  • Hi Dwayne. Great multi-track productions. Different in some melody lines and chord structures (a la the theme from "Gunsmoke"). Have you heard Norman Luboff Choir's version of this on the LP "Calypso Holiday"? Beautiful. You've inspired me to upload my multi-track version of this classic, also. I additionally did a multi-track rendition of the theme from "Gunsmoke" with a little vocalizng, as inspired also by the radio arrangement. Come visit me. Keep this going. Cordially, John Dennis Dickey

  • Hi John,

Thanks so much for the compliments about my music!!! I'm glad that you enjoyed my version of this song!!!

I haven't listened to Norman Luboff's version yet....but I will. I will definitely visit your channel, and your music!

All of my music is multi-track...always has been, and always will be. ;o) You can do so much more with an arrangement when you multi-track! :o)

    Thanks again!!!

    Best Regards,

    Dwayne

  • Dwayne,Being a Brit I didn't recognise that melody but it was played so well and I know a programme on the BBC that would be proud to have your rendition played on a Tuesday ! Loved your feathered friends too .More please !

    patto

  • Hi Patto,

Thanks very much for the very nice compliments my friend!!! I'm glad that you enjoyed it!!!:o) I know that BBC program. A very good friend gave me a link to it!;o)

    Best Regards Always,

    Dwayne

  • The organ sounds are wonderful. Great job, as always. Oh, how my Dad loved Ken Griffin..... and, me, too. The birds are beautiful and bring some sunshine to me on this cold snowy day. Thanks so much.

    Genereane

  • Hi Genereane,

Thanks very much for the kind words my friend!!!

Ken Griffin was one of my favorite organists in the '50's. "You Wore A Tulip, and I Wore A Big Red Rose"...or "You Can't Be True Dear!" He certainly knew how to make that Hammond sing out!!!;o)

    Thanks again!!!

    "Best Wishes,"

    Dwayne

  • Hi Dwayne !

Just after trains, planes, dogs and cats, I had forgotten birds ! ! !

  • Nicely done Dwayne. Agree with dynamic881964 - organ sounds - sound great, along with your excellent background style. John

  • Hi John,

Thanks a lot for the great compliments!!!

I was over due for some organ sounds!;o) I know that you like the sound of the organ...so do I!!!:o)

    Thanks Again...John!!!

    Best Regards,

    Dwayne

  • Fantastic !!! Always loved hearing the Mills Brothers sing this... most people today play it too fast... thank you for keeping the tempo as it should be !!! :-) Excellent Job ! Makes me want to get a Tyros 1 ! I love the organ sounds...reminds me of a classic Hammond ! D

  • Hi dynamic881964,

Thanks a lot for the very nice compliments!!!

This should be played as a slower tempo song. It originally comes from the Caribbean, and most songs from that corner of the world are slower in tempo.

The Mills Brothers had a great hit with this as did Lawrence Welk.

    Thanks Again!!!

    Best Regards,

    Dwayne

  • "Yellow Bird." Its melody was derived from a nineteenth-century Haitian song called "Choucoune." During the 1950s, vocal director Norman Luboff adapted the melody and songwriters Alan and Marilyn Keith Bergman wrote new lyrics for the song

  • Hi supperflow17,
