ps. the lighter was to sterilize, and of course, I used a lubricant for the tattoos, used non-toxic ink, and ended up making it so you can swap out needles through a locking piece, after the first tattoo I did, I thought to do that... (BAD idea to reuse ANYTHING!!!)... Got some disinfectant and other must-haves, of course, but the gun it's self was simple and effective... I've given half my friends tattoos, and all of them are happy with what I did. :) pps. sorry if the last comment offended you

I've done a tattoo on myself before, and all I used was a hot glue gun, a pager motor that instead of spinning went in and out, took the weight off the end, welded a very thin sewing needle to the rod of the motor, put it in through the back of the brand new hot glue gun, took out the guts of the tattoo gun, to make room for some AA batteries, and made a slider for the side of the gun to adjust speed, and another for depth (and of course a switch for on/off).
