  • this is exactly how they get worse. i know from experience. dumbass shoould listen to the doctor and cut them properly so that it doesn't get like that.

  • WTF!?!?!?!?!! HOW IN THE HELL DID I GET HERE, I WAS JUST WATCHING MUSIC VIDEO'S AND SOME HOW I GOT TO HERE

  • @baroot101 you do know that just causes more ingrown toe nails.... right?

  • wow dude your giving yourself the ingrowns

  • this is not true, if its removed correctly the first time then it will never come back.

  • This relaxes me

  • Yeah a podiatrist can remove it and then apply an acid that will prevent the nail from EVER growing that close to your toe, had that done over 20 years ago. Never had one ever since.

  • another thing is that i used to do this like 3 times a month for like 2 years, and this monday i got my SUPERUPERINGROWTOENAIL removed, and holy taco...

  • he said it on the video "if you want to get out of the pain and dont want go to the doctor" so this is like a small solution for the pain. Stop complaining about a nail... so stupid.

  • firespinnr & IceYourPimpHand are right, NEVER do that ! Good methods:

3TO Spange to treat damaged nail, Nuricare Center- Syria

    ( deutsch ) Die 3TO Spange

    ( français) Languette d'orthonyxie Bacquart

  • Yeah, you need to see a doctor about that. I use to get them a lot, and I was doing pretty much this. Finally when to a doctor. He numbed it up and took a kind of drill to it. One side of my nail was completely gone, and it left a pretty big hole. It'll be hard to walk on for a few days, and you'll need good pain meds, but it'll fix the problem. That was 3 years ago and I haven't had one since.

  • i found its easter to take a knife cut down the side of your toe and remove it i have had them since i was 8 they are normaly very deep and get infected

  • i immediately took my socks off and checked for an ingrown

  • Toe nails grow in the direction that you cut them. If you cut a "V" shape into your nails, this should solve the problem.

  • What an idiot! Some "clever" people will do the same after watching your "solution" !

  • I can remove it in one peeling and I'm 13.

  • This is exactly what I used to do until I finally went to a podiatrist in 2003, He did a procedure on me and I haven't had any problems since. Best decision I ever made. Watching this video brings back memories of pain and home procedures I went through for years. It was quite liberating once those darned ingrowns were gone.

  • Boy you´re crazy! The toenail will grow in again and again. Go to hospital or doctor

  • One time i got an ingrown toe nail. All i did was soak my feet in an ebsom salt bath daily and eventually it went away. Although i did catch it VERY early on.

  • ever heard of cuticle remover dork? it makes your ingrown nail softer

  • shit!!! my side of my toe is puffed out like this does tht mean i got a ingrown toenail

  • if you go to a good doctor you won't have them again

  • so wrong, lol

  • If you stop doing this, you wont't have ingrown tonails again.

  • u just relieved it but its still there. dudes a dumbass.

  • lol put the nail thing in there

  • even when they numb they your toe...you feel it getting ripped off...if your whole toe nail is being taken off....it sucks it hurts....dont wear steel toe boots all the time.

  • I went to my doctor he removed it 3 weeks later got another one did this and havent had one in 6 months

  • Why the fuck an I watching this?

  • LoL! cutting the angle is what gives you the ingrown..... u need to let it grow out to stop the skinn growing in the nail's place....

and cut ur friggin toe nails strait across, not rounded like you would your finger-nails

  • Your solution will simply aggravate the problem. It'll give temporary relief, but not permanent.

..."I've done it a lot of times, so I'm used to it"...errr, yeah, so it's not being removed, is it?

Source: Two ingrown toes, both sides on each, 3+ years.

  • Total plank!

  • Anyone who dislikes this video is a dork! I'm a girl who got the nastiest ingrown toe nail ever! I did exactly what he said to do and had instant relief! not to mention saved time and money. Then I called my family doctor and he said this is exactly what your supposed to do! Removing the whole nail is a last resort if you have done nothing (like fix it how this video says). My skin was even cut open, raw, and irritated and this worked great! Just breath when your doing it because it hurts!!! Ba

  • @kristinegoetz Your doctor is a moron. It gives temporary relief...but it'll be back. Trust me on this, I dealt with ingrown toenails from 2004-2011...because I was doing what this video says to do. If I had done, you know, proper nail care? Wouldn't have spent this long in pain.

  • @kristinegoetz That can"t possibly be true, if you let this go on and on, you can get gangrene and possibly lose your toe. Your doctor is a moron, you should see a podiatrist for something like this, dealing with home procedures and reoccurring pain all the time is no way to live, believe me I did it for 6 years. There's and easy fix for this, just go to a podiatrist or have you primary Dr. refer you to one.

