@gmbdeals1 underachiever? are you stupid? wow I can't believe I just wittnessed somebody calling Kevin Garnett the biggest underachiever in NBA history.. that was the dumbest comment in YouTube history.
I got chills. I have the utmost of respect for people like Bill Russell and KG. Truly revolutionary leaders and heart-inspired players. I'm a Lakers fan by the way.
the Greatest winner in the history of The NBA says he will share one of his rings with you, that will definatly light a fire under your ass cause, even though he was gracious enough to do that, you want to earn your own ring.
@tramsay1027 I agree. I used to wonder about the pressure on him when he not only played, but also coached the team. I think that the team sensed this and stepped up their play.

11 NBA championships, an Olympic Gold Medal, 2 NCAA Championships and 2 High School Championships...the greatest winner in all of sports, Bill Russell
@switchinlaaaaaaaanes You're a fucking idiot my friend.. Chamberlain was a Laker, so much you know. All you fucking Laker fans don't know jack shit about the NBA you think that Kobe is the greatest of all time? Homie you need a reality check. How old are you 11?
Im a die hard lakers fan but i gotta admit i have a ton of respect for Bill Russell, what a classy man, a legend and a true credit to the sport. I really hope lakers and celts go at it one more time this year...the way it should be :)...not lakers heat..
Heathercb07 actually we beat LA by 39 points in 08 haaahah that's funny how we murder them to close out a series and then they only win by 4 points cuz of the fucking refs
Hell yea game 6 was fixed Celtics was playing horrible that day n den game 7 the was playing so good until the lakers-like they always do-start cheating smh when Boston won that championship back in 08 they killed the lakers by 33 wow lakers/Kobe beat by only 4 WTF due to fouling n cheating yea these games be rigged as hell smh GO CELTICS y'all gon win real talk
Some people get medals, "pats in the back" (thank you Roger Waters for the line) rings, oscars, tons and tons and tons of green. People buy collars, diamonds, precious stones that demanded another person´s life...
BILL RUSSELL´s words, they have no price. Specially when those lines come from the heart and soul of an unbelievable person. Of course he made mistakes, just as he got it right most of the time. Imagine what Kevin Garnett felt in that moment...
i love this interview. im so sad STILL that tmy C's lost. i know it was fixed ppl but it just hurts to see the Celtics lose. ive been a celtics fan all my life. basketball means more to me then any sport...and Celtics are my favorite team EVER! it just killed me to watch them walk off that laker court with their heads down. im not gonna lie i cried bcuz it hurt so much. it felt like as if i was on the team and i just lost...i really cant put it into words how dissapointed i am.
@BostonCelticsForLife I know how you feel... it's been a rough past couple of weeks. Very disappointing end to an otherwise thrilling and inspirational Playoff run. (But personally, I don't believe anything was fixed.)
@garnetttribute ok im not one of those guys who are in denial and only think their right and shit. but honestly deep down inside i just have a straight up gut feeling that it was fixed. bcuz were too good to lose by 20+ pts in game 6. and im sure u can agree on that.and also they let the lakers get away with lots of things towards the end. and i dnt think they cudve let the celtics win bcuz L.A. wudve been trashed. even tho they won they burned a taxi car on fire and rioted .imagine if the lost
@BostonCelticsForLife Imagine how profitable it would be for the NBA if Kobe equated the number of rings MJ has...My point is that the NBA is a business, a very profitable one...and they know that a Lakers' victory next season will bring the most attention to the NBA. Kobe will be a hero with 6 rings, as MJ, and David Stern will be the happiest guy ever. So personally I am not sure if the games were fixed, but one thing is sure...referees are not neutral at all in today's NBA. They serve bigger
@BostonCelticsForLife They serve bigger interests. They don't just do it for the Lakers, but they do it everytime the NBA has something to gain. So yeah...it's sad but it's like that.
@garnetttribute This is a beautiful interview. And I don't think anything was fixed. The Celtics played hard. The Lakers played harder. It's gonna happen. And I'm scared to say that Boston is gonna lose this year.
@BostonCelticsForLife I felt the exact same way. I cried that night. It was so sad to see Rasheed, Kevin, Paul, and everyone else play their hearts out and play together as a team yet come out the losers. One thing I will always know and remember, is that the Celtics have something that the Lakers still don't have. Teamwork and togetherness.
@edknowsbest dude ur the exact same way as me... im the only one that i know (personally) who thinks like that i guess im just too much of a celtics fan
@BostonCelticsForLife Please don't BS. It wasn't fixed. You guys won in 2008, don't disrespect Boston by saying it was fixed because you didn't win this time as well.
