I don't think China and some of the other asian countries are in recession, although growth has certainly slowed downed over there as they exports lots to the west.

Only the good ones make money. A word of advice, do something because you love it, not because it will make you money. Because although money is important, happiness is more so, plus you'll never be good at something without passion.