  • THIS GUY IS GIVING REALLY REALLY BAD ADVISE, THIS IS WHY HE KEEPS GETTING THEM!!

never cut down the side of your toenail like that, always cut it straight, flat from left to right, and not too short, cutting down the side like he did is actually making it way way worse.

If you already have an ingrown Toenail, there is not much you can do yourself, if it isn't too bad, you might get away with letting it run its course and it will grow out on its own, if its bad, see a doctor

  • That is soooo wrong

  • Wrong wat u should do is put the filer tip in there and try to bend back the sliver under the skin and then rip it off

  • This is bad advice. And how did I end up on this video?

  • dude the reason why you keep getting them is because of exactly what you're doing lol you have to cut your nails FLAT not angled, that's where I fucked up

  • he has a point. this does make it better in the short term. i did this for a while then was like fuck it im gettin this professionally done lol. havent had one in 2 years now and i cut them str8 across so i dont risk gettin one again :)

  • DUDE!!! Get surgery!! They cut both sides make sure it never grows back. This is NOT how you do it and see a Doctor immediately! Idiot...

  • @ku42 Only doesn't grow back if they cauterize the nail bed. Had surgery in May for the toenails...he cut out the slivers digging in down to the bed. One toe's perfectly fine. The other's getting bad again, but this is my fault.

  • You should allways cut your nails straight across otherwise you are prompting ingown nails

  • watch video TOENAIL CAN BE SIMPLY REMOVED AT HOME WITHOUT PAIN AND BLEEDING

    Yessssssssssssssssss

  • u

    ok

  • Thanks

  • mmmmm... Tasty.

  • They're is a way to prevent ingrown toe nails! Cut them more often like once a week!

  • by cutting deep into your nail your promoting the nail to grow fucked up you need to suck it up and use the nail cutter into the flesh release the blood and up out the small nail under the skin but let your nail grow past the tip of your toe you said I've done this alot of times that is the problem you've done it alot of time wrong and promote its wrong growth

  • That's how you get them in the first place, dipshit.

  • You suck.I did this and Im crying cause my toe hurts so bad!!Dont listen to him!!!!!!

  • I used to do the same exact thing! never again! you want to cut a V shape in the middle of your toe nail so the toenail will grow back tto the way its supposed to! :)

  • Just get the nail removed and it will never happen again

  • doh dats normal to have? right?

  • haha. "The nail thing." awesome

  • Folks, just go see a podiatrist please. Don't rely on Youtube Medical School.

  • I am an aesthetician and I hope ppl you do not do it the way this man has showed you. See a spa professional and let them how you the right way, there are ways to take the pressure away and the way he is cutting the nail doesn't really help. I used to have ingrowns very bad so I know!

  • This is what doctors say exactly NOT to do .

  • I can't believe over 800,000 people watched this... And now I'm one of them

  • nasty o.o

  • cut the entire toe haha

  • gross.

  • @craigyt1

Im pretty sure its called the vandenbos procedure, and I'm getting it done in three weeks, it's looks worse than it is, most people who get it done don't require any narcotics at all, at most advil. "ingrown toe nail" is incorrect, the skin grew over, and with the surgery, 100% it never comes back. :)

  • no wonder this happens every three or four months, you are the one causing it!!!

  • Soak ur feet for 20 minutes 4 times a day in warm water and get a cream from rite aid called bacteracin and put it on after u soak ur feet

  • Anyway what I do to stop it getting infected is showever/bath every 1-2 days. Bathe it in warm/hot salty water a couple of times a day and put some antisceptic creme on it when I go to bed. I keep doing this until I can reach the ingrown part of the nail with a needle, then I lift/bend the nail and pull it down to the root.

  • @craigyt1 I'm not trying to be pushy. You can do your toe nails any way that works or your doctor says will work. My podiatrist says no way never cut down or curved. Thats were the skin tissue can grow over the nail thus causing the problem. If you cut the nail straight across that will prevent it from becoming INgrown.

  • @firespinnr I know that but this is how it started, I somehow got an ingrown toenail, then I cut it out myself, then it just grows back it's self, my nail even looks messed up/uneven because it's not growing up, it's growing sideways it seems

  • I just went to a surgeon about and "ingrown toenail"

It's not the nail that is the problem, when the soft skin tissue around the toe has too much pressure on it it grows and and over. The worst thing to do is keep cutting, the nail will keep growing and putting pressure on the skin. The real problem is not an ingrown toenail, it's overgrown toe skin, only way to fix it is get the skin removed by surgery.