@emotionaL2533 We suck? Lol wow ok that's cool bcu's I didn't know that teams that "suck" are 24-5 with numerous injuries already haha you in denial sad fans make me laugh.
@emotionaL2533 First off you idiot Magic don't suck if you actually knew anything about basketball. And you know your lakers only have 2 wins agains teams over .500 if you don't know what that means it means they only have 2 wins against teams with a winning record so yea eat shit bitch.
@BostonCelticsForLife I'm a Lakers fan, but last season, I didn't care who won. KG is just so inspiring it's crazy. I know your comment is old but just saying. (Out of Lakers/Celtics, I don't care. As long as one of them wins)

And yeah your bitchass was crying while the whole city of LA was partying our asses off after coming back from a 3-2 deficit in the playoffs, and a 13 point deficit in game 7. @TheArtesticle37 Really? lol 21 free throws in the 4th quarter, nuff said. You guys were partying in LA? Ha! Nahh more like hurting your fellow laker fans by fighting and lighting trash cans on fire and throwing them in the middle of the street. Also beating the shit out of a taxi cab driver and burning his car on fire.. Smh thats celebrating? if that is i'll pass, thats actually destroying your city and disrespecting it. everytime the lakers suit up and play they rep LA but u guys destroy it.
@BostonCelticsForLife Boston played SHITTTTTTTYYY defense in the 4th quarter, which is WHY the Lakers came back and shot 21 free throws. Boston didn't even make LA work, they just made them go to the line. And only a small percent of LA, which was seen on TV, wrecked up that area. The rest of us were just partying in the city. I remember when Boston won, like 4 people died :/ . Celtics are a bunch of chokes. 3-2 lead choke. 13 point lead in 3rd quarter of game 7, choke. Get real
@BostonCelticsForLife yup same here man grew up in a celtics fan live in new england myself, will always be a celtics fan. from the day i was born to the day i die. atleast i'll know one thing, i saw the celtics win the championship. :)
@BostonCelticsForLife Yea i kno yo, I know those refs called all them bullshit fouls, smh. In the championship game your suppose to let the players play, the game she be decided by the players not the refs smh. They stole a ring from the celtics, I hope they win at least one more before the big 3 retires.
@MrThekidisback Yeah I know man. I really hope they do but from the looks of things with all these teams in the East just getting better and younger (Bulls, Heat, Knicks etc.) idk if the Celtics get Nene' this off season and or Monta Ellis like they're trying to get then I see us going back and winning (IF WE HAVE NO INJURIES) But if we don't get some nice young talent I don't see us winning anymore with the Big 3...
@BostonCelticsForLife I am a cavs fan, while I live in Detroit, and I can empathize with your pain. The cavs have been losing ever since I can remember. Also, I DESPISE the celtics because they have beaten the cavs, yet I love every single player on that team! because each of them is aw CHAMPION
@Econ1260MetZRoberto I love my team and we need to rebuild.. I like where we're going right now we got two young players in the draft both from Purdue so they're familiar with eachother and we're going to have A LOT of cap room in 2012. Maybe for Dwight Howard? Lol I hope so, if not we can still grab Nene'
@BostonCelticsForLife I agree I am a Celtics fan for life and always have been I bleed green and any game I see them lose I hate it and I think we feel it as much as the Celtics themselves do and in a way we r Celtics too
I love the quote at 1:11 "It's like a field of dreams, if you build it, they will come, you may have to put your arms around a couple of guys and take them with you, but you can't drag them, you got to put your arms around them and take them with you". Out of all the players in the history of the NBA, Bill is actually the one that I admire most, but despite that I am also a hard-core Laker fan & fellow Celtic hater, Bill Russell is someone I will admire for a very, very long time. Maybe forever.
0:52... in this time Garnett played with his old team... If i must to do that... i can't... because heart told me 'stop'. And I... admire KG about that...
This is the type of speach to give a person when you know your time on this earth is limited and you want to perhaps leave something inspiring for the next generation of players (like KG) to carry the mantel of responsibility and respect for the game, long after they have passed away. Russell leads the way in class and style for any athelete to emulate period!
