasn't Surya but Laetitia Hubert who crashed into Midori... And then, she couldn't stop it! Too bad for both of them, but things like that happen.

  • @twilliger123

the girl in green was going backwards, she couldn't stop the crash

they were both going really really fast

    i hope they both recovered

  • ouch!!

  • Midori means 'green' in Japanese

  • The girl in green is a bitch.all i can say

  • WTF!!She just walks away!!!

  • Poor kid! I feel so bad that these things happened to her on world television. What a trooper. She really has the attitude of a champion.

  • @horselove121998 lol! hahha :)

  • Surya did NOT check on her, she skated close to her to rattle her just like she did when she did the back flip in front of her at the Olympics! Surya was notorious for shadowing and trying to rattle skaters she didn't like, Midori was one of them!

  • They are taught to keep on performing and act graceous regardless how they mess up there performance.

  • I love how she was caring about the camera. I'm proud of her.

  • I couldn't be fan of Ito at the time b/c I was a baby.... but now, i'm happy that I'm fan of hers now b/c ppl leave many kind comments on Ito's videos... totally proves how much she was loved :)

  • BEST METAXA COMMERCIAL EVER!

  • 6:00 Purple baseboard? Either this vid is discolored or that commentator really needs to have his eyes checked...

  • I LOVE that she went and made sure the cameraman was okay. Just a wonderful person, and so gracious. That's why she was such a fan favorite.

  • Damn! She skates faster than any girl i've seen here. After 2 crashes, wow another great example of a strong skater.

  • Heres the dialouge of what happend as the accident happened.

Girl: Oh look. There's Midori. Oh well.

Midori: This chick keeps comming at me... Crap.

Girl: I just SMOKED Midori. Oh well. Buh bye!

  • Guys, you are lucky that skater at least checked for even a few seconds... usually they would just ignore her and keep on skating.

  • OMG. She's one tough cookie. First that nasty crash with the other skater, and then through the barrier. I would've been so embarrassed to show my face ever again if that happened to me.

  • Wow! This little girl has charm, charisma, grace, style and a great personality! She's so cute to watch; I sure do miss her! I so remember when all this happened.

  • SABOTAGE!!!!

  • the other one thought this was hockey :(

  • Ito was turned into a cheetoh

  • @gray1963 ...this makes no sense

  • Oh poor Midori even though I'm ashamed to admit that I laughed when she jumped out from the rink ;)

  • Surprised it doesn't happen more often in warmups, really. But Ito...man, was she a master.

  • The female skater who slammed into her did stop and seemed to ask her if she was all right at around :22 (though touching a just injured Ito on the back right after she went into the boards was a silly thing to do).

  • Textbook Hip-Check. Keep your head up Ito.

  • She is so nice... Look at her sincere movement and human being! I love her. Look at her shine

  • Comment removed

  • Woah. And that girl who skated right into her wasn't a bxtch. Did you see the slight nod? Gosh.

  • @straightfromthelip She always flew too close to the boards. :) So many times she'd nearly hit them. Too much power! I love how she check on the camera, that is CLASS. LOL!

  • The people that comment on "that girl" skating away obviously missed the part RIGHT BEFORE where she checked on Ito. She had to tend to her own injuries as well. Come on, people. Even Surya checked on her, you can see the slight nod as she skates off. Welcome to figure skating, it happens.

  • I've always wondered how do they ALL warm up on the ice at the same time??? This is only bound to happen.

    Have they changed that policy?

  • OMG! she got back in the ice rink like nothing happened lol! epic moment in figure skating right there! shes amazing : )

  • The girl that ran into her is a bitch. She just walked away like that!!

  • The most durable skater of her era!!

  • Damn....Ito is tough as nails.

  • thats a funny looking kitchen.

  • Midori was sooooo powerful and fast that standard size rinks were not big enough for her. The best women free skater EVER!

  • @npe1 In that sense she kinda reminds me of Carolina Kostner... she has to be really careful with standard size rinks because she's soooo fast!

  • I can see midori's legs were shaking after the performance so I can tell how her injured was bad.