  • @the777goddess

Yes thats true, can't remember what the procedure is called but it's on youtube, they cut the skin around your toe, it looks so fucking painful. It's like half of your toe gone lol.

  • how the fuck i pop here by watching mw3 video ???

  • maybe you should cut your nails more...

  • Ingrown toe nail problem my entire life. I had the same exact problem. Until I STOPPED cutting the nail down into the bed or even slightly curved. After the last surgery where my big toe was about the size of a golf ball. The podiatrist said this do not under any circumstances cut down as you've described. He said and I quote cut it straight across avoiding the diagonal cut you are doing. Who ever told you to do that is a tool. Try it my way you will be surprised.

  • EPIC FAIL your solution is the very reason you have a ingrown toe nail.

  • @firespinnr I do this, I have had surgery 3 times to try and fix it, the last time was to kill the nail bed (burn) but the nail just grew back...I'm over doctors incompetence and this has worked for me over a 6 year period with no infections and no pain if I trim every couple months.

  • @firespinnr Yes

  • @firespinnr exactly!

  • About as sanitary, like a bag of crap.No Alcohol/Peroxide/Wrong type of nail clippers.Save money, and wind up in ER for a wound infection.and he did not mention to get/scrap toe jam out first, around the edges.,and cleaWhat the hell is this,Toenails by Stanleyski??Also clean before doing anything, with iodine or alcohol.Nuff Said/from drop DEAD/FRED

  • You need to cut a v shape in to the nail to stop it comming back. ie: if you are looking down at your toe you will see a distinct v shape in the centre of your nail. This makes the nail grow toward the centre of the toe again rather than out toward the outside of the toe.

  • I've had one ingrown toenail procedure done and just recently on a check up it looked like my nail was digging back into the tissue so my doctor just did the permanent procedure where they burn the nail root so just that little side of the nail doesn't grow back anymore and you'll never have another ingrown toenail again...so I'd suggest that.

  • to avoid ingrown nails or to get them to grow out, every time you cut your nail soak your big toe (to avoid damage to the nail) then just cut it straight across. FOR GODS SAKE do not cut it round. because the edged will grow and jab into the nail. this is what my doctor told me...

  • I've never gone to the doctor for an ingrown toenail, and I have one right now, and it hurts like a biotch because I play basketball and it was stepped on, and idk what to do now. It has pus coming from it, and they usually hurt when I remove them, but there was no feeling when I removed it...idk what to do, but it's good to know I've been doing it right all this time

  • cool

  • It won't come back the doctors burn the root

  • Same thing happens to me all the time, ive lost my toenails quite a few times but it always grows back like this

  • this is one of those times... so i thought i would record it for you. AWE! how sweet <3

  • Not surprised you have an ingrown toenail the way you are hacking at those nails!!! They should be cut clean straight across regularly. Do not cut down the sides as this can cause ingrown toenails and wear shoes that are not tight around the toes.

  • actually mine looked like that and i was able to remove it without having to do that and on top of i had a pedicure

  • I did the same when i was 13, it was painfull but i didn't want to see a doctor,

  • i was watching lps b4! whyyy????!!!!

  • For life?? Is there any way at all that I can get rid of it for good with out removing my toe??

  • @MsAmber626

i had one if u do go to a doctor they will remove the side but your toe is num so u dont feel the clipping and stuff it was really fast like 30 min but i think it will eventuly come back like with in 2-4 years maybe ish debeding if u u get both sides of the toe take off which i recomend so u dont get one on the other side

  • Just a friendly observation... Part of the reason you have recurring ingrown nails is from the way you performed the "operation". I'd explain a better way to do this to reduce the chances of it happening again, but there is not enough room for me to go into detail. You can research the techniques and tools/supplies used to control nail growth online. One tip: avoid tearing any nail, always use sharp clippers and make a clean, crisp cut.

  • Listen i have one right now but the thing is that its infected so can someone tell me what can i do???

  • @thevictorrx you definitely should go to the doctor if its infected. Good Luck!

  • im in the weird part of youtube

  • id use tweezers!

  • teen i always do it this way and my toes fine.

  • Don't take this advice! It makes it ten times worse! You're supposed to cut the middle of your nail to make a U shape so both ingrown parts grow out!

  • i get them about every two or three times a MOUNTH! :(

  • @tonydickhoff *month.....

  • Thank you for the info, but I cut my nails weird though.... :/

I (at least thought I) removed an ingrown on my big toe the day of this quinceanera I was invited to... it came back, and now its matter is stuck nail polish, and an ingrown toe. It is very painful, there is (I guess) a puffy piece of skin sticking out on the side, and it is highly severe. I have an appointment on the day I go back to school. And there are exams the next week after I come back to school. Fuck my life. -.-

  • trust me... just go to the doctor... i was here about a year ago watching this video... this will only get it worse.. ingrone nail free...

