    There is a thread "r18 turbo thread" several us on there with this kit, and one guy who jus tbuilt his own kit.

    It's a great kit, I recomend it.  I wouldn't get anything weapon R...there stuff is poorly made. Seen several people complain about the intake and the welds falling apart. I'de wait for a better intake to come out. (their engine torque damper is crap too)

  • Jump 8th civic like i mentioned. It's easier and there are several of us that can help you out.

    but I have custom 3" exhaust from the turbo back with a borla straight through exhaust.  I recomend custom. It's better and also probably cheaper.

    Skunk2 is good though. I'm on skunk2 pro-s coilover and I'm liking those a lot.

  • I did. The install was fine. If I hear another person complain, I'm going to puke.

    Perhaps I should have cold revved. But it was my first turbo install. And I really don't care at this point since this was a long time ago and the car is still running great(10k miles later.)

  • Im not a spaz I was just beliving the head of the video in that it said first start which means you primed it and started it before and this was not the first start. And yes I can say I haven't reved a motoe cold a friend of mine did it in front of me and BAM there goes a brand new car. But all things set aside its good to see a 8th gen r18 setup.

  • Thank you for posting more politely. Although I do not believe someone blew a car because of a cold rev. And if it did, it must have been a pretty crappy car to begin with. Also, priming the engine by definition is not a start. It's just rotating the engine to get some oil flowing. This is the first start because it is the first time the spark flugs fired and allowed the engine to rotate on its own.

  • OMG who ever started the car is a fucking retard. You need to prime it before you start it up, you crank it over about 10 times without starting it first to get oil in the system. And then before the car was warmed up you start reving it you fucking dumbass.

  • OMG the guy who posted this comment a retard. Just because this video does not show the priming, does not mean it wasn't done. I did prime the engine. And as far as revving it cold. You can't honestly say you've never done it. It's reallyl not that big of a deal.

  • thats cool, you mean you have a 3" straight pipe without a muffler? you think it will sound and perform better if you have a 3" catback?

  • I have 3" piping from the turbo back. There is no CAT or resonator. There is a borla 3" straight through muffler at teh very end. But it's not really restrictive and doesnt' really do much, but it does change the sound a little.

    3" cat back would help a little, but it's still as restrictive as the most restrictive part of the exhaust. Do you mean on a car without a turbo?

  • I've got straight 3 inch exhaust the whole way back. No CAT. I have different headlights and tail lights.

    This coming saturday, I'm installing my skunk2 pro-s coilovers and doing about a 2" drop i think. SPC rear camber kits, ingall front camber bolts, and front and rear sways off an SI.

    More to come.

  • It all fit like a glove. Th ekit was very well designed. I did not run into a single fitment issue. It was not difficult, but took me awhile. (2.5 full days) But now that I know what I'm doing, I could do it in 1 day.

  • im looking at putting the r18 turbo in, but im not sure i dont want to screw with the warranty, and clutch life. How do things seem to be holding up, thanks

  • It's all holding up great so far, I've got about 6000 miles on my turbo. The clutch is fine, but I will probably be upgrading to a race clutch soon anyway, and put a LSD in as soon as I find one suitable for the car. It's worth the money, very very fun to drive. I'm putting down 220 whp and 200 tq.

  • 220 whp and witch mods beyond turbo mate ? 6 speed manual is the car ? did u programmed - tuned the emanage by your self or the pre programmed ecu works fine for you ?

  • Turbo is really the only power mod.  I do have straight 3" exhaust as well. I'm about to put coilovers, camber kits, and sway bars on.

    It's the AEM F/IC. I did not tune it myself. I would like to learn, but haven't yet.

  • check out procivic com they have the kit there. It's about 3300 or so.

    got r18a1 civic 08 and just bought turbo kit and xtras but not install YET still saving..

  • I did the install myself. Saved a lot that way. Learned a lot as well. If he goes that route, feel free to email me if you have any questions/problems during the install. I'de be happy to help out.

  • Nice car, shitty headlights tho LOL. I wouldnt recommend revving the car with no load however, its not really good for it... just a recommendation, sweet R18, im hopefully getting this kit very soon

  • I agree. That's why when they started crapping out I complained and the company sent me a different set of headlights from a different manufacturer for free.  I have different lights on now, much better quality.

  • I'm just gonna go OEM 09 civic Si. The cleared turning lights. Look clean and they wont let me down.

  • Faster than both. even with bolt ons on the SI.

  • so far is there any problem? With check engine light coming on! car start to stall and bogging. Next Year I would like to get a turbo on my civic ex. one question is your civic auto or manual? mine is auto would it make a differnt.

  • Runs great. CEL comes on once in awhile because the EGR valve is covered. There is one guy who has a custom pipe so he can open the egr valve. That takes care of the CEL. I will be doing that as well soon.

    Auto is doable. I know 2 guys who have the kit on an automatic. It works fine, but it's a little difficult to get it tuned properly. Not many games have tuned an turbo auto vtec. But it is doable. And auto get continuous boost between shifts which is nice.
