Well that's not completely true. For the people that want to complete the game 100 % it's needed, and from the troubles that I had when I first played this game, I needed that sword to get the super bomb, so I think it is actually needed quite a bit.

Everything. I keep a bottle with me all the time and it is full of healing blue liquid. I use it when I'm beeping. So many dangerous things outside.
