minecraft - F3 mob hunting

i press f3 and the everything pops up but he numbers dont ill stand infront of an animal ppress f3 and no number pop up

Basically he's using F3 to show the mob's individual identity numbers. They only show above a mob's head, passive or hostile, or you press F3. The numbers themselves don't mean anything (that I know of), but you can use them to find caves etc. that you haven't explored yet. they got rid of the ability to do this in either 1.8 or 1.0.0 as i tried doing it to find slime that i can hear and it doesn't work :(

@rogantu When you press F3, three of the numbers should be preceeded by x, y, and z. These are your co-ordinates. The y co-ordinate will tell you your height

@sk8ingmonkey1 I play on Mac, with a 17 " screen and on full screen and it sits in the bottom there, not sure if its just the resolution of my screen as its a laptop built for graphics design :)

@pepe0289 pepe yeah there are commands on the F keys but if you hold FN and then press F5 it will work. hope thats helped :)

@asbakkip all numbers belong to (creatures) so everything in the minecraft world thats living has a number there is no way of telling what number is what BUT if you are looking down then its most likely a mob :0

Just look for thr numbers. It doesnt matter what they are. Any number means a mob is there