Bill Russel is a great, wise man. Understanding KG's capibility and what hes done. And him saying he would share a championship with him is the most emotional interview ive seen. When Bill Russel talks it makes u fell aprreciative to just hear this man speak. Hes like the Morgan Freeman of Basketball. The Biggest amount of respect goes to this man...for his wisdom and the love he has for the game and the player who enjoy it....Respect greateness.
the two greatest big men for the celtics ever! talking!!! wow that did something to KG... now russel go to memphis and convince Rudy Gay to sign with the celtics!! lol
I can sit down and listen 2 Bill Russell talk about anything because he is such well respected human being and gives great advice that is so comforting 2 another person this is 1 of da most emotional interviews i've ever seen
KG loved Minnesota, but even a person like him has to get tired of losing. That's why he went to Boston, TO GET HIS RING. His heart might have stayed in Minnesota but what's important for him when he went to Boston is winning a ring.
Man, dont even say that. Garnett gave Minnesota basketball a face. Has nothing to do with being on the Celtics that was the magic touch. You could say he shoulda gone to any team that was winning at whatever time long ago. Kevin would have won atleast 1 in Minny if it wasnt for McHale being the VP of basketball operations. your comment is ignorant....and KG will tell you to this day that minny is where his heart is...it always will be...becuse he was the timberwolves franchise.
one question, do the timberwolves have a championship?.....don't worry i'll wait..... You don't know KG and what goes on in his heart. yes he was the franchise but it didn't mean anything because He DONT HAVE A CHAMPIONSHIP. kg probrably made that statement because of them big ass contracts he was gettin. yes the money was good but he really want a championship. and Boston is the place for him. if his heart is with the T'wolves he wouldn't be in Boston. where did McHale get a ring? IN BOSTON!!!
is this a serious post? because this is full of stupid. Ask kevin if minnesota means anything to him dumbass...you're really stupid if you think KG went somewhere for the money or stayed somewhere for the money. KG is a winner, we didn't win after our awesome year in 03-04 because of McHale. What does McHale getting his rings in boston have to do with anything besides the fact boston got a deal of a lifetime? Minnesota is a terrible franchise, what does it matter if we have a championship?
our best bet to win was with kevin. kevin knows that, minnesota knows that. kevin was loyal and dedicated to Minnesota he didnt even ask to be traded after years and years of disappointment here. It meant everything to him and you are SO dumb for saying it didnt mean anything...and how ignorant is that..."kg probably made the statement..."...yeah you keep guessing away..fool. of course he wanted a championship, im glad he got it...its not up to our office if we keep KG, its not up to KG..
thats like saying if Michael Jordans heart is with Chicago, he wouldnt have put on a Wizard jersey..still a business He would be in Boston regardless of his feelings. use some common sense dude.... Boston is the place for him to win now, but it wasnt before. You say "oh you dont know" but you dont know either..so dont talk about it? And that championship he got, for everybody in sota..yeah..kinda hard to have an arguement saying he doesnt love minnesota and his heart isnt here when he says that
Michael won championships with Chicago, Kevin did not win anything from Minnesota. big difference here and bad analogy on your part. A better example is Reggie White. He was the big part of the eagles before he went to Green Bay. the Philly fan could care less when he was released to GB, but guess what, he got a superbowl ring and since he won a superbowl ring, people now thought, he should've went to GB a long time ago. So what are you so fustrated about?
No, sir. It is a perfect analogy, you just think very simplisticaly. But you get a C- for effort on trying to sound intelligent. You are comparing the players and what they achieved. I'm comparing the players to the team/city/state. What Michael meant to the bulls is what Kevin meant to the wolves and everyone in the world who knows a thing about kevin or anything, knows it. In saying so, Kevin LOVES minny and always will.
Had he gone to lets say Cleveland or LA it would have been "oh he shoulda gone there sooner"...has nothing to do with boston. Boston put the right pieces together last year. What the **** does that have anything to do with the years before? Put Kevin next to 2 all star players, and a championship is produced, see: 2003-04 Timberwolves season that ended because "sam cassells back hurt". Has nothing to do with going to boston earlier or anything. The end, come up with a better response.
yeah it almost made me do it the first time I saw it hearing it from the greatest winner in basketball history with the best knowledge of the game CRAZY!!
I am from Boston so I will ask you Boston Celtics fans this question. Bill Russell was the best PROFESSIONAL basketball player ever. Won 11 of the 17 Celtics championships and they dont even have a fuxxxxx statue of him at the Garden (not even Orr) WHY? WHY? WHY/
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this is very nice to see this but lakers in 7 only because kobe will explode and this is where he can really show if he is as good a michael jordan and i no that drives him
I was talking to wogboy43 who said Kobe was as good as Jordan. I do think Bill Russell greatest winner of all time 11 championships and 2 college titles. Jordan to me though the greatest player of all time. I'm glad KG and CO got the title
Gasol punked this chump in the 2010 nba finals.

