He did 183 and ended up with 421, respectful but not gold medal performance. Surpisingly he struggled with the 225, but did the 238 with ease, so may be some issues about consistency. However, he looked to be capable of doing more than the 183, possibley 187 and more than the 238, possible 242. His biggest challenge is to remain under 105 KG, as he looked to me initially as 115 KG. I am surpised he was under 105, but given his body type and his big lifts, he will struggle to remain under 105.

Appearantly he has been trying to break the 105 KG clean & jerk record for the past two years, he attempted a close 238 in 2009. My understanding this Russian (Armenian by heritage) is not a good snatcher, snatching in the high 170's. But going from Armenia to Russia, will improve his snatch ability as the Russian are the best snatchers. I don't like it at all, as I am Khadjimourat fan and I thought, he set himself well for 2012, only to see this guying poping from nowhere. 238 KG looked easy

While the Klokov total is 428kg, and Akkaev's 430kg;

His C&J is very strong even, better than any russian. His Snatch is just 8kg behind Akkaev.

I so wanted him to make this but the way he did make it is pretty astonishing.

Just wonder how the Russian team will react. They can´t send Klokov, Bedzhanyan and the other guy to London in one class. But leaving the world record holder at home would be weird.

@MellonVegan Russia is going to have a hard time deciding who goes to the Omypics. This is my prediction: Klokov and Akkaev will go. Bedzanyan, is young and will have his turn soon. Even though his clean and jerk is better than Akkaevs and Klokovs.

Bedzanian is a great fuck lifter, but, will have to improve the snatch, to get the level of tops.

@MellonVegan unforntunly will not be easy for russian send this 3 amazing athletes for london.

but Klokov and Akkaev can get more chances since they are higher totals, so the decision is not that difficult :)
