Hey, my window AC unit isn't running properly. The compressor will run for 30 seconds, stop for a minute, run for 30 seconds... I've been keeping it off because I don't want to burn the compressor up. What could be wrong with it?

You can add refrigerant, but you shouldn't need to. Most units quit working due to improper maintenance.

can you add freon to window units?

I like the tip about the coils and using a wire brush to clean them and the brush come in handy to straighten the bent fins also. Thanks for the video and I am about to clean two window units to get them ready.