  • Dude, doing shit like this is how ingrown toenails happen in the first place. Both of my big toes are minorly ingrown because I used to cut my toenails at an angle when I was younger. ><; The best thing you can do for these is to cut your nails straight across and go to the doctor if they get bad enough.

  • Ewwwww

  • You can get an infection and of you go to a doctor they will ensure u don't get it again

  • My nail matrix has been shortened by using burning acid. It has been a half a year ago since the treatment and it never came back. So there is a definitive solution! Not what he claims that you'll be stuck with it for life. There is a cure!

  • im in that weird part of youtube again O_o

  • ehhhhh fuck...tried it again...fucked it up again...I guess I'll just HAVE to go to the doctor like I do every few months...

Or maybe I'll see if I have the balls to break the rest of it off after this next beer...nah better off going to the doctor as long as you get insurance...if not...well, fuck man...I hope you have a friend who's willing to do that shit for you with a steak knife...it'll take a LOT of drinking and drugs...

Yeah better off to go to a doctor, some methods only work for SOME

  • ok thats plain gross! Who in the world makes a video about this!?!

  • Wrong job! Poorly done, not how you do it!

  • Whose else is squinting and squeezing their toes into little fists?

  • cut a little V shape in the center of your toe and it will grow inwards away from the edge of your toe problem solved

  • thumbs up for Justinn Bieber!

  • They keep coming back because you're cutting your nail at an angle. That's EXACTLY how you can give yourself an ingrown toenail. -_-You cut it at an angle, it's going to be prone to growing back at an angle.

  • I got ingrown nails to my nail got infected today with orange goo on the nail puss cam out hurts like hell hopefully don't got to go to doctor I always knew my bail grew inside and I always cut it but now it got infected

  • Ouch!

  • dont do this go to the podist or how ever u spell it they actually know wat there doing and this guy is a fool and giving faluse information and this is how u get them.

  • sir are you married -.-

  • EWWW

  • Eww... Get your nail grow and keep it clean, let it just grow... That's how I got rid of my ingrown nail. Over time it stop if you stop digging it. Sheesh!

  • Wash your feet and that won't happen

  • @nightwriterou812 It's not about hygiene...it's about how your toenail grows. How clean your feet are has nothing to do with how your toenails grow.

  • @nightwriterou812 no thats not the problem... that would be happen by a clean feet too...

  • I BET I END UP IN THE TOP COMMENTS

  • @Mamichulahhxd I bet you dont....

  • wtf i am doing watching this

  • Ive done nothing to my toe but somehow it is throbbing

  • This is exactly how I do it for about 30 years without any problems or complications. First go soak in warm water to take it easier, faster and painlessly done. Over time I found that a small sharp cutter pliers for electronics can be more effective than these nail clippers. Finally disinfected with hydrogen peroxide and go away happy in the new conquests.

  • I got a nail avulsion then halfway through growing it became a ingrown toenail... Someone help me! I don't know how to cut it when it is grown halfway. :(

  • Why am I watching this ?

  • @MegaLittleBallerina right! lol me too........

  • @augirl4eva Haha yeah, one video leads to another...lmao

  • @MegaLittleBallerina

i fucking know right, one minute ago i was watching dubstep vids, now....how to remove an ingrown toenail.

  • @BLASPH3M3DUBSTEP Haha yeah :) It's happens all the time :D

  • Yeah, I've had them for about 6 years now, I've been to a doctor and had the sides cut off a few times now and they always come back. Basically, I've decided to just get the whole toenail taken out, cause they grow really far back and I can't do anything about them. I'll choose a painless toe over a nice looking one any day.

  • ewwwww :P

  • I just got an ingrown toenail about 2 days ago. It has progressed so much! And it absolutely kills.

  • Remove this video :) This method its worng .... WTF u are ? are u doctor ? what ?

  • @vlagads dont worry you are just like me so I understand your pain

  • HAHAHAHA!

the nail thing, omg ithought that was funny

  • Iv got an ingrowing toe nail im 11 iv got it 1ce a year for 2 years and it don't hurt but if i knock it, it bleeds a hell of alot and my toe is pretty big and its got like a horrible cut growing on it type thing and green stuff is coming out of it iv got an operation in 2 weeks im so scared help me what do i do :'(

  • i get ingrown for 3 a month in both toe ;'( and im only 12

  • The "nail thing"???????? LOL

  • why the fuck am i watching these disgusting videos.... it started out with waxing hair then turned into popping pimples then piercings gone wrong then popping black heads to this.. fml

  • At first I watched this and thought OMG WHAT IS THIS MAN DOING? And it was all wrong but having thought about it, I guess ur method is the most effective for at home. U even said u felt relieve. :)

  • I smashed my pinky toe real bad and the nail used grow back funny, then fall off. Now its growing in sideways and it hurt real bad, 5 minutes doing this it was fine, i think the rest of the nail will stay on this time thank you!

