Tragic that they both died in car accident in 1996...I had no idea. Just looked them up when I was telling my wife I saw them at 'The Hippodrome Show' in about 1988, along with Transvision Vamp and Barry Manilow on the same bill.
@Richyspice1 Completely horrible i randomely looked them up and was amazed to hear about this, assumed theyd just vanished into obscurity. Completely terrible, can only assume Euro 96 or something swalled up the publicity as they were very popular and deservedly so in their hayday.
Dennis looks like he could be Hazell Dean (or basically any other female who was produced by SAW in the late 80s and wore a 'smart hat' - SAW seemed to have a thing for odd hats - Sonia, Kylie, Hazell, Donna, Mel & Kim all seemed wore them).
Yes! I was tyring to find this song all day today!! Had to ask mum what they were called... They look like strippers you have on a hen night LOL.. track makes me smile though :)
@MegaSpliffster I know every teenager looks back on and wants to remain in their teenage years forerever and is influenced immensely by the music that was played at the time. Well I was a teenager when this was released and I would LOVE to travel back to the days when alls that mattered that was who is at the top of the charts.
OMG I remember this so much - loved it when I was a kiddie and love it now. Was always played at primary school discos back then. So sad to hear what happened to these guys.
@jakeharris2010 So true, being from the U.S. i've been checking out their videos for the first time here on the Tube and must say America missed this one. Can't stop watching these guys. Sexy and talented; the whole package but only to find out they were killed years ago. So unfortunate, they would of eventually been big here in the states & well loved.
Doesn't anyone realize that this was the 80's??!! Why is everyone critisizing them about their clothes and music? That was the 80's trend and this music is SOOO much better than the sluts in america right now!
Fuller, Ephraim, Edem's German wife Bettina, their mutual friend - a Hamburg DJ - and the Swiss driver all died. Edem and his wife left behind a son, Stevie, who was 3 years old at the time of the tragedy. Dennis had a daughter, Laura, who was 10
For those who may make ill-informed comments: Edem and Dennis both died in a car accident on 21 January 1996. On an Austrian Alps mountain road on their way to a skiing holiday and along the route met a car driven by an inebriated driver who was trying to pass at the opposite side of the road. Apparently, the Swiss driver had kept overtaking other cars in dangerous places on that road beforehand and in bad weather conditions for a couple of miles until he finally hit their car head-on.
Its amazing how when walking the dog in the park you suddenly start singing this song!!!!!!! Having not heard it for I dunno 15 years? Thanks uploader
NLEWLAD these 2 guys had something that john and edward will never have and i mean NEVER have and that was talent!!!!
how you can even compare jedward to edem and dennis is beyond me,just look how many awards, gold discs and not to mention platinum discs the london boys won.i suggest you do research on these 2 before comparing them to anyone like jedward!!
FABULOUS, Loved these 2 sexy blokes, I am saddened by the fact that they are no longer with us. bought the album, The Twelve Commandments Of Dance. Loved it. RIP guys
This video represents my youth in every way imaginable.
The song is legendary no doubt, but the choreography is awesome. And the stage was amazing, and good to see the audience was getting into the performance as well.
That's respect. Well done lads.
To those who know, you'll always be in our hearts London Boys.
It's a pity the track doesn't get more play .. i know loads of people who love this song.. me included and i'm the proud owner of their LP!! those were the days eh??
It was their dress style showing their torsos that was their appeal plus the amazing back flips dance routine. Edem had the stronger voice from the two of them but they were both amazing in their own way. I would like to know, however, how Edem's son is doing if anyone can supply that information. Sadly, he has only videos of the father he barely knew whereas we can just shake our heads that these two were taken so tragically. RIP Dennis and Edem - you are missed
Allenn100 - I agree wholeheartedly. I hope that Edem's son found love and happiness - also Dennis's daughter but even more tragic is the fact that Edem's son was left an orphan. Rest In Peace, guys - you shouldn't be forgotten even though your career was cut short.
I remember when I saw them on top of the pops there were 7 of us bros and sisters we recorded them on video loved that song please could you tell me how did pass over
I believe they were destined for better things - such a tragedy that they both died as well as Edem's wife and their friend. Any ideas what happened to Edem's little boy who was sadly left an orphan?
When you think all the crap that got to number 1, not just in the 1980's but every era, tragic to think that this didnt. If only they hadnt brought it out at the same time Jive Bunny got in the chart -you only got to watch the crowds reaction to see how well loved they were. R.I.P lads. You were awesome!
i remember someone at the time, saying they were gay. prob. because their look appealed to straight women AND gay men. stay cool in heaven, guys: you WERE part of the magic that was the 80s
Well, when i saw them then, i did think they looked like members of the blue oyster bar from the police acadamy movies, in what they were wearing. This is good 80's sounding stuff tho, sounds quite itallo to be honest.
yeah they died in a plane crash on the way home from a gig 2 of them and one of there wives were on board too long live london boys had a few gd partys in my aunties listenin to there album long long ago they were the days!!
It was a car crash, but it doesnt really matter, the sad thing is that the lads and others lost their lives in tragic circumstances. Yes indeed, those were the days!
No they were both married but played gay clubs and had a huge gay audience. As dancers it probably didn't bother them in the slightest bit and nor should it.
Also bear in mind this was 1989 and everyone wore weird stuff.
it looks like another milli vanilli to me' no way did these guys do the vocals,i wouldnt be surprised if there is a fat middle aged[white]german bloke still picking up royaltie's'.
Its so weird, these guys were about when i was young and they are both gone?? So sad, they had so much energy and made everyone feel good with their music, its a cruel world. Rip lads.
