well the difference is that a sophisticated driver in the rwd m3 couldn't out maneuver the cops in sticky, congested, tight weaving metro city roadways nearly as well as he could in the awd rs4. change this to an interstate-esque setting and they would perform almost identical. i would rather have the rs4 as a matter of personal preference but i truly love both. throw in the lexus isf and you have 3 of my favorite automobiles.

If you really love the M3 but you want to buy the RS4 because it is more spacious and you're a family guy then go for The E90 M3, it is just as fast as the E92 but with more space. But if you're someone who does not like drifting and likes power and safety then the RS4 is yours but you must not forget that they both come with seriously high price tags. RS4 is better is more economical too.

They are similar in power and wight and 0 - 100 but the M3 is better high speed and on the track. It has a better time than the M5 2!

The RS4 is a better everyday car Than the M3 and it looked really good when it was taking those curves there was no significant understeer (thats awesome from a AWD car) while the M3 was powersliding lol. BUT Id buy the M3 just for the looks, sound and POWERSLIDES!!!!! and if u can afford this car u can also afford a honda accord for everyday use and practicality. M3 for fun and Audi for day to day use. M3´s are exciting coupes, and it has been for years. Audi´s are great sedans, with plenty of safe coming from the 4wd. The RS4 in US weighs 3995 lbs (emissions, bumper regulation etc. add weight) while the M3 will weigh 3600 lbs with the same amount of power. The driventrain loss will be much higher due to AWD in RS4. Car and driver magazine has already said the M3 is substantially faster than the RS4 in their tests in acceleration and handling. Once they test them side by side, it will be proven M3 is the king.

RS4's parasitic power loss due to AWD makes it put much less power and torque down to the ground.

I have the September 2006 edition where Car and Driver got a 4.6 sec 0-60 and 1/4 mile in 13.2 and a 0.90g skidpad. I have it right in front of me with a yellow colored RS4. I am looking at the specs right now. By comparison, E92 M3 in early test did 4.4 secs and 12.8 secs and 0.94g. They said it will do even better in detailed test.

myeah....I've put that question myself...RS4 or the new M3. I think the choice is depending on the drivers style.Plus M3's interior is ugly as hell. Neither RS4's full-of-carbon interior is a joy...

So i concluded, M3 is more fun...if you have a race track around. But in daily life i think an RS4 has more of a meaning. And 4x4 adds more to that meaning. And in rain conditions i think RS4 is a lot more fun then M3.

So i guess i'll leave home with an RS4.. now who can borrow me 77000 euro?

I'll fully agree with you, but i'am a Audi fantast, so thats why :D But i can only borrow you 50€ i don't got so much money right now xD But iin my oppinion the carbon is sporty, maby thats why it's carbon in the Audi.