However, she cared the cameramen and tried to smile not to worry other people.

Even though she fell, she went back to the program immediately.

    I was impressed.

    I respect midori.

  • Woow!! Respect!!!

  • CAN I STILL HAZ KIDZ?

  • Why didn't anyone help her off the ice? I can't believe that girl just walked away without helping her up. Some people are so rude!

  • Oh get off Hubert's back. She obviously touched Ito's back and asked her if she was okay. She was shaken herself. I swear the utter ridiculousness of people these days.

  • wow that other bitch just walks awway

  • 当り屋ユベール!!

    こいつ、いまごろどうしてるのかな

  • that french bitch just got up and dinghyed her while she lay down and nearly died the french girl just got up AND FUCKING LEFT WTF I WOULD HAVE SAT AND HELPED HER

  • But in the end I think Midori is playing the theatre. And I would like carry her also. Midori is extremely outstanding.

  • judges did not understand that she is the first one who executed this difficult jump when an figure skater hitted the camera. Even an commentator said: "I haven't seen anything like this before." And I haven't seen anything like this after to this time. Midori is extremely outstanding.

  • Comment removed

  • And some people actually have the nerve to say that figure skating isn't a real sport...

  • wow big girl

  • Wow!!, when she bounced back in less than a second and kept doing her lovely footwork I was in shock!!, no skater could have done that!, she's so brave and awesome!

  • was just not her day...

  • To you guys who say the girl was rude for walking away... it's good enough that she tried making sure that Midori was okay. Most figure skaters would be angry or completely ignore her.

  • i hate how that girl just walked away 00:24

  • @hotlittlechick92 omg i no what a bitch!

  • @hotlittlechick92 From 18-24 she looked like she might have talked to her and looked at her to see if she was okay before she walked away.

  • @hotlittlechick92 She probably didn't know how to speak to her. It looked like she asked 'are you alright' but they very well wouldn't be able to understand each other.

  • @hotlittlechick92

    Yeah-it was just like:

    "Oh, jeez, sorry about that,"

    *Ito still on the floor*

    *girl pats Ito's back*

",You OK? *Ito still on floor* Good, I'll just leave you alone and continue my own routine."

    *Skates away*

    >:(

  • I know it's impossible really, but I don't think she should have been deducted more than .1. She obviously landed the triple lutz beautifully, and started the double toe.

  • Now that's called sportsmanship. Shame on that girl who bumped into her... Think of it this way. You train for your entire life, then have that one opportunity scrutinized by an accident. I'd be really pissed, but this girl pulled it together.

  • Wow, she is just REALLY unlucky today. However, i think the hopping in the skate was a bit uncalled for, she could've just taken BOTH of her skates off instead of adding all the extra stress. It was also her fault that she fell through the boards because she either started in the wrong spot or her edges were off. She should've ended up in the same spot as would've in all her practices. But that fall looked like it would've hurt! Like when she fell through the boards! But she lovely 3Lutz.

  • My ribs might be broken, but more importantly, I lost 2 WHOLE minutes of warm up time!!! Who the hell does that announcer think he is

  • CRY BABY!!!!!!

  • @lolmonkey98 people can take different pain factors. and as an ice skater she works 10 times harder then you probably do. if you dont, then sorry.

  • Skyler beattie add me on fb

  • A hockey player would just shrug and get back into the game.

  • @TallSwede9 yea but they have a lot of padding on

  • @TallSwede9

Please post any hockey game with players wearing no protectors!! Actually, a friend of mine played ice hocky very seriously. He thinks figure skating is more scary/dangerous than ice hockey. Two main reasons are no protectors and skating backward. He knows that somebody skating into him from the butt with full speed could cause him serious damage. Also don't forget; Ito, who got crashed, was one of the smallest skaters. Hubert is at least 10cm/4inches taller than Ito.

  • And holy crap she's amazing!!! I don't think any other skater could have literally bounced back the way she did!

  • WTF!! What's wrong with that other skater!? She just skated away like she didn't even care! Midori couldn't even get up right away!