  • I just cut off my toe...

  • @andrewman78 O_O

  • The fact that you're doing this procedure is precisely why you continue to get ingrown toenails. You're doing it wrong and it is definitely going to come back.

  • Yeah I may need you to send me ur home address. I need to put you on my Xmas list. Two grueling weeks of limping and pain--solved with one video and only 10-15 seconds of pain. Great post --thanks again

  • Oops pressed enter.. That looks really painful.. I don't think I could do that with my toes.. Mine is on the other side which is a bit less sensitive for me but it is getting to the other side sometimes. I go to my dads foot doctor and he uses really small tools and stuff for me, it really helps a lot but not always for that long. I go back enough so it doesn't get really bad but he did suggest to me a surgery to just cut off a small part of the sides of my nails just enough to give my nail som

  • That looks really

  • imma throw up

  • I work for a podiatrist and I can tell you this is the wrong way. "I've done this many times." Go to a specialist, they can burn the root and the side will never grow again. I've had it doen and have not had this problem since. :)

  • dude your toes are exactly the same shape as mine haha, thankyou SO much for this vid ingrown tonails ruined my skateboarding, and at my school ball the girl i danced with stood on it and i nearly passed out haha. i had to get it removed twice and it started coming back so you just helped me stop it for now. :D

  • This is how I do mine, I have a phobia about people touching my feet so I can't go doctors or anything, as long as you clean toe and clippers throughly, I have always been ok

  • Me is the same as shame

  • OMG! so before watching this video and reading up on ingrown toenails i cut my nail back and rounded it. no pus or infection but still hurts like hell. what do i do! this is my first ingrown toenail and id rather it be my last!

  • okay if you do that its gonna grow back your suppose to cut in sqaure not round or it will hurt again i also had surgery on my toe nail it before: during the infection my nail fell off then i grew baack and it was ingrown and i got it removed the only painfull part is when they put the needle like on ur bone to numb the toe

  • I clip the sides of my nail far back anyways, and one day I accidentally ripped out the ingrown nail I didn't know I had. It freaked me out cause there was pus.

  • i had an evil ingrown toenail once. i wento to the doctor and he took off a piece of the nail, but it grew back inwards again, so i took a cloth to bite on and cut it off right at the beginning of my nail. Bloody mess and hurts like torture but in the end i was fine. Do the same if you got an ingrown toenail, but that's nothing for the weak ones. In fact I'm pretty proud of myself... because it really hurt bad.

  • better method cut a v in the middle of the toenail when the toenail grows it will grow twards the v which will solve the ingrown toenail.

  • i did that for over a year now and it got soooo bad i had the sides tsken off this morning !!!

  • if my nails could talk, they would have screamed so loud the neighbors would have called the cops.

  • How the fuck did i get here

  • Lol i get my dad to get a hook utensil thing to dig in my toe and pull it up and out lol. Yes its painful. I try to hold back the yell.

  • That's how i always do it, since i was 8 or so, never been a problem for me

  • Im in the wierd part of youtube again.

  • this makes it worse

  • Well this is stupid, the most common way of getting ingrowing toenails is because you're cutting them too much at the sides. What you're doing is just asking for another ingrowing toenail. The best thing is to get surgery on them, it's not painful, you just have to keep it dressed for a while

  • i acctualy do this all the time: / didn't know it was a issue with my toe

  • This is not the right way to remove the ingrown toenail! You really should see a doctor about the toenail! I get them at least 5 or 6 times a year mainly due to the way my feet are shaped! I used to do this type of surgery but it only causes the nail to get worse! Go to a doctor!!!

  • OH MY GOD that's gonna hurt so bad! this is definitely NOT the right way.

  • You can get your ingrown toe nails permanently removed. The doctor can apply a solution after cutting out the ingrown part of the nail so that it doesn't grow back. I've had this done on both my big toes. Haven't had any troubles since.

  • I Have had it 3 times and im 12 both sides on one nail and 1 side on the other ( both big toes)

  • Wrong, wrong, wrong. You are going to continually get painful ingrowing toenails if you contiue to do this. What you need to do is let the nail grow and then ease the edge of the nail upwards away from the skin. Yes it will be painful but you definitely should not be cutting the nail the way it is shown in this video.