@BostonCelticsForLife yup same here man grew up in a celtics fan live in new england myself, will always be a celtics fan. from the day i was born to the day i die. atleast i'll know one thing, i saw the celtics win the championship. :)

@BostonCelticsForLife Awww, yea that joint was fixed tho. That game was bullshit, Celtics should have 2 right now.
MrThekidisback 7 months ago
@MrThekidisback They should have two man... Lakers shot 21 ft's in the 4th alone.. That's more than the C's shot the whole game
BostonCelticsForLife 7 months ago
@BostonCelticsForLife Yea i kno yo, I know those refs called all them bullshit fouls, smh. In the championship game your suppose to let the players play, the game she be decided by the players not the refs smh. They stole a ring from the celtics, I hope they win at least one more before the big 3 retires.
MrThekidisback 7 months ago
@MrThekidisback Yeah I know man. I really hope they do but from the looks of things with all these teams in the East just getting better and younger (Bulls, Heat, Knicks etc.) idk if the Celtics get Nene' this off season and or Monta Ellis like they're trying to get then I see us going back and winning (IF WE HAVE NO INJURIES) But if we don't get some nice young talent I don't see us winning anymore with the Big 3...
BostonCelticsForLife 7 months ago
@BostonCelticsForLife oh word, I didn't even know they were trying to get Nene and Ellis yea they would be a good look, and yea I agree with you.
MrThekidisback 7 months ago

KG loved Minnesota, but even a person like him has to get tired of losing. That's why he went to Boston, TO GET HIS RING. His heart might have stayed in Minnesota but what's important for him when he went to Boston is winning a ring.

Garnett should've been with the Celtics a long time ago.
ironman36 3 years ago 2
Man, dont even say that. Garnett gave Minnesota basketball a face. Has nothing to do with being on the Celtics that was the magic touch. You could say he shoulda gone to any team that was winning at whatever time long ago. Kevin would have won atleast 1 in Minny if it wasnt for McHale being the VP of basketball operations. your comment is ignorant....and KG will tell you to this day that minny is where his heart is...it always will be...becuse he was the timberwolves franchise.
wowgamecardgen09 3 years ago
one question, do the timberwolves have a championship?.....don't worry i'll wait..... IN BOSTON!!!
ironman36 3 years ago 3
is this a serious post? because this is full of stupid. Minnesota is a terrible franchise, what does it matter if we have a championship?
wowgamecardgen09 3 years ago
our best bet to win was with kevin. kevin knows that, minnesota knows that. kevin was loyal and dedicated to Minnesota he didnt even ask to be traded after years and years of disappointment here. It meant everything to him and you are SO dumb for saying it didnt mean anything...and how ignorant is that..."kg probably made the statement..."...yeah you keep guessing away..fool. of course he wanted a championship, im glad he got it...its not up to our office if we keep KG, its not up to KG..
wowgamecardgen09 3 years ago
thats like saying if Michael Jordans heart is with Chicago, he wouldnt have put on a Wizard jersey..still a business He would be in Boston regardless of his feelings. use some common sense dude.... Boston is the place for him to win now, but it wasnt before. You say "oh you dont know" but you dont know either..so dont talk about it? And that championship he got, for everybody in sota..yeah..kinda hard to have an arguement saying he doesnt love minnesota and his heart isnt here when he says that
wowgamecardgen09 3 years ago
Michael won championships with Chicago, Kevin did not win anything from Minnesota. big difference here and bad analogy on your part. A better example is Reggie White. He was the big part of the eagles before he went to Green Bay. the Philly fan could care less when he was released to GB, but guess what, he got a superbowl ring and since he won a superbowl ring, people now thought, he should've went to GB a long time ago. So what are you so fustrated about?
ironman36 3 years ago
In saying so, Kevin LOVES minny and always will.
wowgamecardgen09 3 years ago
Had he gone to lets say Cleveland or LA it would have been "oh he shoulda gone there sooner"...has nothing to do with boston. Boston put the right pieces together last year. What the **** does that have anything to do with the years before? Put Kevin next to 2 all star players, and a championship is produced, see: 2003-04 Timberwolves season that ended because "sam cassells back hurt". Has nothing to do with going to boston earlier or anything. The end, come up with a better response.
wowgamecardgen09 3 years ago
I'm still amazed by Russell and how he still connects with players today. Lots of legends
talkin the talk, but BR seems to have the ear of todays players like nobody else. A class act all the way.