  • whatch her fly..lol

  • It agitates me how people comment about how the French girl 'just skated away'. That collision probably knocked up that girl pretty good aswell, so she might have skated back to her coach.

  • @BlackRockTaffy Yes, but you still make sure the other person is okay as well! The french skater was obviously in better shape if should could get up right away and skate off.

  • Two accident same day???Wow(In Estonian language:Kaks õnnetust samal päeval?Tase!)

  • love the fall on the ice !

  • did madori won in this competition?

  • @8170056 No she, did not. The Americans went 1-2-3 that year. Kristi Yamaguchi first, and then I can't remember between Harding and Kerrigan who finishes second and who finishes third, but my memory makes me think Kerrigan was second this year.

  • @8170056 I stand corrected. The order of finish went Yamaguchi, then Harding in 2nd and then Kerrigan in 3rd. All you need to do to see previous year's winners, is to google World Figure skating championships medalists and click on the wikipedia orlink OR the official ISU link for results....good luck

  • I don't blame the French girl for skating away. These skaters are trained to skate the warm up no matter what happens. You can see that she is torn between her trained response to keep moving and her sense of decency to stop and help. Poor thing

  • HOLY CRAP!! I just finished the rest of the vid and she couldn't have been dealt a worse card. Poor thing, she did wonderfully for what she was working with, lol.

  • Pisses me off how the french girl just walks away....

  • @KEBokeh omg same!

you would think she would help her aye!

    geeeeeeeze lol

  • @KEBokeh It looked liked the French girl asked her if she was OK :24 and she nodded "Yes." Then she skated away.

Daggone that was scary!! Not the worst but still pretty bad...

  • the girl is a hot mess....

    smh...

  • :o Midori Ito is so forgiving! Normally skaters at my rink would yell at the person if they got hit

  • Читаю некоторые комменты и в шок прихожу. Охрененно, блин, смешно. Вас бы, особо развеселившиеся на её место, вот бы я поржала. Что здесь смешного?

    Придурки.

  • Her layback spin is one of the best.

  • Midoro is the better skater--but took the worst of it...What a shame!

  • I love how the french cow just gets up and skates away

  • For a moment ithought the black girl was going to help her...f\\

  • muhahahah

  • BAM!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha sholder pads... but thats happened to me. it hurts but it didn't happen as badly

  • at least it was a clean hit...lol

  • Midori: "YES FINALLY IM DOING IT!"

Other girl: "THIS IS MAH RINK BETCH!"

  • search "Midori Ito, the LYING, fabricated documentary" on YouTube

  • Horrific fall into the camera pit, but I can't stop laughing! It's just so ridiculous!!!

  • okayyyy....so the girl who ran into her didnt evern check to see if she was okay! what a bitch!

  • her skating is so beautifull XD l

  • She is Laëtitia Hubert. B!

  • wtf this actually reminds me of nhl crashes :D

  • OMG the crash was pretty nasty but the way she skated off the rink and then running back in was sooo hilarious! shes very tough and sweet as well. classic moment of figure skating right there!

  • Lol raped

  • omg that blue person's a real twit!!

  • Did she win

  • Wow,... that other girl is such a bitch... You just crashed into somebody and you don't even stop to ask if she's ok.. Wow..ya... i'm an opera singer, and people say we are bitchy. figure skaters beat all.

  • como paso tanto tiempo hasta que alguien la cargara, solo cámaras tontas por todas partes

  • it looked like French skater asked if she was OK and Midori nodded...

  • oh my gosh that looked like it hurt bad. that girl was mean she didn't even stay to help.

  • she didn't get any deductions :P LOL

  • This Worlds seemed to be the beginning of the end for Ito when it came to being a real force to win the Olympics a year later. I think the pressure of the Japanese press was already wearing her down and these accidents had to shake her up even more.

  • 演技後にカメラの損傷がないかなどの配慮が同じ日本人女性として素晴らしい、誇りです!

She really cared, if the cameras were ok. I am proud of her.

  • これについて日本スケ連は何も抗議すらしなかったみたいですね。
