had a feeling it was Praetorius's work. Most probably are. Refreshing to hear something rare, with history.

so neat sounding. funny, the textured tone really reminds me of 8bit music

I love these things. They're like that one B movie that is pretty terrible but you love it with all your heart anyway.

The Rackett is quite an amazing little instrument. Its range certainly belies its size.

What's the title of this piece? It's got a few bars straight out of "Grimstock" starting about 00:31, but I don't recognize the rest of it.

It's called Tanz der Fischer & Tanz der Bauerinnen, and it's from Michael Praetorius' Terpsichore, from 1612.

well reed orientation is a big thing for early instruments. it sounds so similar to to a crumhorn with teh reed alighned perpindicular to the holes.
also that looks to be a baroque rackette in the picture judging by the crook and the ornate bell

I couldn't say from what time the rackett on the picture is. I just searched on google and found it, so I guess it could be baroque. ;)
aye it's definetly baroque.
renaisence ones don't have crooks
is this the one with the Krumhorn?
Um, no.
I was talking about a CD album. This is still the rackett, or I wouldn't call it rackett collection now, would I?
